You can see right into my neighbors house

I never close any window treatments in my house except the bedrooms at night. Our family room is at the back of the house and no one lives behind us, but I really don't worry about it. Since I don't parade naked through the house, I don't see the issue.

We have no curtains or window treatments of any kind yet either. As you can see from the photo, we don't need them. :teeth:

:rotfl: I needed a little levity tonight. . .thanks!

Funny you would mention this. We have a subdivision in town, about 4 years old. The houses are all starters in price but are quite large. . .most are 2 stories. About 20 of them back up to a 4 lane road. 10 of the 20 houses have no privacy window treatments of any kind! When you drive by you see into their LRs, DRs, Kitchens & BRs. My DSis and I have always thought it bizzare! Is it a design/taste thing with the young or lack of money? Too goldfish in a bowl for me!

It's probably lack of money, LOL! We couldn't afford blinds for a good couple of years after we bought our first house. I hope that we never gave anyone an eyefull during that timeframe :earseek:

Maybe some of these folks are in the same situation I was in after I bought my home. I had custom window treatments done. It took six months to get everything in. It wasn't a lack of money. The companies were just slow!

We live on a corner, and the side of our house is on a fairly busy street. When we moved into our house, the french doors that are on that side of the house had sheer window treatments on them. From the street you could pretty much see our entire living room, kitchen, and hallway. I was paranoid to be out of the bedrooms after dark for fear someone would watch me. :rotfl: I got opaque blinds on those windows just as quickly as I could, but that actually took a couple of months.

I'm a blinds person. My father is a retired policeman, and he always liked blinds on the window. Talked to too many criminals who did watch people through their uncovered windows, got and idea of who slept where, what they had, what their schedule was etc. :earseek: :earseek:

Truthfully, as a nurse I have taken care of inmates who have told me the same thing. Criminals LOVE people without blinds!!!!!!!!
