'Breaking News':

As we already know, Thom Bierdz is back but he is back in the role of Philip Chanceller the 3rd, the role he played SO many years ago. So this is one question answered; its not a long lost twin and its not some uncle and it's NOT Nina's son. He is Philip Chanceller the 3rd, Nina's husband and Jill's 'son'.

I wasn't sure which Philip he'd be playing but was hoping he'd be playing the 3rd. :thumbsup2

"We're trying to mix it up and give different characters turns at being front and center," says Co-Head Writer Scott Hamner. "We're also turning to a lot of history. Expect a lot of surprises."

Sharon/Jack/Nick/Phyllis/Billy: "The paternity of Sharon's baby will be revealed. The revelation of who the father is will launch a huge, new story art that will take us way into the fall. It'll involve all of the Newmans and Abbotts and will be a very big story that will be emotional for all of the participants. It's not just about the revelation; it goes way beyond that and redefines everyone involved."

Victor/Adam/Ashley: "Adam is going to be running amok for quite some time. The danger of Adam is not only does he have Victor in his sights, he also has Jack in his sights. He is just driven to destroy these two men at any expense and then he becomes even more of a threat because he's able to fly under the radar. He's trouble and is going to be messing things up, generating a riptide of destruction."

Paul/Nikki/Mary Jane: "Mary Jane's identity comes to light. We're seeing just the tip of the iceberg with her. We'll learn what she's in town to do, and it's going to be a really huge surprise. I think it's going to be tremendous fun. Her presence is going to affect Paul as well as everyone else on the canvas. But Paul is going to be front and center in this story."

Cane/Lily: "They both stand to lose what they value and desire the most. They have a beautiful romance, but it will be threatened."

Kay/Jill: "There are going to be huge revelations; there are still secrets about the Chancellor family history that have not yet been discovered. There are going to be triple whammies in this story."

Kevin/Jana/Daniel/Amber: "They're going to be involved in a mystery that's going going to be twofold in its revelations. It has an explosive effect on Daniel and Amber due to the reveal of one secret, but under that revelation is another twist that's going to impact Kevin and Jana."

And Baby Makes... Drama!

Although viewers are anxious to see the fallout when the identity of the father of Sharon's baby is made public, the story is much more than a paternity tale.

"The revelation of who the father is will be an event, but it's going to be complicated by the circumstances of the reveal," teases Y&R co-head writer Scott Hamner.

"It launches a huge new story arc that will take us into the fall. It's going to affect everybody. It's going to go beyond the foursome of Jack, Sharon, Phyllis and Nick; it involves all of the Newmans and Abbotts. It's going to be a very big story and powerfully emotional for all of the participants. There will be elements of heroism, tragedy, great sacrifice and some really lovely stuff with characters who are generally hostile or prickly with each other," sets up Hamner.

We can't wait!

Jack is stunned when he learns Sharon may be pregnant with Billy's child. Peter Bergman explains.

WEEKLY: Does Phyllis spill the beans on Billy and Sharon?

BERGMAN: Phyllis is the leak. Phyllis is the one whose emotions get ahead of her -- and her mouth gets going.

WEEKLY: How does she manage to leak the big secret about Billy?

BERGMAN: She wants Jack to know that he has blown it, that Jack made a deal with her to keep Sharon occupied and away from Nick, and "now it could be you or Billy or Nick as the father." And that's all Jack hears!

WEEKLY: So naturally, he has to have a big showdown with Billy.

BERGMAN: Jack is obviously very, very angry about this. But he is also heartbroken and deeply betrayed by this kid he just saved. Billy was going to be tarred and fathered in Hong Kong; they were going to run him out on a rail. Jack took over his life, brought him here, set him up with the apartment, set him up with the job and helped him with the Chloe thing. Jack did everything right, and this is the thanks he gets?

WEEKLY: Can this brotherly relationship be saved?

BERGMAN: Jack is somehow going to make this work. They wrote a scene where Jack is screaming and yelling, and I didn't really play it that way. As I told them, I wanted it to be the Fredo scene. Remember Godfather II? They're standing in Cuba on the steps, and Michael kisses Fredo and says, "You broke my heart." I wanted it to be our version of that: "You couldn't have hurt me more."

WEEKLY: Jack is such a tough businessman, but he seems to turn to mush when it comes to Sharon.

BERGMAN: He's a wuss when it comes to falling in love. This is a guy who falls in face first. He's not careful about love. He doesn't tiptoe. He isn't wise, and he gets hurt every time... every time!

WEEKLY: It's a good thing Sharon finally confesses...

BERGMAN: Sharon confessing everything is perhaps the wildest turn in the story, because you would think Jack would be livid. He was so kind, understanding and willing to overlook so many things. But he loves her, and what's he going to do? Now, he's suddenly not going to love her because he learned this information?

WEEKLY: Well, some people might act that way.

BERGMAN: Yes, some people might. The last little chip in the story is that she is possibly bearing Jack's child. He can't see straight when it comes to the prospect of having a child. There is nothing more important than family. It took him a long time to come to this realization, but he realizes that's the only thing he does care about."

Nick and Jack learn the truth about Sharon!

Jack and Nick are both delivered shocking news this week when Nick learns that Sharon's got a bun in the oven and Jack learns that she had sex with his brother. Uh-oh!

Sharon confesses the truth to Nick while they're at Cassie's grave. Instantly, Nick believes that the baby is his since Cassie's spirit said they would have another baby together. However, the possibility of Nick being the father overwhelms Sharon and she bolts from the graveyard immediately.

"She's going through a lot of emotional hell," sighs Sharon Case. "But she felt Nick needed to know about her being pregnant. It slips out."

Unbeknownst to both of them, Phyllis spies their conversation at the graveyard and it throws her for a loop. She's devastated. Later, she meets with Jack at Restless Style, and as she's unloading her troubles on him, she lets it slip that Billy could also be the father of Sharon's child.

"Jack's shocked," says Peter Bergman. "It takes him a while to even process this."

Both couples end up dancing around the truth with each other. Nick doesn't tell Phyllis about Sharon being pregnant, while Phyllis pretends she doesn't already know. Meanwhile, Jack doesn't mention anything about Billy to Sharon. He does, however, confront his brother, who doesn't deny the affair.

"Jack's furious with Billy," says Bergman. "He thinks what Billy did was completely selfish. He feels betrayed. But I think in some respects, Jack handles the news as well as he can," the actor adds. "He's just trying to make sense of it all. He realize that Sharon hasn't been completely herself lately and has been going through a tough time."

Later, Nick tells Sharon that he doesn't want to lie to Phyllis, but he doesn't want Jack acting like the father, either. Sharon pressures Nick to focus on his family with Phyllis. "Sharon doesn't want Nick to end his marriage to Phyllis unless he decides he no longer loves Phyllis," explains Case.

Jack and Phyllis end up meeting up again because they're upset about their significant others keeping secrets from them. Later, Sharon and Nick come to the conclusion that they have to spill the beans to Jack and Phyllis, unaware that they already know the truth.

"There are some great scenes ahead," teases Bergman. Case agreed: "These four characters have been in each other's lives for so long, but their story never gets old. There's always a new twist to look forward to."

Chloe Moves Out!

Chloe is mad as hell this week and she's not going to take it anymore!

It all starts when Billy is stunned to learn that Raul and Mac hooked up while they were in Darfur together -- and that Raul wants to marry her. Billy tells Raul that he's alright with it, but deep down, he isn't. When Chloe tries to be there for her despondent hubby, Billy pushes her away. To say the least, Chloe isn't happy.

They end up getting into a big argument and Billy leaves. While he's gone, a fed up Chloe tosses her clothes in a bag, puts Delia in the car and moves out. Billy returns home to find that Chloe has left him. (She's moved back into the Chancellor Mansion.)

"She's at her wit's end with Billy not stepping up to the plate. It's always that push-and-pull with him," explains Elizabeth Hendrickson. "She wants to be the one to change him. She's going to be the girl who breaks him of his bad habits." Good luck! Keep in mind, Chloe still doesn't know the truth about Billy and Sharon's affair -- yet. "She knows that something is going on between him and Jack, because she walks in on an argument that they're having. She knows that there's more to the story, but he won't tell her."

Although Billy won't talk to her, there's one person who will: Mackenzie. "She finally gets to explain to Mackenzie why she feels the way she does; because of her history," reveals Hendrickson. "Mac actually feels for Chloe. She's not the girl she's made out to be -- the manipulator, the trickster. Chloe had a really bad childhood, and she doesn't want the same for her daughter. For the first time, you see them sympathize with each other. Mackenzie herself had a very rough childhood."

Says Hendrickson, "In fact, if Billy were taken out of the equation, they would probably be able to [be friends]."

Jill ends up offering Chloe some wise advise about her philandering, troublemaker of a husband. She tells Chloe, "He's very confused, so don't go and make a bigger mistake than you really need to. Don't jump the gun." Says Hendrickson, "Chloe hears this and thinks... maybe I went a little too far."

TV Guide Canada's Nelson Branco is reporting Chris Engen (Adam) shocked the entire Y&R cast by quitting his role in the middle of his contract two days ago. According to sources, the newcomer bolted because, "he [allegedly] refused to kiss [his same-sex] co-star Yani Gellman [Rafe]. Chris hasn't been happy for a while. He doesn't like the dark direction his character is taking. He's called in sick a lot recently and has been taking a slew of meetings with Y&R's [top brass] to discuss his future on the show. Chris is still under contract - and Y&R is seriously thinking of taking legal action." Meanwhile, the No. 1 soap is currently scrambling to recast the pivotal role. Stay tuned for more details on this developing story.

These are great!! Maybe psycho Phyllis will finally get something on her mind besides stalking Sharon. It does blow my mind how she's so upset that Sharon is after Nick when she was literally after him worse than Sharon has been while he was married to Sharon. Kind of like the pot calling the kettle black....:rolleyes1
