Please tell me what your favorite moderate is to help me make my decision! WHy do you love/hate about each?

We absolutely loved the smaller size of the POFQ, and the atmosphere is magical too! :goodvibes

If they had their own bus to the parks instead of sharing with POR it would be perfect

Good luck with your decision, and have a great trip :thumbsup2

I love the CBR. My favorite things are the colors, the music and the shops. I love walking across the bridge to OPR and enjoying the landscaping, and the water. It always feels like vacation!!!!:beach:

CSR!! Check out my CSR website below for pics and info. Great pool. awesome transportation and terrific food options.

Another vote for POFQ!. The resort is gorgeous and everything is so close that even the furthest rooms aren't that far away from things. The boat to DTD is a great option. But the 2 best things about this resort is beignets and it has its own bus stop at MK in the evening. They are picked up and dropped off first to and from the parks, so getting a seat is never an issue on the way there. On the way back, you may have to stand but not for long.

CSR...best pool area hands down with largest pool, hot tub and longest slide! I must also mention that their bus system is great also which makes a big difference when you don't have a car.

#1 CSR - best pool with best slide, lots of seating, largest hot tub, all in a great themed setting / best food court with lots of choices / beautiful resort with three themes in one from city to beaches, we call it "SW Tropical" / lake with boating amenities / great transportation / stunning a night, and beautiful to walk around

#2 POR - fun pool area with a great theme, love that it is shaped to lend itself to a kid end with slide and kiddie pool and adult end by hot tub and bar / good food court that we have actually eaten at even though staying at CBR / two themes in one along a nice river / amenities on property / boat to DTD / great quiet pools especially in AB where they are free form and hidden among the landscape / great southern charm relaxing style, lovely to walk around

CBR - this was our least favorite resort for a number of reasons and without a huge discount I don't plan to stay again.

POFQ - we have eaten there, walked around and while it has many fans I don't have plans to stay unless it is also a great rate. I just can't justify a moderate rate for a resort without all the amenities of a moderate.

Maybe it's because we are from the south but we are INLOVE w/ RIverside. The Alligator Bayou section is so cozy and welcoming and my little boy LOVED the pool. Only downside was the long walk to the lobby from where we were positioned and the many bus stops.

COMMENTS ON PORT ORLEANS, FRENCH QUARTER

I find that Port Orleans has several advantages when compared to the other WDW resorts that I have visited.. One of the major things I like about Port Orleans is the small size of the resort compared to the others. (At both the Boardwalk Inn and the Animal Kingdom Lodge, for example, I was assigned a room so far from the lobby that I considered calling a taxicab to get from my room to the resort lobby and bus stop. The Polynesian was also impressive, but also expensive, and one can end up quite far from the lobby, etc.)

I enjoyed Port Orleans Riverside, but again, the resort is very spread out, and one can end up walking quite a ways to the food court and lobby.

The French Quarter: ADVANTAGES AS I SEE IT:

Small resort, with all buildings a short walk to food court, busses, lobby, pool, etc.
The grounds are well landscaped, and the iron railings do remind one of New Orleans, as do the walkways with names like “Rutabaga.”
Parking is close in for each building, and guest’s autos are easily accessed.
All buildings are three stories, with elevators in each building.
All the rooms I have stayed in have been peaceful, with no noise, and some have a river view of the Sassagoula River.
All rooms were recently remodeled, and include a small refrigerator.
The cast members at the resort have all been excellent during my several stays there, doing their jobs well, and the Magic is evident throughout the resort.
The pool is a favorite with most guests, and has a bar, with pool-side tables.
The lounge, near the lobby, features jazz musician Elliot Dyson three or four nights a week.
The food court is first-rate, with a good selection, and plenty of tables for guests.
The busses stop first at Port Orleans - coming and going.
Boats are on hand throughout the day to take guests to Riverside, or to Downtown Disney.
Port Orleans is a “moderate” resort, with very reasonable rates.

The French Quarter: DISADVANTAGES AS I SEE IT:

There is no table service restaurant. One must walk to Riverside (or take the boat) to visit the nearest restaurant.

Enjoy.
