Okay I meant to write tonight, but its MNF and I got home to cat throw up on the couch to clean up and I needed to go to Target to try and fix my decorations.
So Saturday, BF and I go out to Target so I can get decorations. I had previously bought fall garland at a craft store at a discount, before the rain we had last week. I showed him all the things I wanted to get to decorate. I get about 75% of it knowing I'm going to come back later and get the rest of it. Naughty I know, but I wanted it to be how I want it and he doesn't care.
I go back out after he leaves work, get the rest of the supplies I think I need, and get home and line everything up to get put up. To make life easier I'm going to use zip-ties to hold everything on. The garland is going along the fence in the front of the house and wrapped with LED lights in orange, green, and purple (multi purpose I feel, I can use it for Mardi Gras!). Then I have light up ghosts that get staked in the ground to line the walkway to the house. I also bring up our solar timer and extension cord from Christmas.
I start by plugging the extension cord into the solar timer and leave enough room to plug it into the house later. Then plug the ghosts into the extension cord, then the lights for the fence into the end of that and wrap it around the garland. Great! That side of the walkway is set. To get to the other side of the walkway I'm planning on using an extension cord to go over a trellis and repeat on the other side.
But here's the problem... the extension cord is three pronged, the outlet on the lights is only two pronged. So first trip is to Home Depot to look for an adapter. After being reprimanded for doing this, after explaining its for outdoor lighting exactly like they are selling in the front of the store and I'm just trying to get the electricity outside over the walkway. I'm handed an adapter and he turns away from me. Great! I head home to use the adapter. Three prong side fits fine, but there's an issue! The two prong side has one prong wider than the other and it won't fit. AUGH!!!!
So I'm not about to go back to Home Depot after they steer me in the wrong way. So I head to Target. I look if they have any two prong extension cords for outdoors. Nope. Well I can either add more lights to the display over the trellis to get to the other side, or get a really long extension cord, add it to the one I have already and try to run the walkway and over the trellis. Set of light $9.99, extension cord $9.99. I'd rather have more lights! So I look and look and look and hem and haw and decide on these really cute green, orange, and purple bat lights that will match perfectly! I am very excited, purchase them and head home.
I open up the package all excited to use them and..... I can't use the bat lights! There is a plug to plug in, but you can't connect it to another set. Darn it! By now its about 7:30pm. Luckily my neighbor with the three year old goes and ask her husband and he has something that will work so I can plug in the extension cord. She stays outside and helps me finish the other side of the yard and by now its 8pm. Its been a long three hours!
