Last fall, while we were having the pool closed, one of the workers said, "I would never have a gunite pool, the tiles fall off all of the time. Knock on wood, we never lost any until THEN and he pointed to a couple of loose tiles. I went over, touched them and they fell in the water! The smug little guy said, "don't worry, XYZ pool company can fix anything for a price". I lost about 12 inches of the bottom layer, a few out of the top layer and of course, I thought about it most of the winter. Thursday I drove over to the pool company that installed our pool. The technician said, "don't worry, this is something you can do as long as you have the tile to do it. I will give you everything you need". He gave me a bag of white cement and a bag of white limestone, the directions for sticking the tiles on, the directions for the grout and the directions for the white plaster. Today, DH and I pulled back the pool cover and within a half hour, we have all of the tiles back on. I am going to let them set up overnight, grout the spaces tomorrow, patch the plaster than chipped off right below the tiles and my total cost???? $3.39 for a trowel we didn't even need to buy. :lmao::thumbsup2
