You HAVE to try this!! EBAY your way to DISNEY!!

pjlla -

Thanks for your response. Glad to know I'm not the only one who has ever had to deal with this situation.

My listings clearly state that the winner must contact me within 3 days after the auction ends, and payment is expected within 10 days. I suppose the winner could just surprise me and send payment by the 10th day without contacting me first (it's a stretch, I know), but I guess anything's possible!

At any rate, I'll e-mail the winner again with another reminder. All I wanted to do was help fund our Disney trip - and yes, I think ebay is a great way to do it. I just wish that people wouldn't bid if they have no intention of paying.

Can anyone tell me how to block someone from bidding from my auctions?

To block someone from bidding, go to your MY eBay page, and click on selling. At the very bottom of that page there is a place to click pre approve or block bidders (about tenth down the list).

Oh for pete's sake - why me?

I ended up barely breaking even on my AG stuff - that's ok - I can live with that & build feedback. One of my auctions the bidder had emailed me to see if I would ship to Canada. I quoted $8.50 for PM large envelope ($7 actual) and $4.50 Airmail Letter Post ($2.35 or so depending on packaging weight). I received no reply to the email but now after the auction has ended & she won I am contacted to see how much it will cost her since it shouldn't be any more than $3 - she is very polite mind you - it's just that I already quoted $4.50! So why are you asking? I did adjust the shipping to $3 - I have no idea why - I guess I just don't want to risk a negative after the moron I had last week. She told me I didn't have to fill out a customs form for it, but my PO states I have to on any item going to canada if it isn't a regular letter. Maybe mine is just fussy.

DH did very well on his auto parts, however, we have an unverified address! However the customer has 389 net feedback (500+ total) and 100% positive feedback - so I am taking the chance. It could cost me dearly, but buyer appears to be good.

I did use the start at .99 strategy on the new AG listings with a reserve that I will even end up losing on, so we'll see if that helps.

Sorry - I just needed to grumble to ones who would understand - it isn't even much to grumble about!!!

I know what you mean.. we have a whole bunch of new stuff that went up yesterday.

I realized that next Sunday is the Superbowl, does anyone have any idea when that comes on? I had these go live at 10 pm eastern, so hopefully that will not conflict too much.

Our vintage sports magazines did ok. I listed four, two sold, one at starting and one with a mini bidding war. I wound up wrapping them in plastic bags, cardboard around them another plastic layer, and then in a Tyvek envie.

This is our first shot listing one of the 26 pc's this week.. here's hoping! I never realized how much prep goes into that , with wiping the hard drive, opening up the case for pics, and a detailed description... I hope we make up for it bid wise!

Anyway, I hope the snow drives away all the post office customers... I have to go there soon!

I wanted to give everyone the update on my swapped-book-shipping-error Negative I received while on vacation a couple weeks ago.

I attempted to contact the buyer of the other book by email twice, but it apprears that he opened the email account just for eBay and never checked it again. I finally called him and he said he knew he received the wrong book, but he gave it as a gift anyway. The book worked out for him.

Then, I emailed the Negative buyer and gave her two options (1) keep the book and we're done or (2) Send the book back via an SASE and I'll give her a refund. She chose to keep the book.

{sigh}

So she gave me a negative for a book she kept after all. You just can't predict what someone will do!

I never worry about unverified addresses because mine is unverified. The reason is that I refuse to link a credit card with Paypal. Isn't that the only way to verify?

Earlier I was on Ebay looking for Disney Prints and found this auction Print
Is this person really selling a postcard as an Art Print? Granted the price is only $.29 but the shipping is $9.99. :earseek: I checked the feedback but I dont think he's sold any of these "Disney Prints" before now. But he has tons of the prints starting at $.29

Guess I'll go back to selling and save my buying for my next trip to WDW. ::yes::

How do you know that's a post card? I can't see that in the description at all. Just asking for my own edification...

Two quickies - one that's because of you all anyway... What's this about two Paypal accounts? If people have money in their Paypal account you don't have to pay fees? And why would you need two accounts to do this?

And I've been cleaning my childhood room and found some old, old Disney World brochures. I think most are from the 70s. One lists a room at the Contemporary for $24! Anyway, do you think those would sell on eBay? Where would I list them?

With a Premiere Account where you can accept Credit Cards, You are charged a fee on EVERY incoming $ transaction whether it is from existing funds or CC or Immediate bank withdrawal (possibly on a refund also- but I'm not sure about that one). That's why I want another PayPal account so that I can have one for people paying with CC (on the Premiere Acct) and one for people paying with existing PayPal funds (so I get it all - NO FEES) Hope that made sense. Sandy

Last year we got there just before the end of the big "Walt Disney World 100 years of Celebration". I picked up several of each size plates, cups, napkins, etc. i wonder if they will ever be worth anything. LOL Ya just never know. there are some Disneynuts on Ebay who will buy anything!!!

How do you do the invoice? Is it kind of a "if you want to pay with existing funds, click here; if you want to pay with a CC, click here; if you want to pay with a money order, click here...." I guess I'm just wondering if it's actually worth the trouble....?

C.Ann - gonna list them tomorrow and see where it goes! Thanks!

That's pretty much it..except I say go to Paypal and send money to DMR if paying with your funds, send to DMRICK if paying using CC.

That's about right. 99% of the time the eBay people pay on the fee account anyway - however, it's nice for selling little things on coupon boards etc to be able to have them pay with available funds and not have pp suck part of it back out again! So the bother with 2 accounts can be well worth it.

Quick Question for the Ebay experts.

Someone with an APO address just won an auction for our toys.

The winner would like it to go priority. Of course, you can't use DC on it, but shipping assistant still cant work.

Can you do priority mail to an APO? She is in Germany, if that matters, but the APO addy is out of NY.

I think I will have to just handwrite it out, and use a customs receipt (which is no biggie), but I need to know if I can use priority.

Thanks!

Could you tell me about the 'coupon boards, etc.' please? Thanks!

These boards have a For Sale/Trade Board (the name differs) where you have things (usually lower ticket items).

Some of these board have a fee that you need to pay for trading privilidges. Sometimes its coupons, rebate forms, clothes, health and beauty samples, or a nice freebie (ie a Mach 3 razor has been making the rounds)

I personally haven't had a lot of luck on those, so I basically have stopped doing it.

I don't know that is why I asked. I think they are postcards because I have the one he labeled "Pixie" and its a postcard of Tinkerbell. Honest sellers do not usually sell a real print for $.29 then charge $9.99 for shipping.
