You don't drink from the water fountains...do you?

I'm also not a germophobe - never would have even thought not to use the drinking fountain until now!

But, you all know that any CS place in DL will give you a free cup of ice water, right? So, no need to bother with the fountain at all! Of course, you may have to wait in line at the restaurant to get it, but there's usually someplace that doesn't have a line. I jsut do that - drink it out of a cup, with a lid. Much better!

When I was there last year, I think I was walking past the Fire Station, when I see this homeless looking guy walk up to a water fountain and put the whole faucet (or whatever it's called -- the silver part where the water comes out) in his mouth.

:worried: See, stuff like that is just *shakes head*

That was just a father of young multiples having meltdowns seperated from his family and at his wits end:lmao:

Do you go to the doctor's office? - there's the biggest germ magnet of them all. My DW hates taking the kids to doc for well checks, because they ALWAYS are sick the next day or two after being in that waiting room with all those sick kids.
The great thing about my kids doctor is he has 2 waiting rooms. The doors have signs on them, Sick and Well. This way the sick kids don't get the other kids sick.:worship:

Ours has that too... which I love, and newborn (up to 6 months) well-baby checks are only on Wednesday mornings--and no sick kids are allowed until Wednesday afternoons...

So none of Tuesday's germs are hanging around on Wednesday morning? :lmao:

They sanitize everything every night... and you can tell they are very cautious... which I am glad about, since before my dd was 2 she had: pneumonia, whooping cough (which she had been vax'd for), hand/foot & mouth, measles (yep vax'd against those too), gastroenteritis 2 times, and rotovirus... gotta love daycare...

So, yeah, I am the mom that uses hand wipes every other ride, and lysols most of the hotel room... dd has been sick enough for 10 kids... and I am done!

Is it possible she's sick all the time because she was unable to build up her immune system with all of the sanitizing that's been going on her whole life? Not judging...just wondering if that may have something to do with it.

I wasn't this clean until the 2nd bout of gastroenteritis... and thankfully I breastfed her until she was a little over 2... her ped says it was what kept her out of the hospital for dehydration multiple times... I had been a nanny and an elementary educator prior to having a little one, and thought a little dirt won't hurt... until we spent most of two years in and out of the doctor (unless her fever was actually below 105--then I didn't bother!) On the other hand, now none of us get sick... and I couldn't tell you for sure whether its because we've had it all, or because I stepped up the cleaning.

Interesting. Who knows, really. There are so many factors involved with getting sick. And what works for some may not work for others. As long as your daughter is healthy now...that's what matters.

:rotfl2: When we lived in CA our pediatrician's office had this too - but not our current one. I guess sick kids just have to deal with no doctor on Monday or Tuesday... heaven help them if they get sick on the weekend...

That's what I was thinking!! I was usually the kid that got sick over the weekend too.

I guess I wasn't clear, sick kids could go in on Mon & Tues, just not at the same time as the well-baby checks (the little ones) on Wed morning... if you got sick Tuesday after hours, you had to wait until Wed afternoon or go to the ER...

for those who don't like the taste of the water go to your local store and get the little flavor packets(like 10 for a $1-2) they come in tea, lemonaide, punch and i'm sure some more. simply dump into 16.9 oz of water shake(to mix it) and your good to go. will mask alot of stuff.

oh dasani and aquafina the top 2 selling bottled water is just tap water in a plastic bottle:rotfl2:

I am doing this next trip!!! What a great idea. I drank (and will continue to drink) out of water fountains. My complaint about the DL fountains is the taste of the water. I'm VERY weird about water....it shouldn't taste. I did drink but just kind of had to gulp and not think about it (or put a piece of gum in my mouth!!).

Thanks for this one!
