Is the Yorkshire County Fish & Chips still serving tasteless tilapia as the fish or have they gone back to cod. I used to like it, but haven't eaten there since I found out the hard way that they had changed from cod to tilapia.

Cod is expensive. I doubt that they will ever go back. Nor will I.

Just ate there for the first time last week and thought the fish was strangely tasteless, so . . .

We were there this past September and wasnt to pleased with the overall taste..definitely not Cod...Probably wont go back

Tasteless fish?
That's because you're supposed to douse it with the accompanying vinegar.
I'm not joking! The vinegar goes on both the fish and the fries chips.

You know, I was just in London and maybe Disney is tyring to go for hte authentic experience. I honestly thought the best food would be fish & chips - nope! Talk about flavorless. I can do better here. I guess that's why they drown it in malt vinegar. Everything was flavorless though. I know that's the reputation, but I had assumed it was exaggerated. It was not.

The best fish and chips I've ever had was at a British pub in Japan. As I'd never been to the UK, I just assumed that was the taste of authentic British fish and chips. Alas, now you have me doubting myself. Maybe next time I'm at EPCOT I should just get some tempura at the Japan pavilion. 😂

Oh, no. If it had flavor it is not authenticly British! 🤣 I can get better Fish & Chips here. They don't even put salt on the fries! On that whole trip the best food I had was the Chinese food in the Houston Airport on the way home. Wow, so that's what seasoning tastes like!

Okay but what about Leo Burdocks in Dublin? I've never been there, but I've heard they have excellent fish and chips. Maybe what we need is an Irish pavilion . . .

I was not in Dublin, so I couldn't say. In London though - man! Outside of a couple of above board deserts, there was not much to write home about food-wise! There are a few Irish Pubs around here that make great fish & chips. An Irish pavillion would be cool for sure.

Here in Buffalo they use haddock for Friday Fish Frys and that is pretty good. Tilapia is so flimsy, I would never choose it for a fish and chips, surprised at that choice.

Maybe that's why we don't see many restaurants serving authentic English cuisine here in the States. To be honest, I don't think there’s an English restaurant here in New England.

I had an order of bangers and mash years back near the Brighton Palace Pier. It was really good!

London has some fantastic Indian food.

Ah yes - I couldn't get any of my family to go to an Indian place. I would have in a heartbeat!

To be fair, I was born in New England and have a lot of family there. It's not exactly flavor-town for most things, but it's shockingly better than England proper. I have been in a few chain-style "British" pubs, but they really weren't even claiming authenticity, which is probably for the best. 🤣

Gotta disagree that New England isn't flavor-town. Lots of really good restaurants in RI. Johson & Wales culinary school is in Providence. Also, you can't beat New England seafood.

Well, don't get me wrong, there is a lot of good food to be had. I've had soem great clam chowder in Newport and or course Italian all over RI. That said, it does tend to be a bit more subtle than down here (the South), and there are such bland things as New England Boiled Dinner. My grandmotehr is from there and it showed in her cooking. It's just not quite up to the robust kick of food around here. There are certianly things they do well. Fish & chips are still WAY better than London, but I'd personally go for some southern fried catfish with hushpuppies!
