Pocahontas is an INCREDIBLE movie and I can not believe how under appreciated it is. It's such a beautiful film and I think it should be in the same league as all the classics. I cry like 5 times during it and I always get chills at the end when Pocahontas is running to rescue John Smith and singing oh my god it is so good. Perfect movie. Sigh. I also listen to the music all the time and I get so into it and then I have to turn the movie on. OK, I'll stop rambling now...

PRINCE ERIC Eric, Eugene, and Aladdin are my top 3 loves of my life.

I got behind on your TR and only just read your entry about being the Rebel spy in Star Tours.

A similar thing happened to me on my last trip. I got picked to be the Rebel spy (the fact that I was wearing a Yoda T-shirt might have had something to do with it?), but the camera captured me in mid-yawn, with my mouth wide open. Not the most dining endorsement for the Rebellion, really....

Yay new trip! 120 isn't so long. Summer/spring always seem to go faster than the other seasons, though. So much to do!

Shuffling old TRs and a new PTR is hard! I'm really amazed at people who can keep both running, I feel like I'd end up repeating myself all over the place.

It's really not! I mean it's 118 now! We started out at like 175 hahah so already a big chunk of time has passed! AW YEAH.

Well, I'm not really going to start a new thread for the PTR, I'm going to finish the TR, then keep it up with PTR stuff until the other trip comes along. I don't know if I could handle running two TRs at once haha!

Hi Marissa!!! I'm FINALLY all caught up!! School has been crazy (Spring Break just started today) and whatever free time I've had I've been on twitter and/or obsessing over One Direction. I just want to take this moment to say if you don't know who One Direction is stop reading this,google them, listen to their music, and watch their videos right now. THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL. I love them they are amazing, wonderful, perfect, fabulous, and I could stare at them all day.Oh and they are so funny. And their accents! Oh lord I can't I just cant. Ahem
..... Anywhoooo.... I was so far behind that I actually took notes on what I was commenting. I know I'm weird but otherwise I would forget and make some lame broad comment like "great updates!" and it would just be boring. That also means this is going to be kinda long, sorry. Also my comments are going to be really sporadic so I'm sorry if it doesn't make sense! (Oh and just so you know I started reading from "The One with Fun and Adventure"). Okay so here it goes (wow what a lame transition, my english teacher would be horrified):

Animal Kingdom was always my favorite too. I have the same exact picture of the tree on my phone!

My family and I hate the Finding Nemo show! We saw it when it first came out and we haven't seen it since. We found it boring and we had no idea who to look at, the person or the puppet? All the people around us fell asleep during the show! It was actually kinda funny. I mean these people were snoring to, the loudest snorer was like a 4 year old girl! hahahahaha! But hey they might have changed it from since it first came out.
My favorite song is the Big Blue World song. I've heard it from the seas with Nemo and Friends and I LOVE that song.

Lets stop and take a moment to talk about how much I love Samantha Brown. And about how much I love Disney specials. My love for Samantha Brown Disney specials is astronomical.

We saw the Osborne Lights when we went in November, they are gorgeous!! And there are so many hidden mickeys!

To be honest, I'm not a huge Fantasmic! fan. The only one that really loves it in my family is my mom. Every once and a while she forces us to go. Last time we went the big joke was that Mickey blew up (God forbid). You know the part, im pretty sure it's at the end, where Mickey is like standing there doing his thing and then fireworks go off like on both sides of him and then he's gone. When that happened my brother turned to my dad and me and went "Oh my God they just blew up Mickey!". Ever since then the big joke is that Fantasmic! blew up Mickey.

OMG I LOVE PHOTOBOMBING! It's so funny! One time in art, my teacher was taking pictures of the class as the student teacher was teaching so that my student teacher can show it to her class and professor. Everyone in my class was surrounding a table and she was like showing artwork. My friend Sarah and I were not far away from the student teacher and we photobombed like all the photos. My student teachers class is going to be hysterical laughing when she shows the photos!

