You Said What to Alice and the White Rabbit?-the end, 1/10 pg 15

Cute Jeremy pictures! Glad I finally am home to see them!!!!!!

One Week From Today......

To say that I am getting excited would be an understatement. I am over the moon thrilled that in one week I will be back to my happy place and enjoying it with just Jeremy. I think this will be one of the best trips ever and we will have such good times.

With that said, it will be a little different not having Tom there. It hits me every now and then and makes me a little sad as this was supposed to be the celebration for our 10 year anniversary. We had decided in February that instead of doing anything then, we would go to Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and those plans changed to buying DVC and going back over Thanksgiving. Of course, we added summer into the mix and it appears that we will be back for Spring Break as well so I can't complain!

So, one week from today, Jeremy and I will get up early to tell Tom bye as he heads to work. I am sure there will be no going back to bed so we will get ready and finish the last minute packing and head to Lexington Airport in Kentucky.

Depending on time, we may stop for breakfast at Cracker Barrel. It is a family tradition that cannot be broken. :rolleyes1 I want to get to the airport no later than 10:00. It is a relatively small airport so I know there will no long lines however it will be our first time flying Airtran and I have read that they tend to board super early.

We will be in the air no later than 11:30. (Side note: the pictures I am sharing are from our November 2008 and some from September 2009 trip so there is about 50 pounds more of me than there is now!!!)

IMG_0886.jpg

Our flight touches down close to 1:30. We will have to find baggage claim as I want to get our suitcase and take with us on Magical Express. I want to make sure I have it with us so we can be ready for the evening and not be late.

Oh, how nice it will be to see this bus!

IMG_2414.jpg

I think there are two stops before ours and by mid-afternoon we will be arriving at the Boardwalk. This will be our fist time staying here so I know we will have lots of fun exploring the resort.

Hopefully our room will be ready and we can get some lunch. Plans are to get a short nap that afternoon and head to the MK around 5 to enjoy.........

IMG_1553.jpg

I will be keeping my eye on the weather the next week and I am hoping beyond hope that there will be no rain this time around. The one and only time we did the party before it rained off and on most of the night. We had fun but did not get our money's worth that night. Only part of the parade ran and we never saw any characters or was able to see the castle show.

IMG_1573.jpg

I would like to catch the castle light show first thing and get some great pictures this time. I can't find any from 2008! :confused3

The we will grab something to eat while standing in line to wait and see these guys!

IMG_2548.jpg

There are some must dos the rest of the evening and we will go with the flow on how it gets done. I am sure Jeremy will want to see the parade twice so we will probably watch it the first time in Frontierland and then once the crowds clear out we will watch it on Main Street.

IMG_1563.jpg

IMG_1566.jpg

Here is the list of must dos per Jeremy:

see 7 Dwarves
Christmas Parade
Holiday Wishes
Castle Stage Show
List of Characters (yes, he made a list last night!!!! I think the tweeness is gone for a while and the little boy in him is coming out!!! :santa:)-Belle and the Beast, Duffy the Bear, Cinderella with the Stepsisters, Mickey and Minnie, Tiana and Naveen, and Rapunzel and Flynn Rider. Oh, and Captain Jack--I can't forget him....I want to see him!!

I know we will stop for cocoa and cookies along the way. And if time allows, we will hit the last show in tomorrowland. If not, no biggie. I miss that they no longer do the Night before Christmas. We loved that one.

IMG_1204.jpg

IMG_1201.jpg

IMG_1212.jpg

IMG_1225.jpg

IMG_1230.jpg

It will be a long day so we will head back once the party is over (yes, we are planning to be night owls this trip and stay out past mighnight!!!). I am sure we will drift off to sleep with visions of sugar plums in our head...

I thought I would end each of these posts with todays goal to get ready for the trip:

1. Clean the house and get all laundry caught up so I won't be far behind for next week.
2. Update my park hours and make schedule for MVMCP with list of all characters and where they are.
3. Go to doctor and get stitches out of my neck. I had spots removed from my face and neck last week. All turned out fine but the neck stitches are in my hairline and come out today. I can hardly wait. They have been a pain trying to fix my hair.

Tomorrow's post will probably be later in the day. We have a cub scout function all day tomorrow. We will have 30 scouts enjoying the bb and archery ranges at our council's camping facilities. Please say a quick prayer that we don't go insane!!! Tomorrow is also a big anniversary for me. Can anyone guess what happened a year ago that changed my life for the best? Lady Lallie should be able to guess this!!!

Gosh, I have no idea unless its the day you bought DVC. What a great choice picking DVC over the Macy's Thanksgiving parade! :thumbsup2

Very excited for you with your trip being only a week away!!!! :woohoo::yay::woohoo::yay::woohoo: That is awesome. Sorry your DH can't be there, but I am certain the two of you will have a wonderful time!

Good luck with your stitches today!

I am determined to get this summer report done and it should only take a few more posts for that to happen. Photo bucket was giving me fits last night or I could have probably completed it today. In looking at my pictures, I think this is the point where I had it with my camera. I didn't take many pictures the last few days of the trip so these last posts will be short and sweet. My camera had been giving me fits the whole vacation and finally bit the dust a month ago. I have yet to replace it and been using the camera my dad bought Jeremy for Christmas last year. :confused3 Yes, I know who would buy an 8 year old a digital camera for Christmas---leave it to my father. It is coming in handy now until I go buy a new one. I hope to find one on sale Black Friday.

July 1, 2011

So, looking at my pictures last night, it dawned on me that we did not make it to the MK this day but opted for Blizzard Beach. Since we had been before, I left the camera in the room so there are no pictures that day. We had tons of fun, especially Jeremy and I. I could really tell the difference my weight made here and we rode a lot of rides I would have never gotten on the year before. Of course, my families favorite was teamboat springs and we rode it several times that day.

That evening we ventured over to the Beach Club for dinner at Cape May Cafe. All I can say is Yum!!! That was a wonderful meal. After dinner, we took the boat over to the Boardwalk.

I had always wanted to try something every time we have stayed at WL. But somehow, we never did it. So, I was determined that this trip I was going to ride a surrey bike.

IMG_5500-1-1.jpg

We all three hopped on a four seater and took off. It was lots of fun until we reached the first tiny hill. Oh my, I thought I would die trying to peddle so hard to get up that thing. If you stopped you were doomed. The other hill on the way back was worse. :scared1: To make it worse, we chose to go around a second time. Now honestly, it probably would have been better if Tom and I both were in better shape. Granted I may be 50 pounds lighter but I still have a ways to go. In the end, I am glad we did it and would love to ride a surrey bike again......on flat ground.

We looked around the Boardwalk a bit and enjoyed the entertainment.

When we got back to BLT we went to the Top of the World lounge and enjoyed Wishes. That lounge is a true gem in my opinion. What a great view!

IMG_5502.jpg

July 2, 2011

This is the day we finally got back to the MK and made it for rope drop. :woohoo:

Tom went and got FP for Splash and Jeremy and I hit up Dumbo first thing.

IMG_5504.jpg

Progress is being made!! I wonder if there will be a Beast castle set in the future......

IMG_5505.jpg

As we were getting off Dumbo, Jeremy noticed that Mary Poppins had come out and he got very excited. He had never met Mary Poppins before. He and I had finally watched the movie this past Easter (I know---I can't believe we had never seen it before either). So off he ran to get in line.

IMG_5508.jpg

Mary was just perfect that day and spent time talking to him. She asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up and when he said and Imagineer she thought that would be the most perfect job for him. He was grinning from ear to ear.

IMG_5509.jpg

I know we rode everything that morning in Fantasyland and then headed to the Haunted Mansion. Jeremy was finally willing to ride it.

IMG_5511.jpg

IMG_5512.jpg

It was lots of fun and we all really enjoyed it.

We then rode POTC and the Jungle Cruise. Afterward, my boys enjoyed the boats next to the JC.

IMG_5513.jpg

IMG_5514.jpg

On our way back to Frontierland, we hit up Aladdin's carpets and Jeremy and I went up the treehouse.

IMG_5517.jpg

IMG_5519.jpg

IMG_5520.jpg

IMG_5521.jpg

IMG_5522.jpg

We rode Splash Mountain and dried off on Big Thunder Mountain. We decided it would be nice to ride over to Tom Sawyer Island.

IMG_5523.jpg

IMG_5524.jpg

IMG_5525.jpg

We just walked around and went over the barrel bridge. It was starting to get really hot and we had been to every land except for Tomorrowland. We still had two days left at Disney so we opted to head back to the pool.

Jeremy really enjoyed the pool games this trip.

IMG_5526.jpg

IMG_5527.jpg

Up Next:

Will we make it in time to meet our dis friends?
Do we ever go to DHS?
What did Jeremy say to Alice?

Gosh, I have no idea unless its the day you bought DVC. What a great choice picking DVC over the Macy's Thanksgiving parade! :thumbsup2

Good luck with your stitches today!

We bought DVC in March. You may not know what I did last year as it was part of my pre-trip. I will post about it tomorrow!!

We are getting excited as well. I talked to Tom a while ago and he said Jeremy is planning Disney movie night for us to lead up to next Friday. :) He was all excited about it getting ready for school this morning. I can't keep from smiling when I think about it. I am so glad he loves Disney as much as I do.

First. I'll say you had your surgery a year ago!
Second. Yay Jeremy for riding HM! Now he needs to ride it with our expert Jen to tell him all the secrets...
Finally. I'm getting so excited for you! Meeting the characters will be so much fun at the party! I'm a little sad that we are missing all of the parties by the time we arrive on Christmas Day.

I will second that you had your surgery last year.

You had a fun filled day at MK. Glad that Jeremy did HM.

Less than a week. In one week you will be in Disney. :cool1:

:yay:You are right Anita!!!

Ooo, I bet it would be fun to ride with Jen.

I am looking forward to the party. It will be so much fun.

:yay: You are right as well Pat.

:dance3::cheer2:I can hardly wait!! It is getting so close and I am getting soooo excited.

Don't worry Jeremysdisneymom, I have a sibling that's much like Jeremy: my own sister Freya. She's 13 and can be very annoying and whingy at times though she does like Disney she can be quite a handful to be with most of the time anyways. But it's good to know that Jeremy enjoyed himself. But ya know something? All that talk about meeting characters is childish wasn't the matter of hating them it was just a matter of warming up to them. Like they always say you can never be too old for Disney World.

So in typical Erika fashion, I am running behind...AGAIN! The weekend was just to busy to post and my computer at home would not cooperate for nothing. So, there will be 3 days of 1 day from today......

1 Week from Today---Saturday

I have a feeling that even keeping late hours the night before, we will be up and at the Epcot rope drop coming in through the International Gateway. This will be a first for us so hopefully I can figure out where it is!!!

Not sure if Epcot's Christmas decorations will be up yet or not. If so, we might see something pretty like what we saw in 2008.

IMG_1373.jpg

We wills start the morning riding our favorites: Soarin, Livin with the Land, Test Track, Journey into the Imagination with Figment, and Spaceship Earth.

Oh, and Nemo!!

IMG_1402.jpg

However, I don't think there will be any Kidcot stations this year like we did at Thanksgiving 2008.

IMG_1411.jpg

I am sure we will enjoy some Innoventions fun.

IMG_1421.jpg

At 11:00, we will venture into the World Showcase starting on the Canada side.

IMG_1466.jpg

Not sure if we will have enough time for the movie in Canada. If not, we will come back as we have never seen it before and I really want to this trip.

Our destination will be leading us to Paris.

IMG_1467.jpg

We will have lunch with a dear friend at Chefs De France...

IMG_5371.jpg

After lunch, we will continue around the world showcase after seeing the French film (another must this trip). There will be some shopping in Germany to bring Tom home some caramel corn.

I don't think Jeremy will do any masks like he did in 2008.

IMG_1434.jpg

Now, if it is warm enough for Jeremy to swim this day, we will head back to the Boardwalk and enjoy the scary clown pool!

As for the evening, it will be a go with the flow night. We may head to DTD, go back to MK, or head to DHS.

I am sad that since we are traveling earlier this year we will not get to see one of my favorite Disney events.

IMG_1480.jpg

I am sure Santa and Mrs. Claus will not be in Epcot yet. There is always next year.....

IMG_1488.jpg

However, maybe I will get lucky and their tree will be up.

IMG_1492.jpg

Now as far as goals for the trip on Saturday....There wasn't any. We spent the day with our cub scout pack on the bb and archery ranges. It was lots of fun but we were worn out when we got home. If you saw my facebook page, you noticed that I got a BB bullseye. It was the first time I had ever shot a gun of any type and I was super happy.

1 Week from Today-Sunday

Jeremy and I will be headed to DHS this day. It will probably be one of those "stay at the park all day" days.

IMG_0995.jpg

I am hoping that Daisy and Donald will be out in their Hollywood attire so we can get some pictures with them. I had saw it on other posts and would love to see them as Daisy is my favorite character.

IMG_0960.jpg

IMG_0944.jpg

I plan to be there at rope drop so we can head to TSM and FP and hop in line.

IMG_0991.jpg

Our list of must dos is:

Beauty and the Beast show
One Man's Dream
Backlot Tour
Great Movie Ride
Indiana Jones

Depending on how the day goes, we might add in some new things such as American Idol, Drawing Class, and Lights, Motor, Action. Our real reason for staying all day is we would like to see the afternoon parade.

