Hi Again!
I have another question....this time about feedback. A person just bought something I'm selling stating they would pay via money order. That's fine, however I looked and this person has 0 feedback. That would be fine too (we all have to start sometime :) ) however this person has been a member on ebay since Oct 2001 !!!!! This is the first purchase? That's a long time to window shop!!!
Maybe it's because I'm new to selling... but I'm a little nervous.

Am I crazy? I just thought that was odd.

Any thoughts???

Kimba

this person has 0 feedback... I'm a little nervous.

It's hard to say. Perhaps after signing up and bidding, they did not win the auction(s). That could discourage somebody, and would also result in no feedback... also, my DH has a separate ID from me on ebay, but I do most of the bidding/buying. He has a feedback of 1, and has been registered over a year. As a Network/Hardware tech, he has his own laptop... which is why he wanted his own ID at that point. So, there could be many reasons that don't point to trouble.

FWIW, I've had 3 slow payers so far, and all have had feedback over 30, 100% positive. The 3 people who were first-timers winning my auctions were model customers, and paid very quickly - it was a pleasure to leave them their 1st positive FB.

Good luck and I hope it turns out well!

Well, I gave in and went back to the BaconButtie site, regenerated my script, and edited & pasted it into all my active auctions. Hey, it's working! Yay.

Thanks, twinklingstars4u - something else to look at beside Andale again!

Has anybody tried BB's new watch list feature?

I use the watch list feature. It's pretty neat. It comes up with a list of your item numbers, how many watchers there are and when the auction is ending.

Beg pardon! I meant, "BB's counter feature". I've been using the watch list, too, but I think they added the counter sometime in July or August. Thanks, Nuke - have you used the counter as well as the watch list?

Would somebody mind very much posting the url for the baconbuttie website please!!!

Thanks a bunch!
Vicky

How's everyone doing? I just got back from a 3 week vacation....Glad to be back but had fun. During my vacation, I checked my email every other day and I checked my Ebay account too. I found I was left negative feedback from a person who purchased a picture frame from me that was received broken. The feedback stated that she emailed me several times and did not hear back from me. (I have two email accounts, one linked through Ebay) and I never received an email from her. I responded to the feedback that I will try to resolve the problem, offer refund but that I never received any emails. I emailed the person and finally she got back to me with the following response...

Hello, i emailed you 3 times at the iwon.com address, when i did not hear from you i gave up, i will mail it back to you sorry about the feedback, do you know a way to fix it??, thanks

I emailed back that I would offer a refund but didn't know if it could be fixed because I didn't know what was wrong with it. I also made sure to put in the message that I was out of town and if the frame made it back to me by the time I got home I would take care of it immediately.

Got back...No frame. Emailed her again asking how she shipped it so I could watch for it. No response and it's been three days...

Anyway....The question is, do I go ahead and refund before I get the frame?

Personally, I think I would wait until you actually received the frame.. I've heard many a story about bidders "claiming" there was something wrong with an item and wanting a refund UNTIL they were informed that they would have to actually send the item BACK so that the seller could verify it was in fact damaged..

I'd continue to send her emails - and wait it out...

I was just reviewing my account and I noticed two problems..

Problem #1 is that it appears that one of my customers paid for the same item TWICE - but I don't know how to verify this..

Problem #2 - I ordered MVMCP tickets on-line and the total - with tax and shipping was $107.22.. There is a charge there for that - BUT there is also another charge a little further down for $1.. I used the debit card as a charge card - and obviously there was no ATM involved - so why the $1 charge?

Does anyone have a telephone number for Paypal that I can call? I'll be heading out of town again either tomorrow or Friday and would like to straighten this out before I go..

Thanks all! :)

C.Ann- That $1 charge will most likely go away in a day or two. They send out a $1 authorization to make sure the card is okay before they do the big charge. I've had the same thing happen with my Webcertificate mastercard.
If it's not gone in a week, then I would fire off some e-mails or phone calls.

Thanks! Now how do I go about verifying my customer paying twice?

I wouldnt. If it was important to her she'd have mailed it back already. As my aunt used to say "Trust no one"

Problem #1 is that it appears that one of my customers paid for the same item TWICE - but I don't know how to verify this..

Go to your PayPal account and click on "Details" for the 2 payments.....it should show you the buyers name, buyers ID, item number and item description.

Possibly the $1 charge came before the charge for the tickets? If so, some businesses send a $1 charge through on cards to verify they are real.

That is interesting... I experienced that yesterday, also. Got a BIN Sunday, immediate PayPal payment, then another PayPal payment Tuesday.

What complicates this is that I have PayPal set up to automatically generate invoices for my completed listings. Those invoices usually go out within minutes of the end of the auction or BIN, but over the past several days, they've taken 12 to 18 hours. One buyer who had already paid replied to the PP invoice asking if I hadn't gotten her payment... etc., etc.

C.Ann, what I did with the possible double payer was to write her an email asking her to kindly check her records, and telling her that I'd refund the second payment if we could verify that 2 had actually been made. Based on my total, I think she paid twice, but it can be a little challenging to tell given the way the running total is displayed when you have many incoming AND outgoing charges. I'll post my final resolution when it happens, and please let us know what your results are, too - OK?

;) :D

Had an auction end on Aug. 10th and have had no contact from the buyer.. Did the usuual - sent invoices, reminder, emails, etc., and still no response.. Then today I find that this buyer has changed her user ID 4 times in the past 6 months!!! Now why do I get the feeling I can KISS that money goodbye????

Second situation.. Last Friday I made out some Delivery Confirmation labels thru the Shipper's Assistant assuming that payments would arrive Saturday.. Well - they didn't.. I do have payment now, but can I still use those labels - or do I have to do them all over again??

Ugh...think I'll go back to bed!!

Just wanted to announce that my Disney ebay goal #1 has been met. I have just paid for dinner for 2 at O'Hana! (My husband can barely believe that some beanie babies and makeup earned enough to buy dinner!)

I set my goals to pay for meals at the parks/resorts. DH and I will be there for one week in December, and we already know where we want to eat (counter service and sit down), so I know exact prices for everything.

Next goal - Lunch for 2 at Whispering Canyon Cafe...hopefully to be met within 2 weeks.

Does anyone else set little goals like this, or do you just sell, sell, sell?

Good for YOU, FonFon!!

I DO set goals, constantly. For my last trip, last month I first decided to make the amount for my accommodations. After I did that, I made a goal to pay for my car rental. Both times, (I think someone HEARD ME :teeth: ) I made the EXACT amount in one day apiece!! I began to wonder why I didn't pray for MORE!

Let me say that without eBay there would have not been ANY such trip. Both trips were funded by my stash from eBay and I am sooooooooo grateful I found this post because without it I would've NEVER done it!

Oh, you bet! I set goals, and sell, sell sell! My first goal since July was to earn and save enough to cover our PAPs, and I just bought them last weekend. :teeth: Next is an amount equal to the cost of our Connections vouchers which were already charged to our Discover card (CA$HBACK :teeth: ). I'm on track for that, for sure! After that, I'll be saving to purchase Disney $$$ for spending at the F&WF, and to pay for PS meals.

Congratulations, FonFon, good job!

I agree with Robin... without this thread, I really doubt I would have had the inspiration and confidence to go for it on ebay as I have. Thanks again, C.Ann, DMRick, Robin, Lori (WDWPluto), Nuke, DisneyChrista, and all of the rest of you who have helped us all. It's a wonderful thing!

And, BTW, C.Ann, I hope your day improves! Sounds like it can only get better from here.... :teeth:
