So we last went to WDW in 2008. Since we're currently expecting (in a few days, yikes!) we don't have a current trip planned, either. We watched Ratatouille tonight for the first time, and I was telling DH about Remy/Remi at Les Chefs De France, and also talking about what great reviews the restaurant has had, especially on the podcast. I'm thinking out loud that we'll do our usual 2 days at Epcot next trip, do one at Biergarten (becoming a tradition for us, and DH is of German descent) and the other at Les Chefs. Well...in 2008, I tried to get us into Le Cellier. Basically due to the hype. We didn't get in, but had a decent meal at Teppan Edo. Unfortunately, I must have made quite the impression about Le Cellier! He, of course, said he wanted to eat there instead! Ugh. I guess I'm to the point now that I'm over it just because it is so hyped. When will I learn to stop talking things up so much?

And, again, let's remember that it's not like we have dates or anything!! I'm just thinking. And, in reality, DH will go wherever I tell him he's going and he won't really know the difference, because I will make all the ADRs, etc. I could probably just tell him that was the place and make him think he had forgotten! (He's not a disney nerd like me)

Anyway, I thought maybe you guys could relate!

As a canadian I wonder what's so good about Le Cellier... Do you know what's the main dish everyone goes for?

Le Cellier is one of the better restaurants *not* in a resort. It's a good restaurant, really it is, but it's not the heaven-on-Earth that people make it out to be.

The most popular dishes are cheddar cheese soup, pretzel bread, steaks of various types (I think the mushroom filet mignon is the most popular?), and maple creme brulee.

I haven't been to Canada, but it probably works better if you think of it as "interpretations of things that are popular in Canada" rather than "authentically Canadian food."

It's popular because the DDP people can order steak for 1 table service credit in a theme park. And there's not a lot of seating there compared to other restaurants, so it's that more difficult to get.

I would say the filet is the dish most people tend to get. At least, it seems that way based on the majority of posts I've seen over the years.
