My first trip down there I was 13 and we were shopping on Main Street, when I turned the corner and my mom did not know it. My mom turned around and started shouting my name and with in seconds almost every one in the store was screaming my name. Mind you I was just around the corner, so I had a look of confusion on my face. But still WDW is very good about any lost child situation. As for bringing your little one down there I think one of two things will happen, they will be very over whelmed by the crowds and not leave your side or I would use a harness and you never have to worry about it! I am not a parent yet ( but I will be in 6 months) and I love the harnesses, not just for Disney either. I will use them any where crowded like shopping in the mall during Christmas time and so forth. I hope this helps! Good luck!
