You are WARNED: MK is CROWDED 3/21!!

Ok friends! Just want to warn those of you who are on your way down to WDW, the MK was JAM PACKED today 3/21! I have NEVER seen crowds in Fantasyland especially like I did this afternoon!

It was absolute grid lock between Small World and Peter Pan--got forbid if there was an emergency--it would have been a bad situation! I think it had something to do with the new stroller parking area by the old sky ride station and new entrance to Small World, traffic did not flow!

Around 1;30pm wait time for Small World was 60 minutes, Peter Pan was 70 minutes, and Snow White was 50 minutes. Just to give you an idea! No rain yet, but the clouds are rolling in!

OH MY! I will never go around Easter. I have been there in the summer, Sept, Oct, & mid March & I have never seen a wait a Small World.

Thanks for the update - we were there last year for spring break the week before Easter, which is why we are at home this year! My kids have been doing the "last year at this time we were in WDW......" it helps to tell them about the long lines and the stormy weather.

I do hope thing improve for you though-lots of luck!!

We will be going in July so we are probably in for similar conditions.

When we left on Friday, Small World still hadn't reopened after the refurb. I'll bet it will be really busy for the next few months while people check out the new and improved version.

I think I've finally dried out from last week's drenching rain!

I know when I was at MGM on Sunday someone said Disney was expecting 30,000 people at MGM that day. To me it seemed as crowded as super soap weekend.

It's A Small World reopened yesterday, which was a GORGEOUS day---weather-wise! Today, however, is cool, cloudy and now it is raining.

We avoid the parks the 2 weeks around Easter and the 2 weeks around Christmas.

We were there at Easter last year and it was very crowded. But where else can you have such a good time in a crowded place. If you are smart, you just go with the flow. If you cannot get on a ride, there is always plenty else to do, like pin trading. You can catch the show at the Castle forecourt. Don't get stressed out by the crowds. Sit on a bench with a cool drink or a Mickey Ice Cream Bar, and watch the people. Best of all "Think Disney" I wish I were there right now!

Someone please tell me that a "regular" summer week is not as bad as Christmas, Easter and July 4th!!!

Don't worry, a regular week in the summer is nothing at all like Easter or Christmas. With all of the information you will acquire through these boards, your summer trip will be a breeze!

If you are heading down there this week, don't freak out over this post. Just enjoy the magic of Disney. By getting an early start and using fast pass you can have a wonderful vacation during the busiest times.

Just remember to bring the most important thing......A good attitude!

We usually never go in the summer. Last year we went in the middle of june and it wasnt to bad. I am taking my friends there June 29 - July 6. How bad will it be? I am getting worried that it will be really really busy and wont make the trip as good for my one friends, its his first time.

In the event of an emergency.... you get to go backstage LOL! I have seen them do it when it was really crowded and a storm broke out. You would be amazed how many ways there really are out of there.

I live in so Cal and went to DL (AP holder) last night and it wasn't crowded in the least bit! The new "Buzz Lightyear" attraction (which officially opened on Thursday 3/17) had a posted 45 minute wait and we got in line and waited only 15 minutes!

I guess DL isn't nearly the draw that WDW at this time.

For Donalds best pal: Huge crowds will be an issue because you are going at the most crowded time in summer, the July 4 holiday time which includes all the days you will be there, and the third most crowded time of year (behind Christmas and the Easter weeks); MK goes to capacity July 4 because it has the late night fireworks extravaganza and people start packing it early for the event. Unfortunately, it will make that previous trip during middle of June feel like you went during off-season.

Heat will be another issue. Mid-90's day, still hot at night. Worst time in parks is 10 to 3:30 both because of crowds and heat. Hit parks as early as possible; also afternoon to evening between 4 and 8 can be better than rest of huge crowd time. Tendency to have two or three late afternoon to evening thunderstorms that may last about 30 minutes a piece.

What they say about Mondays is true. I was at MK on Monday 3/7 and have never seen it so crowded.

We leave on Thursday and yes I have seen the reports that it will be crowded. We are season's pass holders to Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, IL and I have to believe that my "training" from there will make this seem like a cakewalk. There are no fast passes (unless you pay for it) so for the "good" rides a two hour wait is not uncommon. Once you get in line for the rides you are met with employees (not cast members) many of whom are 15 years old and roll their eyes more than smile. I am preparing myself for the fact that WDW will be MUCH more crowded than it was November 2003, but I'm sure it will still beat Six Flags Great America all to pieces. Besides, it's still freezing here at least in Florida it'll be warmer

We were there last March 13th - 20th. The Magic Kingdom was very busy each time we visited (almost overwhleming). And last year the jam between small world and snow white was just as bad. However, the rains came, the park claered out somewhat and we were able to ride many rides for the hour or so after the rain let up. Having said that though, Epcot and MGM Studios were not quite as crowded this same week last year.

Attitude is everything. I have been there on Spring Break (2000) and several times in October. Small lines are obviously better, but Disney provides more "extras" during busy times, so it does even out.

We are coming on Sunday and can't wait for the sunshine. March in the Great Palins has been cold and gray.
