You CAN attend the Official Pirate's Movie Screening and Premiere...

Ha! I'm going to use that next time someone at work complains about high prices of movies. "Well, you could be paying $1,500 to go to Pirates 3.

It would be very cool to watch it at Disneyland, but I think I'll stick with waiting a week and only spending $20 for the two of us. lol

I'm going with my two sons! I'm so excited. Haven't told them yet. We've made reservations 3 times this year and have had to cancel. I made reservations for May 19th and told my husband that we weren't canceling for anything! Then, I find out that we picked the weekend that the POC3 is going to premier. It will be so much fun!!!

I'll just stick with paying $10 for myself when I go see the midnight showing:banana: . I have been to the midnight showing for the past two movies and it's SO much fun. Sure the crowds are HUGE but if you get there at least 2.5 hours or earlier before the showing you're good. Everyone there is pumped. When we went to see POTC2 there was a guy doing cartwheels and flips off the walls entertaining everyone, it was hilarious. ALOT of people dressed up.pirate:

sorry for the long post!

$1500 is an insane amt. of money for a general admin to the premiere. But at least the money all goes to MAWF. :thumbsup2 I'm with everyone else though.. I'll wait until it hits the theatres and pay $8 a ticket. :)

I would almost be tempted if we were'nt already going to be at Dis on the 9th and 10th and San Diego for a week going home on the 18th. What a memorable event for a child. My son is 3 and a half and would love to do something like that. Just think, what is 3,000 over the course of a lifetime.:rotfl2:

I'll be camped out on Main Street that day. I figure I'll have a blast hanging with my friends. And we may get a chance for an autograph or two. I'm pretty sure that if I shelled out the money to actually see the movie, I still wouldn't get seated next to Johnny or Orlando, so no reason to spend that kind of money. I'll just wait a week and see it at the midnight showing.

It is a lot of money but it is tax deductible and Make a Wish is a good charity. While we were finishing our taxes, I did some analysis to figure out how much it will "really" cost us once we get the tax credit and so now I have mentally changed the "price" to the reduced cost once we take the charitable contribution. Helps justify the expense. And, it feels good that it is going to help a worthy charity.

The park will open and close early for the premiere. We were there during the POC2 premiere. They roped off the area by the lagoon to install seats for the movie and made it difficult getting around New Orleans square.

Yes, we aren't even going to go into the park that day. Initially we were planning to pay the $30 because our AP is blacked out that day. But, now we'll just skip that and come later in the afternoon in time for the premier.

This may sound insane, but I did pay $100 for four people to go. We decided to see it at the El Capitan on Memorial Day (I can't wait) and I got front row balcony. Of course, the price does include popcorn and a drink for each person so overall not that bad. Has anyone ever visited the El Capitan so I know what to expect?
