You Know You Had a Great Disney Cruise When . . .

(1) Your 4 year old wakes up on disembarkation day and says, "I think I need to go to the Club for a few hours before we go home."

(2) You consider taking fruit off of the ship in the hopes that you'll be detained by customs -- ON the ship.

(3) When you get home, you can't find anything acceptable to eat because you have no filet mignon or sushi grade tuna in your house.

(4) You realize that your 1 year old learned a dozen new words on a 5 day cruise, including "hot dog", "Mickey", "Minnie", "fish", and "ice cream head".

(5) When you get home, you start browsing the 2005 rates.

(6) Your 4 year old asks why you didn't put a towel elephant and a chocolate on her bunk bed.

(7) You snuggle the family on the couch and watch Sleeping Beauty before bed to try to extend the magic just a little longer.

(8) The whole family has already looked at all 250 digital pictures -- at least 5 times.

(9) When your husband went to get the mail, he convinced the neighbors to take a Disney cruise with us next year.

(10) You're already reading the "Live from the 10/2 Magic" posts and pouting.

I totally hear you Marcy specially number 10 I cant help but look. I am so addicted to Disney Cruise Line because of my cruise on the Wonder. Anything to have just a little piece of the ship. I am glad that you cruise went well!

Good ones, Marcy!

I'm glad that you ended up having such a great trip- with all of the "bumps in the road" it's good to hear that in the end you had a great trip!

PS- Your girls are very cute and I love their tropical dresses!

You know you had a great Disney cruise when...

Your son tells you that it is your birthday every day you are on a Disney cruise because it is "Magic".

You could not be more right! After our 9-19 cruise we had a small wait at MCO and I spent most of the time in the Disney store. Then while waiting at the gate I looked at all the videos we had taken, mainly Dreams. But I knew it was over when I could only eat one bite of my airline meal and had to stop because it was nothing like the dinner I had the night before at Palos! But I still came home and watched Little Mermaid!

Marcy, sounds like you all had a wonderful time! Would love to see more of the 250 pictures! The one of your girls is adorable.

DH was having such a fit before the cruise over the price, I told him this was going to be our last cruise. We took our first August of 2001. He keeps talking about how great it was. I'm hoping that he will be "converted" and will agree that for the price, Disney is a great deal.

:worship:

Marcy,

I loved reading your post. Our family is going on the 10/9 Magic. We can't wait!! I have been following your posts on the boards and loved hearing about your trip. The good and the bad. It has been a huge help. Thanks for all the info.

You Know You Had a Great Disney Cruise When . . .

1) You compare every meal, every activity, every minute to "When we were on the Magic..."

2) You keep looking for your stateroom host to ask him for more ice and what towel animal will we have tonight?

3) Your 79 year old mother can't find anything to look at because there isn't a verandah to sit on and just watch the ocean go by.

:smooth:

4) You started to cry when you boarded the ship and they announced your name and now you're crying even harder as you leave.

5) Every time the itinerary changed because of storms you keep saying "That's just another reason we have to come back and do it again!" (We were on the 9/11 Magical Mystery Cruise. ;) )

Thanks Marcy for your post and for reminding me how great it was.

Your 8 yr old dd is in tears because you have to get off the ship and she doesn't WANT to spend 9 days at the WORLD. She even says she'd give up NINE days at WDW for just FOUR more on the ship.....

which makes her mom cry. :(

LOL! I recently went on a 'round the world business trip which included stops at Paris' CDG airport and Hong Kong airport. Asked my wife what she might like me to bring back and her answer? "See if there's a Disney store in each airport and bring me something back."

Found one in the Hong Kong airport but, unfortunately, it was the same stuff you can find stateside.

I'll throw this one out... and it's a true story; just happened tonight in fact. Next March is my 10th anniversary. My wife is expecting diamonds. We have the 12/11/04 eastern currently booked as a family trip, she's expecting another trip in March for our anniversary, and I'm looking at the budget trying to understand how all this is going to happen.

So I ask my wife "would you be willing to receive your anniversary gift a few months late in order to go on this cruise?"

Her answer - "of course!" - without even batting an eye.

I say go for the cruise instead of the diamonds and buy her some cubic zirconia in the shape of Mickey heads. :earsboy:

Thanks! Those dresses have a story that people in Florida will appreciate.

After Hurricane Charley hit, we had no power or phones for about 6 days. Food was hard to come by because the restaurants that did have power were packed.

On night, we drove north, looking for a hotel and some food. We ended up at Cracker Barrel. They had a 50% off sale on summer tropical clothing, and I bought the dresses for the girls for the cruise. Never in a million years did I imagine that we'd end up dealing with another hurricane during our cruise!

You know you had a great Disney Cruise when 36 people who originally were strangers from a message board became GOOD friends during the cruise and ALL have already booked to cruise together again in 2006 :sunny: :grouphug: HELLO TO ALL OF MY FELLOW AUGUST 28th CRUISERS!! :wave2:

A couple more:

You know you had a great Disney Cruise when you come back from the cruise and immediately pre-order the new MULAN on DVD that's coming out in November because it was playing on the stateroom tv during your cruise and reminds you of the cruise. :teeth:

You know you had a great Disney Cruise when your DH who swore he wouldn't plan another cruise yet (we are already booked on a RCI cruise for 2005) tells you to call and book TWO cabins for the 2006 cruise, so the kids can have their own cabin. :p

I could go on and on... We really had a wonderful trip :sunny:

Great thread, Marcy! Thanks (and your girls are adorable...DCL should use that photo for promotions!)

You know it was a great vacation when...

1. You read the message boards even more after you return, just to relive the "Magic" through other cruisers.

2. When you rebook onboard, not one, but two cruises!!!

3. Even your husband, who generally shuns all vacation planning, is asking for the official countdown to the next cruise more than a year in advance!

4. A chronic vacation planner (like me!) is not even excited to plan this year's family spring break because it is not on DCL.

You know you had a great time when your Key to the World card won't work at WDW. True story, I saw it happen as we were zapping our park hopper tickets. Poor lady.

You're experiencing Disney cruise withdrawl. :earseek:

Better yet, I tried to use my KTTW card at Sweet Tomatoes (Souplantation for you left coasters) last night -- my dh said, "Uh, honey, you have to use real credit cards now."

:teeth: That's exactly what DH did for me two years ago! I have earrings and necklaces in both "diamonds" and "emeralds" (my birthstone), and I was thrilled. I'd rather have a cruise than diamonds any day...really!

I knew we had a great cruise when my four-year-old granddaughter came into my bedroom (before I made the bed) about a week after we got back and said "Grandma, I think you need to call housekeeping again. Your room is a mess!"
