What are you talking about? The blue filter enhancement of the phone pic was disgusting or the food? Tilapia fillets don't show up "blue gray" anymore than say... cod.
Eat what you will; it's fine with me.
Err......what are you talking about? What are you talking about?

I ate there in early August 2018. Did not notice anything off with the fish colour, and it tasted fine. I would guess you got a bad batch.View attachment 382227 View attachment 382228 This is what was served to us in late August, 2018. This was after the switch to tilapia, look at the color of the fish. We will never eat there again! It was disgusting.
When they were using cod it never had that dark coloring.I agree. Tilapia is white. You can't blame the color in those pictures on them using tilapia. If they're serving fish that looks like that, it's not because they're using tilapia.

Whatever. The pictures are clear and accurate. So now they serve tilapia that's rotten. It was still disgusting. It has been reported that Yorkshire never used cod. Regardless, tilapia doesn't look like the pictures you posted. If that was a clear & accurate picture, what you received was way beyond the point of being considered rotten for tilapia.

The things we do for loveI'll take one for the team next week. Even though we're dining at Rose and Crown for the Illuminations Dining Package I'll grab an order of Fish and Chips at Yorkshire at some point during our trip. I'll take pics and maybe video the order once I get it. I'll also do a comparison of what they serve at R&C and at Yorkshire. Compared to Cod, Haddock and Pollock, Tilapia is pretty distinctive and I should be able to tell in short order if that's what it is.
Oh the sacrifices we make in the name of research ;-)
If I'm reading this thread right, people will do anything for love, but they won't do that (eat tilapia). The things we do for love.
“Maybe halibut.” Huh? I doubt they’d use halibut. It’s a relatively expensive fish. Halibut is also quite a bit firmer than cod, but fries well (usually in chunks). It also freezes well. (From Alaska, grew up halibut fishing.)tilapia is a wonderful light flaky white fish. However not good for frying. I seriously doubt they are frying that if your getting big hunks fish. More likely if its bad they are using old frozen pieces of cod maybe halibut. I have no opinion as haven't eaten there recently but plan to try in Oct. And also catfish would be very available and cheap but if not cleaned properly would be nasty.
