You are trying to shave your legs and can't figure out why a perfectly good razor isn't working....then realize the plastic slide thingy is still on. :goofy:

...you think the background music at the supermarket is pretty hip

Been there, done that!

You know you're getting old when you can't remember what you ate for lunch yesterday but you can remember your first day of elementary school. :tilt:

Or when people refer to things from your younger days as "vintage."

I do this one all the time, except I can't remember what I ate the same day. Pitiful isn't it? :rotfl:

I am social worker and there is such a high turnover rate. My office just hired some new social workers right out of college. I am the oldest one in my unit ( I am only 33 years young). I definately feel old working with people that were born after Madonna first hit the music scene or when Michael Jackson's thriller video was played every hour on the hour on MTV.
They look at me like i am crazy when i listen to my 80's music in my cubicle. They have no idea who Journey or Fleetwood Mac are! It's so crazy because i don't look or feel old, but being around them makes me feel ancient at 33!!!

I was thinking of a thread like this the other day when something happened. I forget what it was, but...

Younger people have no clue what a record is :confused3

The eyes change...you put your glasses on and take them off all day long. On to see the computer, off for paperwork. What a hassle! :headache:

People's faces noticably look "younger," and previously it never occurred to you! :scared1: :scared1:

The smart alec kid at the register in the store calls you "'mam."

LOLOL!

My nephew once asked what's a record? I explained they're like giant cds

LOL! Ruby Tuesday's has an old record player along with 33s and 45s on the wall. I made sure to point them out to DS and told him what they are.

DH has an old rotorary phone out in the shed that belonged to his father. The dgk's don't have a clue. They can't seem to believe that we put that much effort into making a phone call. :rotfl2:

My CPR/First Aid professor has an old "gross yellow" colored rotary phone that he uses as a prop when teaching our students.... I giggle when I see it because I know most of them don't even know what it is, never mind how to even use one. We use it so that IF they are ever in the situation to have to call 911 from someone's home who has a rotary phone, not a pushbutton, at least they'll know how to use it!!

I actually remember learning how to play Mary had a little lamb on a push button phone when they first came popular!!! :rotfl:

That must have been the one I threw a couple fo months ago my son could use it no buttons.

At work the past week we were talking about Beanie and Cecil only us oldies new who they were.

Your need tylenol or advil or maybe something stronger to get through the day. :rotfl:

How about .75 for the movies and you could stay all day long and watch the movie over and over again.

Story: We went to see "Snow White and the Three Stooges" (another you know you are old) and stayed all day. When we decided to leave there was my mother mad as a hornet because she was expecting us at home in a couple of hours. Boy did we get a spanking when we got home. :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: these are so funny thanks I needed a good laugh.

my experience for when I was feeling old was when I stood up to go to communion and the usher was a young man who towered over me who I had taught Sunday School to, and I had the 1st grade class. :sad2:

This happened to me yesterday...

You're remembering a vacation you took as an adult, with a friend. It feels like maybe 5-8 years ago, but you think back, calculating how long ago it really was, then you realize it was 16 years!!

Oh snap, I feel old! :lmao: (the first time I've ever used that word in that context!)

-----> Oh, and a funnier one... your 8yo gets into the rental car and about pees her pants with excitement over the crank windows that she can put up and down without the engine running! :rotfl2:

When you spend more time trimming the hair on your ears and in your nose than you do combing the hair on your head.

you can't remember if you put your laundry soup in the washing machine

You start putting soup in your washing machine instead of soap!

;) ;) Sorry, Sandy, I couldn't resist!

You can make that statement. Most kids today don't even know the term "spanking".