I have a rambling problem too. Can't you tell! lol

I just saw all of your videos, and there is this part in the last video with Fantasmic! where ariel sings “…to spend the day warm on the sand.. ” and then right afterwards Eric sings "we were fantastic" or something like that and im honeslty hysterical laughing right now! Like that makes no sense!

That's okay! I would have gladly skipped it this trip since I'd already seen it twice, but since Sally and Ryan had never seen it, I was glad to go so they could! Hahaha thank goodness Mickey doesn't actually blow up! OMG I would love to see those photos! That sounds so funny! Oh that's okay, we all ramble now and then. It happens!

Thank you! OH, I know what you're talking about. Okay, it's not actually them singing! I can see where that would sound weird. The girl is singing Part of Your World, but the guy is singing about Imagination haha. He's saying "Dream a fantastic dream." It would make way more sense if you saw the whole scene, but I didn't film it all!

The One Where There's An EXPLOSION... In the Sky

December 15, 2011

Since the line for the Friendship boats was longer than the one for Toy Story Mania, we decided that taking a bus was our best bet. (That, and well, there was one right there waiting for us. Who passes that up? NOT US!)

The bus was pretty full, so we were scattered all over the place, but thankfully I was able to find a seat in the very back of the bus. There was a guy in the middle of two seats, and he very kindly scooted (scootched?) over and let me sit. He even gave me the window seat! Although, I will admit it was a little bit awkward having to climb OVER the guy to GET to the seat. Hahahaha.

When we arrived, I was EXCITED. WHY? BECAUSE WE WERE AT EPCOT FOR THE FIRST TIME ON THE TRIP! AND… BECAUSE THIS WAS OUR FOURTH PARK OF THE DAY.

Say WHAAAAAT?

Yes. It’s true. If you recall, we started out our day by opening the Magic Kingdom at 8:00, then went to Animal Kingdom, then Hollywood Studios. At this time, it was about 9:00, and we had arrived at Epcot! WHEW!

Wait a minute. 9:00???? WE’VE GOT NO TIME TO LOSE!

Let’s SKEDADDLE!

IllumiNations starts at 9:30!

That’s basically the only reason we’re here!

Oh, yeah. That was basically the only reason we went to Epcot that night. We did not want to miss IllumiNations, after all!

Also, the park CLOSED at 9:30. (LAME!!!! Seriously though, early-mid December hours are kind of crapola. The parks all close so early!)

Now, if you were thinking that the entrance would be empty because we were getting to the park literally a half hour before it closed, you would be incorrect! I was surprised how busy bag check actually was! Like, hello, what are all of you thinking? Thirty minutes is only half an hour! Get on out of here, the busses are right behind you! Meanwhile, me and my group will probably stay…

As soon as we got through bag check and scanned our tickets, (those things got a good workout that day!) I was able to fully process where we were. I mean… EPCOT YALL. Seeing that fountain and Spaceship Earth for the first time (okay, EVERY TIME) each trip is such a special moment! Honestly, Spaceship Earth will never cease to amaze me. I mean, I don’t know about yall, but it’s certainly the most handsome geodesic sphere that I’VE ever seen!

So the good news right now is that I took two VERY MEDIOCRE pictures at the first sight of Spaceship Earth, with my cellular device! My sister had asked that I send her some pictures every now and then and oops, I had forgotten to up until that point. I’m such a good sister. SO SHE RECEIVED THESE BEAUTIES!

That second one was definitely a BONUS! Cell phone pictures don’t get much better than THAT gem. (I was really excited to see those topiaries in front of SE, so I couldn’t resist. There WILL be daytime pictures, hahaha.)

Walking through Future World that night was so exciting! It made me sad that we couldn’t stay all night. Believe me, I would have if I could have!

We took some photopass pictures in a really pretty area with the BEAUTIFUL Epcot Christmas tree in the background, but sadly I never got to see those (or any!) photos, because I wasn’t the one with the PP card. BOO! Ehhh well.

