You know you feed your family take-out too often when....

When you meet your playgroup at the McDonald's playplace for breakfast and then stay long enough for lunch (don't think you'll make it home before nap time) then DH brings McDonald's home for dinner as a surprise!!! Yup, we're not proud of that day.

My 3.5yr old can't read but can spot a McDonalds, Burger King, Dunkin Donuts, Wendy's, and etc. We will be driving and all the sudden from the back seat you hear "Mommy theres so and so place."

My DD said the same thing,
When she was about that age when we went to visit my sister who is a nutritionist. The look on my sisters face when DD said "McDonalds" was priceless. I was pretty embarrased :p

Ugggg we are restaraunt royalty at The Texas Roadhouse:rolleyes:

How many of you have a "special" sandwich named after you? :p We used to go to McD's for breakfast all the time. My DH likes his sausage McMuffin with a folded egg as opposed to the usual round egg. We'd walk in and they'd call to the back "one Mr. *** sandwich". LOL

the pizza place is on speed dial

Mom yells,"Which place do you want? I'm going to Subway and taco bell"

When the doorbell rang, my two year old son yelled "Pizza Guy" and it really was just my mother!:D

When we were at the bowling alley eating Tombstone Pizza for a birthday party, our kids turned around, looked at me and said
"we wish you could make your homemade pizza this good"!

When my mother was over one morning making the kids breakfast she asked our daughter were the pancake mix was and she pointed to the freezer. My mom was confused and said the mix should not be in the freezer because it will ruin. She was 5 and told my mom "no, they're the kind that are in the box that you put in the microwave for one minute, that's my mom's special kind she makes". My mother said no honey I am making my own and our daughter's eyes almost popped out of her head when she realized they were really "homemade" and not from a box!:D

Out of the mouths of babes.......:p

How about when you call the local pizza place to put in an order and they don't even have to ask for your name anymore, they know your voice too well.

Or when I ask my DS what he would like for dinner, he goes to a drawer in the kitchen and pulls out all the take out menus.

I think I am going to print this thread and give it to my mom! She thinks we are awful ordering take out. I keep telling her I am not the only one who does this.

SOOOOOOOoooooooo glad Im not the only one.. course I claim to have a good reason (well HAD a good reason). My moms help took over our kitchen and it was impossible to cook anything because she wa always in there.... no more though :(

But we know how much we eat out when I would say "What do you want to eat tonight" and Chris (now happily off eating military food! and tons of it) would say (everytime) NOT FAST FOOD!

Or we would ask the 3 year old if he wants to get "some eat" (his phrase) and he heads for the door and says "Put a quarter in the machine". The local Taco Bell we frequent for lunch has a bouncy Ball pinball machine that he loves!

You know you feed your family take-out too often when....

....you are discussing where to go and we cannot agree for at least 10mins because we argue about the menu selections!
(No, I am sick of that, not there we had that last time, etc...)

DH went to the Chinese place around the corner one day and couldn't remember what we like to eat. The lady taking his order told him because we eat there so often.

I was cooking breakfast for my DS4 (at the time), bacon and eggs...he got tired of waiting and said to me..."Mom McDonald's is slow but this is rediculous!!" Sister (worm761) was on the phone and just about died laughing and told everyone!!:earseek:

We used to order pizza from the local pizza place in town when we were first married. We ordered from them so often, that when DH would call, the owner would recognize his voice - the whole conversation: "Artie's Pizza" "Hi, Artie" "Hi, Greg! How are you? I'll have your order ready in 30 min." Boy, do I miss those days!!

When you have a spinner on the fridge with all the names of fast food places. Where it lands is dinner.

My DD's friend's family had this. DD thought this was the coolest thing ever--we very rarely eat fast food. After about two weekends of almost constantly being at this girl's house, I asked DD if she wanted to go to McDonald's with me after running errands on Saturday morning (my usual bribe and a treat for her). She turned to me and said, "Can't you just make some real food?"

:rotfl: those are great...especially ones with kid quotes.

We eat out a lot too. Funny when I call home and husband already knows what I'm going to suggest for dinner....he jokes that I send the secret messages to his brain :)
