"You set me up" and it only went downhill from there - Pop Sept. 2010 TR - THE END!!

I know it's just a snapshot in time, but the pictures you have of your DBF look like he's having a good time! :) And who would LOVE to eat those desserts!!??

I'm sorry you didn't like Splash Mountain -- I love the little scenes and how long it is. The drop is great -- but I didn't like the fact that another boat dropped down while we were about to go up, and totally SOAKED us!! :sad2: It felt unfair, somehow!!

I'm not a big fan of drops. And we were front row for my first time on Splash Mountain didn't help. I totally hid my face in my BF's shoulder. He was super grumpy the next day, I have no photos of him he wouldn't let me. But the day after is Epcot day and I snuck in a few, just wait until you see his face while eating at Le Cellier! How could you not be happy eating there!

WOW Dessert party looks so fun! I'm not a big fan of chocolate but other sugar is ok with me :goodvibes I didn't really see any fireworks when I was there and I kinda wished I had. Oh well maybe next time.
I don't like Splash either...too long too boring too wet HA HA HA

We upgraded from QSDP to DDP so that we would have to sit down and take a break out of our day. I had fully planned on taking a break to go back to the resort and sleep or use the pool, just to get out of the parks, but after he made that comment I wasn't going to waste a full's day ticket and especially a booking for the fireworks dessert party on the chance that we wouldn't come back by giving him a break.

When he looked tired we did the Hall of Presidents and TTA for a quick nap time. I kept asking him what he wanted to do, what rides he liked, if he was feeling okay, pretty much too many things. I chose two character breakfasts, one amazing lunch, and two dinners for our sit down meals. I also offered him use of the snack credits for anything to make him happy and he didn't use one until Monday.

Well I can't wait to hear if you made it to DHS. After a 13 hr day I'm sure you were both pretty tired.

It sounds like you were doing all you could to make it a fun trip, I'm sorry to hear your DBF was not fun to be with :sad1:

I really wanted to try and make every nighttime parade or fireworks. I love fireworks and my BF works too much so we never really get to see any at any holiday.

I was trying to challenge myself to try new rides. This trip I was determined to try Splash Mountain and Test Track.

I understand that not everyone is as diehard Disney as me and I really really tried to consider this fact when planning, but when someone gives you all the reigns and says plan whatever you want since it will be awhile until you get me back here and you plan everything and consider him and still you can't do anything right.

I'm watching Snow White and then Cars on ABC Family right now, so hopefully I'll get the HS day post up. The most magical thing happened this day, but someone couldn't appreciate any of it. I fully believe in Disney Karma.

I set the alarm to get up at 7am to get ready so we could try to get on a bus and to HS before the 8am opening for resort guests. We get there, go through bag check, and get in line for the opening. It's about 7:55am and I explain to BF leave your card out so one of us can get in line for TSM and the other can get the FP for TSM for later.

We follow the crowd to TSM and I send BF to sit in line for the ride and I get in line for FPs. I get our FPs just as BF is rounding back towards the door of the building. He noticed that the wait time was 40 minutes already! The line is moving pretty well and it slows down right around Mr. Potato Head but its been 20 minutes already. I'm just checking out all the cool things in line and then I see this:

Disne406.jpg

Sweet!

We go on the ride and our 1st set of scores end up like this:

Disne407.jpg

We then headed towards RNRRC and TOT to see if BF would go. Nope, he doesn't want to do either and I know he would love it! So we have breakfast at Fairfax Fare and while figuring out we want breakfast who stops to say hi but our DIS people from breakfast the day before. We then saw the Little Mermaid (so good!)and head back to use our FP to make today a quick day, but before using the FP I decided I wanted to try and get one more set of FPs so we could pass then on to someone else. Our FP time was for 10:15am and it was 10:18am, while we were in line for a 2nd set of FPs they ran out!

So oh well I won't go on TSM three times but two still works for me. So we headed to the FP line and this guy stops me and asks if we have FPs to use right now, because they have two to use for later 3:35pm and they were wondering if we would switch plus they would give us $20. I look at BF because he is already cranky. Its up to him if he wants to do it. He won't say anything or look at me. I look at this couple and they have the Just Married buttons on. I give my BF one more look and take their FPs and give them ours. I'm not going to take any money for a FP there is no reason as long as they aren't fake! I tell them to consider the FPs a wedding gift and to have fun.

