You Flew All The Way Here With PIXIE DUST?! UD 8/22: Final Thoughts :)

Sadly, one of my closest friends isn't doing too well. On Saturday night, he was more or less on his deathbed. He was unconcious, and slipping away. Last night, he was concious again, and doing the tiniest bit better (we think because his girlfriend, whom he loves more than anything, came back from her vacation). Can we just keep him in our thoughts? Thanks.

We can absolutely keep your friend in our prayers!:grouphug:

Thanks for the updates and for your confession. I know it takes a lot to open up to people about any disability. You're a strong young woman.

Hi Meg...

I was so touched by your decision to share about your health challenges. Believe me, I know a lot about the difficulties associated with "invisible" disabilities. Yours is especially difficult because it involves anxiety and worry about the future... something that, in a perfect world, young people should not have to face.

My heart goes out to you, and I will keep your good friend in my prayers.

Kathy

No news is good news right? I hope everything is going well with your friend and his struggles. I continue to pray for him and his loved ones, as well as you Meg. :grouphug:

No need to fear! It really is Meg!

It's Meg! I'm posting on my mom's old account. This is because

*My computer is "sick" and at the store getting fixed (Geek Squad!)
*I never wrote down my DIS password after I changed it a few months ago
*So I can't get on the DIS with my laptop
*And I can't re-set the password
*Because I don't have my Verizon password
*And my parent's email is registered with my laptop
*AND! all 200+ Disney pics are on my computer

D'oh! :headache:

So a few updates:

I was at my best friend's house while my parents went to Nassau for their 20th anniversary. I took the laptop, but didn't go on the DIS. This was Sun-today.

It was quite fun. We went bowling, to the zoo, to see Harry Potter 6 (great!).

Jonas Brothers concert tonight (:woohoo:) with another best friend of mine.

Everything else is more or less normal, though.

My friend is doing okay. Not good, not great, not terrible. His graduation party is next Saturday, so I'll see him then. My best friend (whom I stayed with) is his girlfriend, and has been quite worried about him. I feel terrible; she hasn't seen him since graduation :guilty:

Just a quick shoutout to say that I'm still alive :)

My computer should be back in a week or so (I hope).

Bye for now!

Yay, my computer is back from Greek Squad :-)

I've changed my password, so now I'll remember it ;)

The concert was amazing as heck. The crowds were crazy-insane, but we survived it. May I just add that my friend and I went by OURSELVES? Don't worry, my parents dropped us off *right* at the ticket scan, and picked us up right after.

Quite a fun show; the opening-opening act, Honor Society, was very good (I'll definately be buying their first album in September!). Plus, the drummer was cute ;)

Jordin Sparks was the main opening act, and she was fabulous.

It feels nice to have my computer back again, although it's slower than my laptop.

Alas, beggars can't be choosers.

I'll post a TR update tomorrow, possibly.

Peace :hippie:

Day 6--MGM! Part One--TSM & More

August 20, 2008

We woke up bright and early. We had to make it to MGM (I still call it MGM. Grew up with calling it that, and "DHS" doesn't float my boat, ya know?) for TSM!

The good: We got to the bus stop half an hour early.

The bad: A bunch of MK, Epcot, and AK buses passed by before, FINALLY, an MGM bus.

So close to 9:00 rope drop...do we make it?

Nope :headache:

RUSH to TSM! Rush, rush, rush! (Not unlike the lunch rush/class breaks at school!)

We were able to snap two quick pics on the way to Pixar Place:

The line was already 40-60 minutes long (the details are a bit fuzzy; it's been almost a year!), and the FP line at 20 minutes (at least!) OMG! :scared1:

We hopped in the Standby line anyway. It actually took about 35 minutes; not too bad for 10 minutes after rope drop!

Some pics from the queue:

Mr. Potato Head was pretty dang cool! We got our 3D glasses and hopped onto the Midway! :3dglasses The ride was awesome!

The Good: Fun ride, would do it again with 30 minute or less wait.

The Bad: The ride kept stopping! After every game or so! Stop, stop, stop. "Practice throwing". But no points, darn. It ruined the continuity of the game.

But overall, very good and fun.

We left Pixar Place and headed down to Tower of Terror for a quick scream before our lunch ADR's.

Yum, ice cream! One of mom's co-workers did her CP here, and she asked for us to take a pic of it:

Approaching ToT:

Wheeee! We were on in about 20 minutes (start to elevator). The lightning in the library gets me EVERY TIME. We ended up going on ToT four times on this day, and each time, it got me!

See if you can spot us!

And yep, we're wearing our raincoats. Faye was still in the area. She didn't leave til about 2, 3 days after we left!

We picked up FP's for Rock 'n' RollerCoaster and headed back down Sunset Boulevard.

Our ADR's were for 11:30 (yes, early, we know) at 50's PTC...

Stay tuned :)

Thrill Ride Junkies--unite!
Do you SERIOUSLY have to ask me that, Mom?

Uh-Oh! As soon as I saw that first picture, I thought, "Looks like they're going to get rained on... I hope they remembered their ponchos!"

TSM looks so cool... I may be the only DISer who hasn't been on it yet!

Personally, I like early lunches... so much less crowded and you get seated right away!

I recognize your tone (below). :snooty: I am a Mo-OMM! after all... ;)

Kathy
Eek, and rain it did!

But that's to come later ;)

Ha, you'll see what happens! I'll post in a few days.

Oh! And it's my birthday on Thursday! 16! :teeth:

I'm here!

I was going to read through the whole report but realized if I don't comment as I go along, I'm going to forget. So I've gotten through three pages.......

First - how lucky and cool that you take a trip to WDW with a friend? This is Lauren's DREAM! She's already planning her sweet 16 and thinks I should be hosting her and her closest friends. Yeah, we'll see.:rolleyes1

Rose and Crown - one of our FAVORITE places to eat in all of Epcot. And I adore the fish and chips!

As for Twilight. I don't get it. My sister gave the book to my older daughter for xmas so I've been reading it to her. Not digging it. I think because the movie has already been out and I just keep picturing the actors in the roles - and I can't STAND RPatz or Kristen Stewart. UGH!:headache: Sorry - hope I haven't insulted anyone.

Off to finish.....................

Ok, just got through page four and REALLY needed to comment............

MAJOR props to your dad for posing with the princesses! So hilarious and adorable!

(FYI - I'm sitting her DISing while Lauren is watching JONAS! HAHA!)

Twilight...the books are good. Really good (for the most part). The movie STUNK. RPatz is horrible (casting him as Edward was a mistake) and Kristen can't act.

Rose & Crown was indeed yummy. :goodvibes

Aww, really? That's awesome about Lauren :)

Lauren has amazing taste :thumbsup2

And ha, Dad was more than willing to pose with the princesses! ;)

(Though he was probably wishing for Jasmine or Ariel!)
