You know all the queens are evil, right? Ch. 8 - The one where we keep an ADR.

Hullabaloo, caneck, caneck.... :rotfl2:

You're right, plenty of time until Thanksgiving, I should be well done by then. And never fear, my Texas sista Camille is one of "yours" and I still love her. :goodvibes

Technically I'm not. I'm Texan so I support Texans! :goodvibes I support both teams....equally. :cheer2:

Welcome sista! I love the second Alice quote. Makes perfect sense to me! I can't wait to see the new movie either. Have you seen it yet?

We did see it. I don't know that I can say much about it without tainting what you'll think before seeing it. I will say I wish I hadn't seen it in 3D, I don't much care for 3D movies.

I'm here and caught up! So funny about the freezing fog, I hadn't heard of that either. I am a list maker to pack as well, but I don't list the obvious things..ie..toothbrush, hairbrush, etc. Then again..I did make a huge old sign for the back of the front door of stuff not to forget on the way out, so maybe I'm a bit compulsive! I also tend to be pretty clutzy.

The bathroom thing is great, I'm the same way. Piper is notorious for saying "But I don't have to go", then peeing like a racehorse when I make her go anyway! She still will try to argue, but I see through her evil plots..mwwwahaha! :rotfl2: Looking forward to the next update!

Me too!!! :rotfl: :lmao:

Great...um...bladders think alike?

I'm not sure I do either. I don't mind a little, but by the end of Avatar I had a headache.

As for the schools, I must have taken your current home for a preference! Has your son heard from UT yet or is it too early?

xanax and alcohol..what a great snack...

:rotfl2::rotfl2: It's not as bad as it sounds...the xanax is the lowest dose you can get. If I fly over the ocean I have to take valium because it's stronger.

Welcome!

Oh I have to put everything, I'm afraid I'll show up without a toothbrush otherwise! I have done the "back of the door" thing too, too funny. :thumbsup2

Hmmm, must be why parents do that to kids....

Hey I'm all for medicating for travel. If I wasn't a snoring fool and a drooler, I'd be all over your choice of snacks...:thumbsup2

(I had on my Cowboys shirt and they were Giants fans)
DH and I are Colts and Giants fans. :thumbsup2

This lady tells her there is a Burger King at gate 15 (we are at gate 30 or so) and it’s not that far.

But I was drunk, and I've slept since then...
You're funny, CE. :rotfl:

I'm sorry that you didn't have another sweatshirt to wear;)
Well, of course, she doesn't want an Eagles shirt. :rolleyes1

I went to elementary school in Richardson 1975-1982. Thanks to FB, I have found lots of my friends who still live there. :thumbsup2

If I could sleep on airplanes I wouldn't need 'em! :lmao:

I've heard PROZAC Helps:rotfl2::rotfl2:

I'll add that to my list...or did you mean for Jordan's drooling and snoring? :rotfl2:

DH and I are Colts and Giants fans. :thumbsup2

Ah, gotta love the NFC East. My DH is from NY and actually does have a Giants superbowl shirt. He is just not allowed to root for the Giants out loud. He is really more of a Jets fan than Giants (and claims to be more of a Cowboys fan than either now that he lives here). His dad, who is a huge Jets fan, asked him who he would root for if the Cowboys and Jets played in the Superbowl. DH said it would depend who he was talking to.

FB is awesome for finding old friends. I've found a lot of old boyfriends actually!

I thought I would have an update today but just realized it's almost time to go home...DST throwing me off! Will try to do it tomorrow.:wizard:

Waiting to find out what was/was not magical!

While I'm waiting, I'm pondering the frozen fog thing. I've never heard of frozen fog either. I also find the dead end in the middle worthy of some thought.

About the photo size, I agree with the poster that would like the pictures to be larger. We want to see all there is to see!

:welcome: I love your user name and avatar.

New chapter coming up this afternoon, I hope! I think the wall/dead end is to prevent people from cutting through our neighborhood. Which works well because now no one knows it is there!

So, when I left off we had just had a cigarette and were making our way down to the ME. It took me a minute to figure out where to go even though I had checked in advance, I just couldn’t see the signs. It was basically two choices, follow the crowds to ME or follow the crowds to the rental car places. :lmao: So we got down there and got in line to head to the Wilderness Lodge :cool1: We probably waited about 5 minutes and then we got on the bus. We were practically at the end of our line and the bus left as soon as we were all on although it wasn’t full. It was about half to 2/3 full maybe. This must have been around 10:30 am.