We then meet Buzz and Woody, Lightning McQueen and Mater, go to Star Tours, and then we left to get the boat to the Beach Club, because I was hot and tired and needed a break and I was hungry.

Lunch and the rest of HS Day

I'm curious what dwarf he was. I'm sure happy or sneezy would make for a interesting trip. Maybe even doc!

Nope. . .mine was "grumpy" and the more obscure and even less well known dwarf, "I-have-to-go-to-the-restroom"! :lmao::lmao:

I'm SOOOOOO with you!!

I got grumpy with "I need bread to eat my food" he had to ask for it at 90% of meals and then some of the places we ate had "funny" bread (like The Wave's multigrain bread) and he asked for white bread. There are exception to the rule: burgers/sandwiches and pizza.

Betsy!
Today is my first day home and I just caught up on your TR.
First- it was great to meet you at the airport and I am glad you texted me in the morning- venting helps!
After we left, Ben asked why we didn't get a picture with you. Grrrrr... why didn't we think of that?

Sorry to hear the BF was being difficult. But it sounds like you were still able to have fun- I hope you didn't let him mess up your good time!

Augh! For the first time I wrote this big long story about the afternoon and it didn't post! Oh well, I'll rewrite it again once I have a moment.

Hey Joyce, It because we had been up since the wee hours of the morning and weren't thinking straight yet. Luckily we don't live too far away from each other.

I think I might have to do a solo trip either sooner or later. I was dying for you to get back so I could hear all about your trip.

We exited HS and headed towards the boat ramp. I had a "No Way Jose" calling my name! As we were approaching the boat dock they were just unloading everyone and about to load up! LUCKY! As we exited the boat one of the CMs proceeded to say "Have a nice day Grumpy!" BF had decided that today was the day he wanted to wear the Grumpy shirt I picked up for him. It said "Be Grumpy".

We took the boat to the Beach Club and after about 5 wrong turns and following this maze of a hallway around the Cape May Cafe and heading back outdoors (strangest thing ever) I found it! Beaches and Cream. We sat down to lunch with our waiter Justin, who was amazing! We weren't going to do the dining plan here because there was no way we could take down two sundaes! We both ordered burgers and ice water. It felt like hotter than the sun's surface outside. I only wanted to eat half my burger to leave room for the ice cream. Fat chance! This burger was the best burger I've had in a very long time and I almost finished the whole thing! I mean it was amazingly good! We ordered our No Way Jose and barely got down past the rim of the cup.

Afterwards, I wasn't feeling so hot, my feet hurt (yes I was switching shoes), I was tired, my head hurt all day, so we found two chairs in a hallway I deem quieter than the lobby. Little did I know at the time this hallway was used for CMs and there is a hidden door. Between the constant swoosh of the door opening and closing and people walking by I could not close my eyes and relax for the life of me! My BF didn't have this problem and doozed off for a bit. I studied the HS schedule and realized the next Beauty and the Beast stage show was at 2:15 and we might be able to make it.

So we got up and headed out for the long walk down the pier. As luck would have it, there was a boat over at the Boardwalk headed over. So we caught it and headed back to HS. Once inside the gates, we went to see Beauty and the Beast stage show, then the Block Party Bash, and we headed to the Animation Courtyard for meeting Mickey, Lotso, and the Incredibles. Lotso is so soft and fuzzy! He got sad when he saw BF's Grumpy shirt and tried to tell him to be happy. (see people could tell he wasn't happy in the happiest place on earth!)

Then we headed over to use our swapped FPs for TSM. While in line these two girls got behind us in line and we started talking. One girl looked so much like the Ariel I had met the day before. They asked if I liked this ride and I told them its my favorite and we got here at 8am so we could ride it and get a FP for later. She opens up her purse and gives me two FPs for TSM! Pixie Dust! Then a CM comes over and hands her something which she turns around and hands to me. FPs for any ride in HS for today! Major Pixie Dust! BF doesn't really think anything about all this. I'm like :worship: We all end up in the same car for the ride and the one who looks like Ariel got the high score.

