YoHo, YoHo, A Mother's Day Trip to the Mouse!

I haven't heard of reservations for those, but I wouldn't think it would be a problem, mostly since people are in the parks most of the time. We went to see the Poly one time, it was about 3 in the afternoon, and they had boats all over the place!!! There's a couple different marinas going on, so you're bound to find one.

I'd be interested to find out too. I'm thinking of renting the sea raycers for Joe's b-day it is something we can do together. I've considered fishing, segways, etc. but all of those would have to be solo. I just remembered about the illuminations cruise too...mmm need to go check that out.

Looks like you had a good weekend! The girls look cute in their ball uniforms. :thumbsup2

Yeah, I wanted to do something a little different and when I saw that you could rent boats I was very excited.

Hi!
Just stopping by to see your PTR. Your family is beautiful. What a wonderful Mother's Day gift. I love the pics from Seaside Heights. I grew up in NJ and spent waaay too much of my youth at Seaside. Can't wait ot keep reading.

Oh really you grew up in NJ. I would like to take the kids back for another little vacation one day! We really did enjoy it out there. Seaside Heights was a blast of course.
Thanks for joining me here!!

Yeah, I would like to do the boat from the marina at DTD because that's we're we'll be that day, but the woman I spoke to on the phone told me about the other marinas. So I guess if they didn't have one available there we could go somewhere else. I'm sure it won't be a problem though!!
I can't wait, I'm so excited about this!!

I know, Chris and Tyler are excited too. My dad will probably rent one with DSM and then I'll be the odd person out!! That's alright, I'll stay on shore and SHOP!!!! HAHAHAHA we can go out in the boat anytime....when it runs!!! LOL Those little ones do look pretty cool!!! Maybe I will be able to get some cool pics out of it!!! :) I'm SOOOO glad we changed to the fort, and we have the first day as a resort day. I'm used to GO GO GO when we go, it makes it tough to sit back and relax!!!

Did you call and find out about the second room packet? I was on the phone FOREVER getting all my stuff straight.

Thanks for all of the FP rides, I found a list on here as well!!!

Me and my best friend were just talking about Disney Plans for next year, and pricing it out. I believe we are going to stay at Port Orleans Riverside! We are so excited, we were just on the phone with each other looking at pictures of the resort and the water slides...How awesome!!! We're of course hoping free dining comes back out, which i'm assuming because I doubt within the year the economy is going to be back to normal! Emily will also be 10 next year, so I will be paying for 4 "adults" and 2 kids :sad2: Let me tell ya the price is a little scary.... No not really, it's actually going to be cheaper for us next year with the free dining( HOPEFULLY) And we're planning on 9 nights/ 10 days. That is so exciting! I haven't even went on this trip and I am already so looking forward to next years. That's good though, hopefully I will not be so depressed thinking about Disney when my trip is over! I will already have another one to plan, and start paying for:goodvibes

Who here goes or has been in August, can you tell me about the heat? I know it will be hot and we'll have to prepare very well for this trip with ice packs and misting fans. What is your experience going at this time!

August.....YIKES!!! I live here and it's tough!! LOL HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT....misting fans help...a little. Just be prepared, use LOTS of deoderant, the fans, and SUNSCREEN....lots of it!!!! And mid day breaks in the pool....that's probably the best bet for august.

Ok think hot, now think Africa hot, well it is hotter than that..........:lmao:. Seriously, it is very, very hot.

Ok, i'm scared, maybe we'll rethink our plans and try for the end of September, would that be better? I'm not really a huge fan of the extreme heat:eek: That sounds bad! Is there a difference between mid august and the end of september?

We wanted to go for august because #1 that's when free dining would start if it's offered. #2 So we can go for 9 nights instead of 7. Nicole does not want to take her kids out of school for that long. So maybe we'll just have to settle for 7 in September! Let me know what you think!

we went end of september with free dining- crowds were AWESOME- we walked on everything. the weather was rainy and hot. But each day we had bright hot sunshine. With breaks back at the hotel after lunch for a swim- it was the best vacation we have ever been on!!