Donna and I settled in right in front of a TV because we were both excited to see the ME video, since neither of us had ridden the magical express before. You know how it is, it’s your first day and you just want to see/get to Disney! Well when we got on the televisions were off, the driver got on, reported in over the walkie-talkie that he was leaving the airport, but didn’t say anything to us at all - no welcome aboard, no how long it would take. Okay, whatever. Then he puts in a DVD and starts to drive....

And Donna and I both look at each other, back at the video, back at each other and just start laughing. This was NOT the magical express Disney video. Nope, this was “This is It,” that Michael Jackson movie. :scared1: She and I had seen it so I know that’s what it was. I don’t even know if it is out on DVD yet or if it was a bootleg copy. I kept thinking eventually he would switch it, but he never did and never said a word! I wondered what some of the parents thought of it (I mean it’s not dirty, but there is some provocative dancing) and the funniest thing is no one in our immediate vicinity seemed to be paying any attention to it one way or the other. I was so bummed not to get the ME video, not even to get any kind of Disney video, and worst of all it was a movie I had already seen! :rotfl2:

We get to WDW,

This was actually taken when we went in July

through the gates, and WL is the first stop so here we are!

I didn’t take any pictures out front, so I borrowed this one from photobucket! No offense intended to the original photographer....

We had gone back and forth about whether or not to do online check in, and finally decided we would because it might be busy that time of day on the Saturday of President’s Day weekend. I had already called in the room request anyway (high floor on MK side, we wanted to be able to see the fireworks if possible). I think four families got off with us, we all walked in and they went up to the regular check-in while we smartly went over to the online check in desk.

One problem - there were no PEOPLE at the online check in desk. After the third family from the bus had been checked in (we came in first, so we would have been first if we hadn’t done online check in), I asked one of the men at the club-level check in if he could get someone to come help us. He did, and they came right over after checking in the fourth family from our bus. :headache: So online check in was a total waste of time.

Our room wasn’t ready which was not surprising so I gave them my number to text us. The CM gave Donna Sue her birthday button which she just loved.

Now I’m tired and a little irritated from the wait, and we don’t really know what to do with ourselves, so we go have lunch. We were hoping our room would be ready before we took off for the afternoon. We both wanted to unpack, have our groceries delivered, etc. So we went to Whispering Canyon Café where we both chose a margarita and bacon cheeseburgers. I ordered some chips and queso/salsa to go with the margaritas which I do not recommend. First of all, the queso was brownish. Queso should be the color of velveeta. Second, pico de gallo is not salsa! Anyway, the margaritas and burgers were good, and while we were waiting I gave Donna part of her birthday present - a princess lanyard/starter pin set with a pouch (I got myself the tinkerbell one). This was also when Donna got her first free birthday dessert. It was cool, a few CMs came over to sing and present her with her cupcake, and all the people in our section sang along! She was really happy, except with the cupcake. See, she was full, and we’re nice southern women (okay, she is) and don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings who gives us free food. I can’t believe she didn’t know this trick, but I showed her how to mush something up and make it look like you ate part of it even when you didn’t. (The cupcake was strawberry - if it had been chocolate I would have eaten it myself!)

Our room still wasn’t ready so we took our carry-on bags to the valet, went and had a smoke (just in time for either the 1 or 2 pm geyser). This picture was taken from the smoking section next to the pool bar (Trout Pass). It was a really nice smoking area. There was another one up front close to the buses, and they were both tucked back where no one needed to walk right by you for any reason if they weren’t smoking.

and then we headed to the dock to take the boat over to MK.

Next: We’re off to the Magic Kingdom! Or are we?

Finally all caught up. Cracking up over the in flight snacks! Hoping you get your room request. That stinks about the online check in.

One of them who went on break walked past and said OH you are STILL waiting I will see if I can get someone !!Right then the girl with the other guest must have finally speeded things up and said I can help !! Hi GB! Online check-in was the only time I got a little grumpy, and I was very good and patient on the outside. I didn't use my lawyer voice or anything, it was just frustrating and at that point the lack of sleep must have been hitting me. Or maybe the in flight snacks were wearing off!

Online check-in--crapshoot as far as front desk.:confused3

WCC...bacon burgers...mmmmm....

It was just weird that there was a sign but no one was over there!

The bacon burgers were fantastic, although I think we could have split one. I couldn't finish mine.

You know, I kept thinking, if I hadn't done online check in I wouldn't be mad to be waiting behind those other people, but Disney asked me to do it to save time...and it didn't...so I'm with you, next time why bother?

They list no waiting as a perk for online check in and it's not translating to the resort.....no bueno

As long as the margaritas are good, what else matters?

Seriously, that would annoy me, too - time savers not saving time...

Can't wait to hear more! :thumbsup2

The online check-in worked sweetly for me.
Line to the door at POP!:scared1:
No one in my line!
