Yogurt that tastes like McD's parfait?

You know, it's funny....I asked about taking acidophilus and she shook her head and said I would be doing myself a huge favor if I would just eat a yogurt every day.

Don't know why she prefers that to the supplement but I bought a variety so hopefully I'll like some of them.

I couldn't find any lowfat Dannon vanilla, so I bought the full fat version and it does taste like the Mickey D's! It's 150 calories, more than I like to eat in a 6 oz yogurt, but yummy.

Have any of you found the lowfat version?

I have not found any Dannon. I was at walmart (I hate wal-mart but I was looking for cheapo aqua socks) and they didn't seem to have Dannon. They did have the stonyfield farm but only in multi-packs.

So far I have tried Yoplait light fat free red raspberry which was edible but not yummy, and Breyers low fat strawberry with Nestle Crunch mix ins. THAT was delicious but can't justify the 2.5 saturated fat grams on a treat that small. I got two vanilla flavors to try so I will let you know what I think!

I wish I could find a vegetarian alternative for the parfait from McD's. But Panera has a YUMMY equivalent that's gelatin free!

:cool1:

I LOVE Panera!!! Personally, I HATE the parfaits at McD's....they are just too sugary for me. But, I really do love Horizon organic yogurt....add in some fresh fruit and Ezekial cereal (just like Grape Nuts)....and, it is like a treat from Heaven!!!!

It could be because so many supplements have be unproven to survive through the digestive tract. I think the only supplement that was every studied and proven to make it all the way down to the intestines was Culturelle. Other acidolpholus supplements aren't even proven to be "live" out of the bottle. It's really hard to know if you are getting a good product.

Having said all that, I read something a few months ago that there is doubt that any of the live cultures are surviving in those over-processed type yogurts such as Yoplait and the like. When eating yogurt, it's best to go for one that is the least processed with the least amount of additives.
