You Said What to Alice and the White Rabbit?-the end, 1/10 pg 15

I know that one of his tests today is an ultrasound. I am anxious to see what it actually is. I predicted all along it could be his gall bladder. Good to know the recovery isn't that bad. Thank you for sharing! Hope you do well with your surgery.

I hope Tom is on the mend soon. Thoughts and prayers for him to have a quick resolution to his pain.

Just catching up over here. Sorry to hear about your other half not feeling well. Let us know about the results, and we will certainly keep him in our thoughts and prayers for quick solutions. He's too nice of a guy to be hurting! :) I hope he starts feeling better and you are able to go and enjoy your trip to its fullest.

Well, life has got in the way of my dising yet again. Not sure I will get this report done tonight or not. If not, will do once I get back next week.

I did want to update you on Tom. He had his tests on Tuesday and learned his gall bladder will have to be removed. It is full of gall stones. He also has a fatty liver which the only way to fix is through diet. I have been reading up a lot on both the removal procedure and how to best help him with the fatty liver issue.

The surgeon is out of town until Monday so I am calling today to get him an appt next week. Jeremy and I are still heading to Disney. Tom insisted. Right now it is not an emergency issue to have it removed so I am hopeful he will be okay. It still worries me being so far away in case something was to happen but we can always catch an earlier flight home if need be.

Keep him in your prayers. I am not so much worried about the surgery as getting him motivated to change his eating habits and exercising. If he doesn't, the liver could become a bigger problem down the road.

Thanks for all your concern. I will keep you posted. I really appreciate all my Dis friends.

Hey Erika! I have been MIA since Baby has been born...so busy around here! I;m all caught up on your TR! Cant believe that your trip is now! :woohoo: So exciting! Hope ya'll have a great time and enjoy your Mother/Son time! We were actually suppose to be a Disney over next week too but changed that plan once I found out that baby would only be 2 months olds...but if I knew he was going to be such a great baby, I would've kept our thanksgiving trip! Oh well...always another time! I am trying to work on a trip to Disneyland next summer.

Sending prayers for Tom! I had my gall bladder removed about 4 years ago....I was in so much pain and finally found the right doctor to determine what the problem was! Once it was gone...I was great! :)

Cant wait to read all about the trip and see pics!:goodvibes

Just stopping by to let you know I'm all caught up!! I hope you and Jeremy are having a wonderful time in Disney, filled with amazing mommy/son memories. I'm also praying for Tom and hope the surgery will help with the pain and discomfort.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

Is Tom having his gall bladder removed arthoscopically (sp?)? I had mine removed 8 years ago, right after Zachary was born. I had the procedure done on the same day as trick or treat & I didn't want to miss it so I was out trick or treating that night! Not something I'd recommend as I was walking around bent over in a little pain. But for the most part it was a really easy recovery. I hope it goes well for Tom & that everything is OK while you & Jeremy are gone on your trip! :goodvibes

Also wanted to add that I love all of your trip plans! Good news... I wasn't expecting to see it, but the tree was up at Epcot when we were there earlier this month!! I think it was up on our very first day which was 11/8.

Hello everyone!!! I wanted to let everyone know that Jeremy and I had a great time on our trip. It was so relaxing and lots of fun.

However, I came home to a very sick hubby. Tom's gall stones are getting the best of him so we decided that in order to speed up the surgery we switched surgeons this week. We met with him today and are very happy about the change. He will be having surgery Monday. The surgeon doesn't think it will be a big deal however during his pre op tests they now have some concerns about his heart. It is beating much less than what it should in a minutes time. :confused3 I really have no idea what that means other than Tom seemed worried when he came out and told me they were going to have the anesthesiologist and surgeon look at. Please keep him in your prayers. He is now off work until he is able to go back after the surgery which could be at least 2-3 weeks due to his job and the phsyical demands of it.

I am in the middle of getting my companies budget done to present to the board so my dising time has been limited. Hopefully I can finish this report this weekend and start my new one!!! I took over 590 pictures! :)

Hope each of you had a nice Thanksgiving!

Welcome Back!

So sorry to hear about Tom and his GB. I hope he can get his surgery done quickly. A slow heart rate may be absolutely normal, but they may want to have an "official" cardiology clearance which might be an echo and/or stress test.

So glad you had a wonderful time, but take your time with your TR and get things straightened out with Tom.

Good to hear that you had a great trip. :thumbsup2

Not so good to hear about Tom, but hopefully the surgery will be a quick fix and he will be feeling better pretty much right away. ::yes::

I will enjoy the pictures when you have the time. Doing trip reports takes time, and sometimes we just don't have that.

I'm glad that you and Jeremy were able to get away and enjoy some time together, sounds like you needed that get away to charge up to take care of Tom.....
Wishing him the best of all outcomes with his surgery!

Oh goodness. I am sorry Tom was worse when you came back.

Hopefully a cardiologist can "clear" him and the slow heart rate is normal for him.

I hope his surgery goes well and he is feeling better once it is done.

We will be all be here when things slow down so you can finish up and start the new one.

Wishing all my Dis Friends a very, Merry Christmas! Hope you have a magical holiday with your family! :santa:

I promise to finish this report by New Years and start my new one soon! Life has been very hectic lately. I did want to tell you that Tom came through his surgery great and is feeling much better. He goes back to work on New Years Eve. Thank you for all the prayers!

Merry Merry Christmas to you, too!! So glad to hear Tom is doing better... that's the best Christmas gift of all!!

And you are SOOOOO not alone in your inability to finish your trip report due to life's complications!! I'll hang in for you, if you do the same for me!

So glad to hear that Tom's surgery went well! Wishing you and your family a wonderful holiday season. :santa: Looking forward to an update when you get the time! :flower3:

So happy to hear that Tom's surgery went well! I am still waiting to have mine. It was scheduled for Dec 2nd, but cancelled just before surgery due to a cold I had. Now I am waiting to be able to reschedule the surgery. My husband will be gone most of January (3rd-25th) so hopefully we can get it scheduled for soon after he gets back!
