You know the planning is starting to go overboard when...

You know you've gone overboard when mid trip your family rebels and makes you cancel the rest of your reservations for the week. Then on your next trip they constantly watch what you're doing and threaten another mutiny if you don't cool it.

ETA: On this trip, I only have 1 ADR for most days, and only booked the hard to get restaurants and fps. All subject to change *sigh* at the last minute. A must do this trip is BOG because last trip I had the perfect 5:30 ADR and they made me cancel it and all my fps for that day.

:charac2:

I'm not overly crazy for the most part, but my main neurosis comes with my planning out our restaurants.

-I have a countdown calendar counting down to the day I can book restaurant reservations!
-I have every likely ordered meal item at every possible restaurant planned out including tax, quick service, and snacks..to determine the value of the dinning plan. FYI, not worth it this trip.
-Everyday from 6 months out I look at our restaurant reservations and keep searching what else is available, even though I have made the reservations at the exact time reservations first open and normally have every restaurant and time I wanted.

I do the exact same things you mentioned above, word for word

That's not cool.

Just release them into the parks by themselves and see how they go without your plans. Then they know how important you are :)

I'm not quite to the spreadsheet level.... but that's because I like a WHOLE page for each day in Word! LOL

My planner is color coded and looks like a hot mess when it comes to trip planning, but it totally works for me.

Where did you find incredible tees for the family?

We call it the color coded matrix of fun!

My kids are now 20, 18 and 13 and still wear matching shirts at Disney. Last trip we only planned 3 and they were looking for more. LOL I guess we brought them up right.

And Star Wars T-shirts are IMPORTANT when you visit DHS...

Are you a bad parent if you plan to wait for your DS3 to go to sleep so you can take the Thomas shirt out of his suitcase and sub in a Star Wars one???? And that's after you made him take the Mickey shirts instead of Paw Patrol... :rolleyes1

What level of crazy do you end up at before you start shaking your head at yourself?

The point where you have five different touring plans for your one day at DHS to account for all the JTA possibilities? A friend needs help deleting them because I, er, she can't figure out how to hide them from DH, er, get rid of them. :rolleyes1

You know the planning is starting to go overboard when...

...You're packing your young child's clothing in a ziploc bag for each day and you're coordinating not only his shirt but his character underwear with the park you'll be at. :rolleyes1

When you think about it, it's kinda crazy planning where you're going to eat six months in advance. But when you know exactly what you're going to order...:rolleyes1

DSis and I enjoy Disneybounding so of COURSE you have to have Mickey and/or Minnie for the first day, and ABSOLUTELY must you wear Star Wars to Hollywood Studios! Unless I'd rather have Sorcerer Mickey for Fantasmic or can find some knock-out Agent Carter type outfit for the old timey Hollywood aspect.... If we were going to Universal then I have a slew of tshirts/costuming to go through (with wand to boot).

Point is, you're just as sane as we are. Shake your head a little then remind yourself vacations are meant to be fun so get your Disney on any way you want!

I'm laughing because my son thinks Paw Patrol is Disney too.
