FWIW, I just assumed that the USPS postcards were 3.5 x 5, identical to the USPS minimum size for postcards. I stand corrected on the 5.5 inch thing. Sorry.

I gave him my mobile number and will keep you all informed when he calls. Apparently he is the guy who really did a lot of work on this project and if anyone would know, he would.![]()

Thank you, thank you, thank you for making the calls and finding this out for us!!!disneyaggie said:I got the answers!
I talked with the guy who is definitely "in the know". He was very nice and quite surprised that I found his telephone number! He even asked me, "How did you find my number'? Again, he was very curious, but most polite and helpful.
Anyway, he understood how some may feel uncomfortable sending a post card with such key information. So here are two other alternatives he suggested. He did add that they were trying to find the most uncostly way for folks to play. Here are two other suggestions he had besides just sending in a post card:
1) On a 3 1/2 x 5 post card, fill in all the information Disney asked for (name, address and DOB). Then take a second 3 1/2 x 5 card and put that on top of the information. Seal the edges. Then put a stamp on it and send. He said this way you can have one of the 3 1/2 x 5 cards cover the one with the information.
I asked him if we could tape around the edges and he said we should check with our local post offices to see if that was acceptable. He then suggested we find out if there is any additional postage.
3) Fill out a 3 1/2 x 5 post card as mentioned. Get an envelope that is as close to it being a 3 1/2 x 5 envelope as possible. Not just a regular sized envelope. You can then put the card inside the envelope and send. I am going to call Office Depot or some local printing companies. They should be able to accommodate for this size. Again, he stressed that the envelope must be as close to 3 1/2 x 5 as possible. But YES, he did recognize that even if it came in an envelope, it should be added to the bin.
He gave me impression that whenever they receive the cards, they put them into a big bin. Then they draw. So that is why they want the envelopes as close to the size as the post card so it will all be fair.
Hope this clears it up. I will be calling some printing companies and an Office Depot tomorrow to see if they have such envelopes. They may even have the cards at a good rate as well.![]()
or at least I don't remember reading about it in the sweepstakes rules.
Thanks so much for starting this thread!!MsTinkerChele said:i love that i started this thread and nobody seems to acknowlegdeit![]()

Hmmm..... I would think they may disqualify you for intentionally putting in the wrong birthday. I would think Disney would check (using some kind of security checking via internet database) from your name. If you accidently wrote the wrong birthdate on just one of the postcards only, I don't know.SnwflkCts said:I've been reading this thread with interest. Not to get into the 5.5 or 5 ... but the birthday thing.
What if you put a fake birthday on it? I doubt that will be checked on to send you a lanyard or mouse ears. Yes, I know you are trying for the BIG DREAMS .... so, put it one month off or ... one year off. Maybe you want to remember it so if the DREAM PATROL calls, and says are you Mary Smith, blah blah, birthdate 3-3-62 (and you are 3-3-60, you know to say yes!).
What do you all think of that?

Yes, it does.roseprincess said:As another poster asked, and I wanted to know this too, when do they do the drawings for the mail- in entries??![]()
There isn't a way to call that guy again and at least have a ballpark estimate as of when the mail-in drawings are, ie, once a month, once a week, only one time at the end of the sweepstakes?? It doesn't say on the sweepstakes rules when the mail-in drawings are held

From http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/disneyparks/en_US/index?name=YOMDRulesPage , item #3, subheading c, last half of that paragraph:
On approximately the 20th day of each month during the Giveaway Period, and on or about January 20, 2008, Marketing Resources, Inc., an independent judging organization engaged by Creata, will conduct random drawings at Marketing Resources, Inc.'s offices in Elmhurst, Illinois to award the prize(s) for each of the days of the immediately preceding month for which mail-in entrants were to be awarded a prize(s). Each drawing will be from among all eligible mail-in entries received on or allocated to the day for which the drawing is taking place. Potential winners from the mail-in entry pool will be notified by mail or telephone (at Sponsor's sole discretion) within approximately fifty five (55) days after each monthly drawing. If a prize requiring winner to be present at a Disney Property is designated for award (such as a DREAM FASTPASS badge or the one-night stay at the Cinderella Castle Suite), a winner entering via mail will receive an alternate prize of comparable or greater approximate retail value as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, such as a special edition pin and lanyard, a special edition Dream Mouse Ears or a merchandise gift basket (which may include a Disney Gift Card).