Plans for the evening will be seeing a favorite Holiday event....

IMG_1271.jpg

IMG_1263.jpg

IMG_1272.jpg

IMG_1288.jpg

We may go to Fantasmic this night for the last showing as well.

Trips Goals for Sunday were to start laying out the clothes (didn't happen---I will post as to why in next update) and put up Christmas tree so I don't have to when we get home (done!!! Yes, my tree is up!).

1 Week from Today

With only 5 days of Disney and really only 4 full park days, we will head to MK today even though I think it will be crowded.

I have an early breakfast reservation at Crystal Palace.

IMG_2733.jpg

However, I am not sure we will keep it. I will decide by Saturday so we can cancel and someone else can have it.

If we don't do breakfast, we will definitely watch the opening show which is a favorite of mine and Jeremy.

IMG_2698.jpg

We will hit as many of our favorites this day as possible.

IMG_1500.jpg

IMG_1499.jpg

IMG_1521.jpg

We might take in a parade. Who knows, Jeremy might even join in the fun!

IMG_2719.jpg

IMG_2747.jpg

We are definitely staying to see the afternoon parade.

IMG_2781.jpg

At some point, we are doing to take a MK break and visit the monorail resorts and go over to WL to see the Christmas decorations.

IMG_0893.jpg

IMG_1075.jpg

We will head back to the MK in the evening to see Wishes and our favorite night time parade.

IMG_3684.jpg

Today's Goal: Laundry, laundry, laundry!!! I am still not caught up like I need to be.

Get my park hours cards done!

With that said, my excitement level has gone down a lot for this trip. Tom has not been feeling well for a few weeks. He has been hurting a lot in his stomach near his chest. The pain got worse last week. However, he would not go to the doctor. :confused3 I conned him into going with me Friday to get my stitches out and the doctor examined him. He said it was definitely not his heart but thought something could be going on with his acid reflux. He had him double his meds over the weekend and take some over the counter medicine. It didn't help and the pain/pressure has gotten worse. He went to the doctor this morning and they think it could be his gall bladder or something going on with his stomach. He has two tests in the morning and we should know something by Wednesday. Please keep him in your prayers.

Oh No - I am so sorry that Tom is not feeling well. Thank goodness his PCP does not think its his heart. Is he going to need an endoscopy before you go? I hope he starts to feel much better by the time you leave. fingers crossed and prayers going your direction.

Love, love, love all your park plans and I really hope there are tons of Christmas decorations up that you can enjoy.

Keep us posted re: Tom!

Thanks Mary Ellen. I think they are going to start with an ultrasound and some other x-ray. He called me earlier and said he had wrote down at home. I don't think it is an endoscopy as he told me he would be able to drive himself home. He does have to drink something before hand so I am not sure what that test that would be for.

I really hope a lot of the decorations will be up. They were when we were there in 2008.

Well I had quite a few updates to get caught up on!!

First of all I LOVE Jeremy's pumpkin. How creative!:thumbsup2 Good job!

Love the pics from AKL & the bird laying on the eggs!! How cute.

Glad you enjoyed your stay at BLT. In my dreams I will stay there.:goodvibes
Although I have stayed at BC & just love it there so much so that we are dolling out the $$$ to stay there in April with the boys. They have never stayed there & I want them to experience it.

I am so excited for you & Jeremy for your upcoming trip but I am praying for Tom. Please let us know how he does with his tests. Thoughts & prayers for him.

Long time lurker here (as I don't have much tiime to post with a new baby in the house). But I wanted to say that I totally get your reservations about getting excited about your upcoming trip. I actually found out on Friday night that I have to have my gallbladder removed due to gall stones & a contracted gallbladder, waiting on a referral so I can schedule it. I found out by having an ultrasound after going to the ER with severe stomach & chest pains. They said the surgery schould be quick & easy and the recovery should only take a couple of days. Luckily because mine wasnt inflamed or infected the surgery isnt something that has to be done right away (although I will be scheduling it as soon as possible). Just wanted to say if it is what Tom needs done, the surgery isnt usually an emergency & the recovery is relatively easy!

I let Jeremy "chug" all of our pumpkins last night into the woods behind our house. I had just Mickey's base setting on my porch and a raccoon got in it! It was time for them to go.

Ooo, I want to stay at BC. Stormalong Bay looks like so much fun.

Tom has his tests today. We are supposed to know something tomorrow.

I know that one of his tests today is an ultrasound. I am anxious to see what it actually is. I predicted all along it could be his gall bladder. Good to know the recovery isn't that bad. Thank you for sharing! Hope you do well with your surgery.
