49 people

if you have extra (for those who signed up late) there are (total numbers)

I will have a complete list with cabin numbers (we are only missing two as of right now) just before I leave and I will have copies at the Meet ... 3:00 on the 24th in the Promenade Lounge :thumbsup2

any questions?
We leave 14 days from TODAY!! :cool1::cool1:

Lynn, here is a link I had saved. I don't remember if I contacted them or not. We decided to go with Disney transfers. You could always do the same if a car service doesn't work out.

Hello,
I am so excited to read everyone's comments ! 19 days to go ! ! ! :banana::banana::banana:
We have just finalized our plans for this cruise :cool1:, but still stuck on transportation to Dover:scared1:. I see that you are going with the Disney transfers, how can we get that?!
Thanks a bunch !

We are using a car service that we used the last time we were in the UK. A lovely man runs the service. I emailed him this morning and he said that he could handle transfers between Gatwick and Dover or Heathrow and Dover around our cruise (he's already handling ours). His email address is lushi@blueyonder.co.uk, and if you reach out to him, just let him know you get his information from me. Hope that helps.

This is great. I actually ordered 55 of our gift for a cushion (no homemade FE gifts for us!!!), so I'm happy to include those who signed up late.

Welcome Tinks! If you are interested in Disney transfers, either call your TA or if you didn't use a TA contact DCL directly.

When and what airport are you arriving at?

HI there !
Thanks for your reply! I live outside the US so I would have to find the righht time ( keeping time difference in mind) to call DCL... Is there a way that I could do this through email or through the DCL website?
We are arriving a day before and spending the night in london, so we would need transportation from the hotel to the port...
I am so excited about this cruise! :cheer2:

I think if you go to the DCL website you can add the ground transfers there. Just look up your reservation to see how to do it. You need to go online to fill out your cruise docs and charging info. Pretty sure you will find the info you need there.

Dover Taxi responded to my correspondence and quoted me 225 pounds for a round trip fare for a small car and 285 pounds for a large fare.

Is this a good rate? It's about as much as our plane tickets fro Switzerland.

This is a good rate from what research I have done. one way with 7 people (mini bus) is 200 pounds. and this was the best price I could find.

just thinking.. if we have a mini bus, there may be room for another small party. Let me know if you would like for me to look into it. We are going to the Marble arch area of London.

We are looking for a pick up from Gatwick airport on June 23, so that probably wouldn't work. But thanks!

Oh, and what time should we arrange the return trip on July 6? What time do we get off the ship?

DH is going through shock at the expenses to get to Dover and to overnight there.

I believe that our time for getting off the ship is 10:30 AM, later than normal due to tides in the harbor (or something to that effect). Disney suggested not scheduling return flights until after 4:00 PM.

I wonder if Disney will reduce the cost of side trips due to the fall of the Euro???:confused3 We have 30 FE gifts so far

Not likely. But if you were doing stuff on your own, it could work out a bit better for you, especially in Germany where the Euro is the currency (taking a Disney excursion so my only real plan is to buy beer, well, that will be a bit cheaper than I thought). Even Norway and Denmark and Sweden were down a little bit on the exchange rate.

I'm probably the last of the group to leave the US as I am going to work on the 23rd and my flight to London isn't until 10 PM here in DC, so I am taking the Disney transfer from Heathrow to the ship. Scheduled landing in London is 10:05 AM on June 24.

TDC, I'll be just a bit ahead of you. Our flight leaves IAD @ 6:40 PM. I figure we will need to leave the house by 2:30. Need to beat the start of rush hour on the beltway and I don't live very close to the beltway to begin with. The morning of the 23rd is going to be crazy, getting the dogs to the kennell and probably last minute packing. But the end result will be fantastic!!

Ordered small amounts of foreign currency from the bank today. Just thought I would like to have some on hand before arriving in all the differnt countries.

I guess the only thing left to do is pack!!

Remember we're just a bit ahead of you, as our flight leaves JFK at 6, landing at Heathrow in the morning of the 24th at 6:25 am. Definitely need to plan for traffic heading to JFK. Cannot believe that the first cruise departs a week from tomorrow. Wow.

We're with you on picking up small amounts of currency, except for pounds (we need to pay our car driver in cash for the drive to Dover and back) and euros (our tour in Berlin needs to be paid in cash). We'll pay for the tour in Russia in dollars. We're hoping to charge most things in the other ports and figure we can get buy with just a little local currency. Haven't gotten around to that yet...

I looked at the 6:40 pm flight but decided to work a whole day - I have to go to Dulles from downtown DC via Metro and the Washington Flyer bus. I live within 20 minutes of Dulles but I'm coming from work.

Gonna keep an eye out as to what's going on on the 6/12 cruise, especially how the food is and disembarking in St. Petersburg as Disney's never done it before. I have a friend who blogged one of the Med cruises and the desserts look good...

I think I will be getting all my currency in-country from ATMs except for a few euros I have left over from the Med cruise.

Do you think Disney will give people with private tours in St. Petersburg a hard time getting off the ship? I've read on Cruise Critic about other cruiselines not letting people with private tours get off before or with the ships shore excursions.

On the Med cruise, we had no problem getting off in Rome for our private tour. I hope Disney is reasonable in this regard.

Hi everyone !
Does anyone know if we will be able to watch the World Cup anywhere on the ship!?

Huge Soccer Fan ! :cool1:

I know there is a lot of speculation about how Disney will handle debarkation in St. Pete for people who didn't book with them. It seems so un-Disney to give people a hard time about that. I think people have said they would try to post live from the first Baltic, so we can be sure to ask that question and see how it goes. There is a similar issue for Warnemunde and people doing Berlin on their own. I assume most people are going into Berlin on Disney's train, so there's going to be a large exodus all at once to board that train. I am already assuming that we're going to have to wait for that exodus to be over before we can meet our guide and get in his car.

Actually, with the exception of Key West (and Castaway Cay, obviously), we've never left a Disney cruise without being on a Disney tour. It will be interesting, as I think in every port, there will be people doing things on their own.