We then get back in line with her TSM FPs and get back in line when the CM right before you go up the stairs asks us there's only the two of you? Yep just us two. Okay, come this way and leads us up the handicap ramp. They had an extra spot and needed two people to fill the car. Yippee! We somehow don't have to wait. We did have to wait for them to put the handicap car into the lineup before we could play. When we had finished I noticed that in the bonus round there seemed to be a rock laying on the tracks that looked like it was shaped in a Mickey head. Hmmmmm.

We talked about whether to pass on the other FPs we were given to another couple or to use them ourselves. I really only wanted to play TSM 2 or 3 times and now I had a possiblity of a 4th! BF said let's just use them you like this ride. Here's how ride #4 went:

I didn't see the Mickey shaped stone this time, so maybe only one side sees it? I couldn't believe it, I got to ride TSM three times in under 1/2 hour! It so was lucky to meet those girls and so sweet of them to pass on their extra FPs.

We headed out after this to catch the bus to the Contemporary and have dinner at The Wave.

Hi there! I remember reading your PTR so I was happy to run into this!

I also have a Disney Grump...well, at least I think he will be. But I have all the faith in the world that once I get him there he will make his transformation! :rotfl:

I am 47 days out and my PTR is below if you want to venture over. I cant wait to hear how you made out with the rest of your trip. My Grump can be moody at the worst posible moments too, and the whole 'you set me up' thing...I swear that could have come out of his mouth! :sad2:

Can't wait to hear about what you thought of the Wave...

Just wait till I get to our DHS day(s)... you'll really feel lucky about your TSM experience!

I totally was thinking that the bus was going to take a long time to get here and stop everywhere else before getting to the Contemporary where we had our reservation for dinner. I was really excited about dinner. I had heard great things about the food, although not so great things about slow service and long waits for tables.

Within 10 minutes of getting the the bus stop, a bus pulled up and the first stop was the Contemporary! Yippee! But this meant we had like an hour to kill before our reservation. We went upstairs and checked out the shops, watched the monorail and took in the whole atmosphere.

We went back downstairs, where BF studied the menu to find something he would eat. I had planned on him having a steak. When it doubt give him a steak. We checked in and sat in the lounge, just as we started getting comfortable and relaxed our pager went off.

We got to our table, got two ice waters and examined the menu. We were both getting the steak but BF wanted to see if he could get fries instead of the potatoes or the ratatouille. I usually have to explain certain things on the menu to him, not that I would eat them, but because I watch way too much FoodTV.

I got the Mega-berry Smoothie as my drink, it was really refreshing and gave some energy.

Sooooo good!

BF's need for white bread and his Grumpy shirt

Disne424.jpg

Then came our beef tenderloins (sorry for the blurry picture)

Disne429.jpg

Ummm $30 plate? I don't think so, but the beef and potatos were amazingly good. The ratatouille was mostly mushrooms on my plate which I really don't care for.

Dessert I forgot to take a picture of, but BF got Creamy Indulgence while I got the Decadent Flavors.

Dinner was really good, there just wasn't enough food. As BF said as we were leaving... I feel like I just ate an appetizer. Where's dinner?

Afterwards we walked to the Magic Kingdom to see the Electrical Parade

I'm going to have to read it when I get home....well maybe tomorrow Grumpy has today off. If I could do it all over again, I would tell him about the dessert party (since I paid for it), and make sure dinners were at resorts or off park grounds and wake up early get the park done and leave no later than 3pm so BF could have a bunch of down time. But I love fireworks and parades and twinkly lights so I packed it full, plus he said he wouldn't come back for ten years!

Uh oh! I was wondering when you were getting to Disney and if I could call and be like get your butt over to HS to ride TSM now! All I could remember was that you were going to MK EMH and HDDMR on Labor Day. Random I know!

OUCH! 10 years?? Yikes!:scared1:

I have planned in a bit of downtime and honestly, all of what I have planned can be flexible for that purpose. Did he not like the dessert party? Was it a surprise? (I cant remember)

Thankfully my Grump gets up at ungodly early hours so it will be me who will have to be dragged out of bed.

I wont ask if he will stick to his 10 year guns since I dont want to ruin the end of the TR but I am sending pixie dust your way that he will go back long before then! :goodvibes
