I thought it would have more of a sitcom feel so it kind of took me by surprise. Since the episode was basically the trailers I’m going to need a couple more episodes before I can get a real feel for it.
All of the funny lines have been played over and over again in the preview commercials. I was disappointed. My husband walked away from it after 10 minutes.
I've only seen a few minutes of it and I'm intrigued... not sold, but intrigued. As a PP said, it was nice not having a laughter track.
Might I recommend something on the other end of the spectrum? Mrs. Browns Boys. The cast botch it up all of the time in front of a genuine audience and everyone just has a laugh
Right now, it's on Monday nights right after Big Bang (8:30pm Mondays).
I thought it was cute - definitely a completely different kind of show than Big Bang Theory. But I had read enough going into it to not expect it to be the same type of show. Wonder Years is the show that most have equated it to and I would generally agree.
I should give it a chance, but the kid playing Sheldon annoys me. I saw an interview with him on the Today show, I think, and he's just an obnoxious little dweeb. Sorry, yeah, he's just a kid, but he makes me cringe.

Well, to be fair, Sheldon is obnoxious. He doesn’t mean to be but he is. That said, I don’t think the kid is that great of an actor. He lacks Sheldon’s...confidence? Not the right word. Just that thing, Sheldon always KNOWS he’s right. But maybe that’s the point of showing him as a kid.
I don’t get the comparisons to the Wonder Years. Not in the same league at all IMO. The grown Sheldon narrating maybe?
Just an FYI, Young Sheldon will not be on again until Thurs 11/2.
I liked it. Yes, all the funny lines had been on the commercial. But I did think it had a sweetness to it. And unlike grown Sheldon, young Sheldon seemed quite fond of his parents. I think it's well-cast.
I liked it, but I wish it would've been longer to make up for the fact that we had already seen pretty much the whole episode in the trailers. I'm interested to see how the show will progress, but may forget about it by November.
Another one who didn't care for it much at at all. Maybe too much build up and then it didn't deliver. I liked the little girl who played the sister better than 'young Sheldon'. We will give it one more shot when it comes back in Nov and then it will be off our must see list.
I kinda liked it, and I can best compare it to The Middle, but it doesnt quite have the same appeal. I'll have to see some more episodes though to make a good assessment on what I think.
We watched it but weren't all that impressed. It almost seems too forced to me. Also, where did the older brother come from? I don't recall Sheldon ever mentioning a brother before.
As soon as I saw 'Bernadette', I said to my husband, 'she's pregnant.' I love they are having her pregnant again so soon.