September is a *LITTLE* cooler then August, still high 80's, humidity drops down from like 90% to about 80%, but it should be a little less crowded. The nights should be nice in Sept. just not AS hot as August, and not as busy. I can always let you know after our September trip this year!! LOL I have gone in August for the day before, and you feel like you're melting. I've been in sept too, but you don't have that melting feeling. It's only April and already it almost feels like summer here, mid 80's and the humidity was in full force last week, has calmed down a bit today, but it's still warm out there...VERY nice in the evenings!!! Right now anyways :) I wouldn't wish August on my worst enemy!! You can go down Kali, get SOAKED, and be uncomfortably hot 10 minutes later....it gets that bad in august!!

sorry to jump in here- but since you are from the area... do you think the boys will need sweatshirts or a light jacket for at night in the parks? We are going May 5th-12th??

We usually go in May and we have needed a jacket once. 2 years ago it was beautiful during the day, but 1 night it got down to 60 degrees. I say pack a sweatshirt and a pair of jeans just in case, but most likely you won't need them!

Thanks Wendy! I think I will have them wear it on the plane - that way we have them but they won't take up that precious suitcase space!!

Thanks for the August replys. I think i'm gonna have to talk to Nicole and we're going to have to pick a week in September, it at least sounds bearable.

bouncycat, that's funny, you wouldn't wish august on your worse enemy:lmao:

We are doing zip up hoodies. 60 would feel like a heat wave to us! I am not packing pants, except for Austin.

I think for us, we're going to wear a sweatshirt on the plane and that will be the sweatshirt for the week, if it's even needed. I know weather down there is funny, but lets hope we don't even need them. And pants, I haven't really thought about pants. I don't know if i'm going to pack pants. The lighter I can pack, the better, but I would hate to need pants and not have them. I guess we'll look at the weather the week before, because you're right bertegirl 60 is gorgeous to us!
It's going to be 78 degrees here this weekend though, I am thrilled!! Because the girls have their baseball parade and there's going to be a bounce house, rock wall, circus performers. We're going to be able to spend the day there. I'll definitely post pics of that!

So I got a pincode in the mail yesterday for kids 3-9 stay , play and dine for free, so of course I called to price it and see if it was the better deal, but it was not! We're good with the 4/3!!!!!

I AM DOING THE 20 DANCE TODAY :banana:I CANNOT BELIEVE IT'S ALMOST HERE. WE HAVE BEEN WAITING TO GO FOR YEARS. WE ARE SO EXCITED!!! OK MOSTLY ME, BUT EVERYONE ELSE WILL BE WHEN WE'RE DOWN TO 10 DAYS AND I CAN TELL THE KIDS WE'RE GOING TO DISNEY NEXT WEEK!:yay::woohoo::yay::woohoo:

Emily needs a backpack for the plane, hers for school is an over one shoulder bag, but I want her to have something that will stay on her back while trying to get through the airport! And Lizzie needs a new one too, the zipper on hers just broke! UGH. I feel like i'm done shopping, but things just keep getting added to the list. Emily also needs new sneakers, and I still need some tank tops! But then we'll be done. My friend from work said she has a medium size suitcase that she will let us borrow, so i'm going with that. Ok, we'll almost be done, I know there's still some little things I need to pick up like new socks for Anthony (he doesn't wear sandals or crocs:confused3) Oh , and my Mom's taking the kids for their bathing suits, we were supposed to do that on thursday, but neither one of us felt like going to the mall!:headache:

Oh, I did want to ask about the online check in for the resort. I saw that you can check in online to your resort like the week before you arrive. Is anyone doing this, and how is it different than checking in when you get there. Because i'm assuming you still have to go to the desk to "check in" when you arrive to let them know you're there right? Thanks!

And it looks so good to see my ticker say 2 weeks instead of 3:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:
