You must do Hoop De Doo!!!

Don't get me wrong every once and a while, someone will post that they don't care for it, but they are in the minority.

Yup, I'm one of those in the minority. Saw the show once, had a few laughs, couldn't eat the gross food. So glad to have crossed it off our list for good.

Awww sorry it wasn't for you! You gave it a try though.

There are some folks who prefer the luau, not many, but they do exist. HDDR is not everyone's cup of sangria! It takes me 2 lapu lapus to enjoy the luau, but some of my family members love it! Different strokes, ya know!

We did the HDDR for the 1st time this past June and we absolutely loved it!!! We loved everything about it. We'll definitely be returning during our next trip which is May 26-June 4. I can't wait to book our ADR's!!! :thumbsup2

Question for you all. I see on Deb's site that HDDR has a 90 day booking window. Will this revert back to 180 days once that starts again on Oct 27, or is it always 90 days only? TIA!

Yep! It will revert to 180.

Back in the day HDDR was a 365 day event, this was before the category seating, the earlier you booked the better your table.

I made reservations for Hoop De Doo somewhat hesitantly. Even after reading all the positive reviews I just wasn't sure that it would be my family's kind of thing. Well, all three of us (DH-45, me-37, and DS-8) agreed that it was the highlight of our trip and would be a requirement for all of our future trips.

The show is so corny that it's hysterical and the food is really yummy. We have NEVER heard my 8 year old son laugh so hard. He was literally laughing out loud so hard that he said he needed oxygen because he couldn't breathe. I'm talking slapping the table, laughing so hard that no sound was coming out laughing. My husband and I also laughed out loud through the whole show (I'm sure the sangria helped with that a bit!!).

It was also the only meal that my son inhaled - he's really picky and usually eats nothing but cheese pizza during the entire vacation. I think the show put him in such a good mood that he was willing to try new food!!

I looked around and noticed that EVERYONE of all ages was laughing and having a great time. Since it was free dining we didn't have to pay for it -it is rather expensive but my DH said he would have happily paid out of pocket for the experience and will do so in the future. Really, you HAVE to do it!!

Ditto. Couldn't have said it better myself!:thumbsup2

Wow. In all of our trips, I've never really given much thought to doing the HDDR....even stayed at WL a bunch of times! Guess I'll have to give it some consideration in the future. I just don't like being tied down to a show time knowing that I will be charged whether I show up or not. I get nervous to commit to being there when there are so many things that could prevent us from making the show. With young kids you just never know. Maybe once they are a little older I'll feel better about booking the dinner shows.

Thanks for the positive reviews.

We've seen it nine times (first time in 1993 and the eight trips after that). The show has not changed at all although the menu has changed a little every now and then. We're taking a break from it for awhile but I agree it is something everyone should do once. One of our favorite reasons to go is to get there early and sit on the porch at Trails End and have a mixed drink, especially during Christmas time with the decorations. We also prefer to go at the last show (9:30) as the actors seem a little more interactive and there's a lot less people there.

We've done this show many times and I find the humour is a little more colourful at the 9:30 show as well. (Nothing inappropriate though) We did this again in Sept and had a ball. The food is ok but you are really paying to be entertained and drink :)