Believe it or not, with 15 minutes to go before the show started, we got an awesome spot! I guess I should say we got TWO awesome spots. I started to follow the rest of my group to one spot, but then I realized that I would end up blocking someone who was sitting on the ground. When my group questioned why I was standing about 10 feet away from them, I told them, and the person who was sitting looked at me like “Um, yeah, that’s right, you’re NOT gonna block me.” It annoyed me a little bit because I mean, they were sitting on the ground. There’s a good chance that people will block you if you’re sitting on the ground. OH well, either way I was getting to see IllumiNations, so I was happy.

MICKEY!

IllumiNations is just GRAND. There’s really no other way to put it! The music is beautiful! To tell you the truth, ‘We Go On’ makes me cry every time I hear it! There’s just something so powerful about that song.

BUT WAIT. THERE’S MORE! They have a special Holiday ending of IllumiNations. And SPECIAL IT IS. It’s INCREDIBLE. I mean, there were fireworks going off one by one by one just BOOM BOOM BOOM KABLOOM BAM POW SNAP CRACKLE POP BING BANG BONG KAPOW!!!!!!! I mean, I could literally feel the fireworks in my chest. It was SO INTENSE.

And what song is playing during this BREATHTAKING finale? Let There Be Peace On Earth. Talk about a tearjerker!

WOW. I mean… WOW. If you EVER have a chance to see the Holiday ending, MAKE SURE YOU DO! I can’t even explain how amazing it was!

After I was able to pick myself up off the ground, (because that holiday ending KNOCKED ME OUT), I realized I needed to make a pit stop at the restrooms on the way out, so I went on ahead of everyone. Before I could do that though, I had to take a picture of the beautiful Epcot Christmas tree. I love the angel on top!

I made my lovely pit stop, refilled my water bottle (because I can’t go 30 seconds without taking a sip of water) and joined the THRONGS of people heading to the busses.

GUESS WHAT THOUGH. Spaceship Earth had holiday greetings projected on it in a bunch of different languages and it was the coolest thing! Oh man, I WISH I could have gotten a clear picture of it, but instead I settled for this. If you look REALLY CLOSELY, you can see that there’s a little bit of projection on it… but I’m pretty sure it’s just the regular Earth projection. Hahah oh well!

When I finally made it back to the Sports bus stop, I saw that I had a message on my phone from my mom, so I sat down on the bench and checked it. I saw Sally and Kristen getting on the bus (no clue where Amanda and Ryan were???) but I decided I’d catch the next one so I could call my mom back. I filled my mom in on our very successful day of EXTREME PARK HOPPING, and as soon as I hung up, I heard it.

I bet you know what ‘it’ was too… CHANTING. BRAZILIAN TOUR GROUPS. CHANTING BRAZILIAN TOUR GROUPS. BRAZILIAN TOUR GROUPS THAT WERE CHANTING.

Now, I have nothing against Brazilians. In fact, I love them! I actually went to Brazil on a mission trip the summer after I graduated high school, and it was one of the best experiences of my life! But, can I just say that when my group was there, we did not walk around CHANTING LOUDLY? In fact, at the college I went to, there is a required class called Global Perspectives, and one of the key things we learned in that class was that when you’re in a foreign country, the LAST thing you want to do is draw attention to yourself. However, that is EXACTLY what the tour groups always do! They want the attention! It’s baffling to me. If they were anywhere outside of Disney, there would surely be trouble waiting for them. That’s just MY two cents on the matter… Luckily for me though, they went to the Movies bus stop and I was able to avoid riding in a bus full of them. I really felt sorry for the innocent people that did end up in a bus with them, though.

Anyways, my bus came soon after that, and I had a very pleasant ride back to Sports. When I got back to the room, I found out that Amanda had a terrible stomachache. So before I went to sleep I said a little extra prayer that she would feel better and be able to enjoy the next day.

Luckily, she felt better soon after… but that doesn’t mean that everyone would get through the next day without getting sick.

Of all the geodesic spheres I've seen, Spaceship Earth is definitely the best!

Ugh, I get a little annoyed with people who sit on the ground and don't expect to be blocked! It's like people at the movie theater who get all mad when I sit in front of them because then they have to take their feet off the back of the seat. Grr!

Thank goodness you avoided the chanting tour groups!!

Oh no, I'm worried about who got sick! I hope everyone was okay!!
