After lunch it was a little after 1pm. I had signed up for a Disney Visa card before this trip for two reasons. #1 to get the cash back after the first purchase to cut back the price of the PhotoPass CD preorder #2 so I could get the Disney Rewards photo at Epcot. So I headed to one of the Innovention buildings. I couldn't remember if the photo was in the east or west, oh well I'd wander until I would find it. Luckily I picked the right one and there was already a line from the entrance down to the video games, the weird thing was that the line wrapped around a bench. There was a few people behind the bench and a few people in front of the bench lined up and I wasn't sure which way it went.
I tried to send BF to play video games or something while waiting. Nope he was just going to stand here with me. As 1:30 got closer a CM was coming around seeing people's cards and giving them a slip for their free photo. What ended up happening next is completely un-Disney like but for some reason seems to be happening more. The family in front of us went in front of the bench even though there were people behind the bench in line. The people behind the bench had been there longer and didn't take too kindly to the line jumpers and wanted to get us involved in the fact that this had happened.
The line got situated as best possible and of course this is the time that BF decided to go play the video games. I let him go until we were inside the queue line and asked them to please hold my spot while I ran and got him. I tried calling him first but his phone was shut off. As we headed back to the line he mentioned "I was just getting into the game!" Ugh! We got our photo with Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy!
Then we were off to Soarin' to pick up another FP and use the ones for earlier.
Disneyland was my BF's first time with Soarin' and ended up being one of his favorite rides but we kept getting row 2 or 3. So we made our way to being put in a bay and I asked if we could be in row 1 and we were! Yippee no feet in our view.
From there we headed to hit the World Showcase, if we were going to come back on Tuesday we probably weren't going to be able to hit the whole showcase since it doesn't open until 11am. Our first stop..... Club Cool! Yep I needed an A/C break and the caffeine. I got a cup and BF wasn't interested what so ever, but I made him try sips of mine. Some were good, some not so much. I didn't need to try Beverly since I had when I went to the Coca Cola factory tour in Atlanta.
Then off to Mexico. Wlake had told me about this really good PhotoPass Photographer Frank and his buddy Roy. I was really hoping to find one or both of them on this tour. While in Mexico, we went into the pyramid and did the Grand Fiesta Tour. No PhotoPass photographer here. Then Norway and over to Maelstrom, this was about 10 minutes. Still no PhotoPass photographer. Next was China, where we went into the store and I had to get a fan. I was dying from the heat. I was trying to decide whether or not to wait for Mulan. I decided against it and we headed off to the outpost, unfortunately the bridge was up to load Illuminations barges into the lake. We were very lucky to have this break, because we realized that BF had left his water bottle back in the shop in China, so back to China we go. When we got back the bridge was down. We went to the outpost and I got a frozen lemonade and we got two ice waters. Next was Germany and I got in line to meet Snow White. There were only two people in front of us and about 5 minutes until Snow White would be out.
Here is where that family in Le Cellier became important. They were the person in front of me! I remembered the little girl and we started to talk about lunch and what we had done. As I've mentioned multiple times, I do not like thrill rides. This little girl and I start talking rides and she tells me that she's been on Expedition Everest and its not that bad. She has to be like 5 or 6 and she's been on Expedition Everest? I ask her if its as scary as Space Mountain. She says no. Hmmmm. I'll have to seriously consider going on Expedition Everest now because of this little girl.
I meet Snow White who was awesome! A lot of times I felt the characters just took a photo with me and then went to move on to the next kid. A few times there were characters that would talk and play along with me and I loved that! Still no PhotoPass photographer. Weird! Next we're off to Italy and its getting windy and clouds are rolling in. We take a walk back to see the new restaurant and come back out front and there is a PhotoPass photographer on the bridge. Yippee I can get photos! I wait for the family with him to be done and stop in my track...... wait....... what does his name tag say???? Roy? As in Roy who has a friend Frank that does the other half of the showcase???? Yes! Thanks wlake! He takes a ton of pictures of us and gives us some magic shots since we were told to look for him. He says Frank is working, but he thinks he is in the front of the park and to look for James.
We blow by USA, and then we get to Japan and look through the stores there. Off to Morocco where Aladdin and Jasmine should be appearing in about 10 minutes. Turns out only Aladdin shows up. Ugh! So we walk away after standing there and continue to France, where is the most important showcase for me, Marie from Aristocats, Princess Aurora and Belle are here! Belle and the Beast are just about to go in, so there is no point to get into that line now. Marie and Princess Aurora should be out before Belle comes back out. So we wander around France and end up in the back gardens waiting for Princess Aurora (unknown to BF) and we sit and talk for awhile about trying to make things better for the rest of the trip. About time I know.
A few minutes after Aurora is due out and isn't yet, I get up and walk to where wlake's photo of Aurora was taken to start the line. Horrible I know! I get my pictures and BF even jumps in for one! Then its off to get into Belle's line, when its almost my turn I see Marie come out and I get all excited. I meet Belle again and BF gets in the photo again! Then we head over so I can meet Marie and I get in line with the kids and BF takes our photo. We head over the bridge toward the UK and meet Alice and Mary Poppins. I then head into the toy shop and meet Tigger and Pooh, BF joins in this one. Its only my 2nd time meeting them I think.
Back to Canada and its starting to rain. We head to Test Track which is closed and grab FPs. Then to Mission Space for BF, first time and he did side orange with no problem! Then over to Spaceship Earth which we liked. It was dark and nice to be cuddly for once on this trip. Then to the Photo Center for our free photo. Then we headed back to see if Test Track was open. It was with a 20 minute wait! We headed to Test Track to get in line. We got in line and I started getting nervous. I've never been on this ride. We get into the ride and we're in the first row! It wasn't horrible and we went back our with our FPs from earlier. My BF wanted front row again. The single rider in our row took the funniest photo, he was pretending to be on his cell phone during it.
Then we hurried over to use out FP for Soarin' so we could hopefully make Illuminations. We asked to be in Row 1 again and had a couple next to us who were on the ride for the first time. It was so cute to see their reactions. It was 8:50pm now and we rushed over to the lake to see Illuminations. This was the first day I remembered to bring along the glow in the dark bracelets. I meant to, but I kept forgetting them in the morning. I gave a couple to a kid and his dad in front of us and a couple to two kids in a stroller after noticing them looking at them and asking their dad if it was okay. BF loved Illuminations although it was windy and all the smoke and ash kept getting pushed in our direction. Icky!
Illumination photos next!
