Yes, Rascal Flatts were great. Love them. And I'd say they definitely sang their stuff. And Christina is probably the only singer in her age group with a truly beautiful voice. I like her newest incarnation infinitely better than the XXXTina thing she had going on previously. Ick!

They were good, it was live they actually messed up in one part. It is all about dancing now though with most artists.

I like some of the current stuff. But some of it is painful. I consider myself an open minded mom, but I just find myself wondering how some of these people get recording contracts. I guess if they look good enough, it doesn't matter.

Nah don't I'm 20 and wonder the same thing. The ones who truly can sing don't get the reconginition they deserve or they had to work their butt off to earn their respect.

Yeah, what she said! I listen to such a wide variety of stuff: R&B, classic rock, country, old-school rap, hip-hop, jazz, even some classical. But some of the junk that's on Top 40 stations now is just horrid! I guess if you're willing to flash your navel or pierce your eyebrow, you can get a recording contract regardless of talent (or lack thereof).

I can actually name on ten fingers if not less, artists I like that aren't country. Josh Kelley, Charles Kelley ( though he's country now), Kelly Clarkson, Christina, JC Chasez, that's all I can think of. I would much rather listen to country over Top 40 now.

I went through a spell a few years ago when I was so tired of the junk on the radio that I thought I'd give country a try. Well that didn't last too long, so I just started listening to talk radio!

I think alot more plays into the fact it's the biggest genre here, go figure and it's just so darn addicting for me.

Yup! I listen to lots of talk radio too. But not when the kids are around. Some of those heated discussions are not appropriate for 5 and 7 y.o.'s!

Those are the times when I put on a Toby Keith CD. I don't go for any twangy, whining-about-my-tractor type of country stuff, but I do love Toby, Rascal Flatts, Josh Turner, and lots of others.
