I am NOT trying to start a debate, but I have an honest question... Have all of the resorts gone to the same refillable mug? If so, can you use your mug at any/all of the resorts now? We always get a new mug each time we go (have about 15 of them), so I'm definitely not trying to "cheat", but I wasn't sure how the mugs were going to work if they're all the same. TIA!

Nobody knows for sure.. but the wording on the mugs changed to reflect that it's good for the length of the stay in which it was purchased. (They dropped the wording about 'at the resort') So that should mean if you do a split stay among several resorts, you could use the same mug at each.

The mugs say YOAMD .. which ends December 31st.. so I would expect different mugs to be sold by the end of the year or early 2008.

We'll be eating lunch at some diff resorts, and it would be nice to be able to fill our mugs there for "the road." Sounds like we might be able to do that.

I can verify that all 3 of the All-Stars have gone to the new mugs. And I have seen reported here that Pop, POFQ, POR, SSR, and AKL have gone to the new mugs as well.

:thumbsup2 This is my understanding as well.

Not trying to start anything...but according to the Passporter and from talking to CM's, YOAMD ends September 30, 2007 (unless they have decided to extend it...but then it would be more than a year). It is assumed that the new celebration will begin on Oct.1 2007 with Epcot's 25th birthday!!

the exact wording is actually

"Free refills available at our Resort Beverage Islands until the end of the stay in which the mug was purchased."

so the new mugs make no mention that it has to be the current resort (in fact, it pluralizes beverage islands), whereas the old ones did. just that it's good only for that stay.

and yes, they are being phased into all resorts. for a while, a resort had to sell of its current stock before introducing the new mug, but as time goes on, more are picking it up.

We stayed at POR in Jan. and it was the same 'ole mug. We are going back the start of June, if they have YOMD mug I will certainly get one. We weren't going to do mugs this trip since we are only going for 3 days and staying at BWI. Does anyone have a pic of them?

Sorry, I was posting as that pic was being posted. Looks like its a cute mug! I'll have to get one.

Unless I am totally wrong and I appologize in advance if I am, I thought the YOAMD mugs can be used at the other Resorts if the guests were just visiting them even if they were not doing a split stay because the designs are the same, so there no way to tell which Resort you purchased them at.

That's great news. We're doing a split stay again and we'll be able to use our mugs bought at ASMU when we move to the Poly. Plus, that means if you go have a meal at the other resorts (we plan on trying Mara at AKL) you can use the mugs there too without "breaking the law". Very cool :)

Just wanted to confirm that the WL and AKL both had the new mugs this past week...

From the YOMD Rules and Reg. So it appears that it goes through the end of 2007

As has been noted in this thread earlier.. and as I have posted before..

It's really like the 14.253 months of a Million dreams.. It does end (and has always ended) on December 31st 2007. They can't change the material dates of the contest once it has started... at least not without dang good reason. I'm told that's not legal. :) Anytime the corporation that I used to work for ran a contest with a prize valued at 75$ or more (and most often our prizes were 10k or more and the contest was in most of the 50 states and Canada (like YOAMD) .. we were told once it started, the rules were locked so get 'em right.

And so far -- nothing's been announced for Epcots 25th anniversary and if you get right down to it -- the premier attraction at the entrance, SpaceShip Earth, will be CLOSED on the 25th Anniversary day.. Boo...

They might do something in 2008 to celebrate that.. but I doubt it personally. Individual park celebrations seem to have gone the way of the dodo. Even Disneylands 50th, was celebrated as 50 years of Disney magic or some such.. at parks all over the world.

So if we went to eat at a resort that has not introduced the new mugs, can we still get a refill on our way out at one of their "islands"? Just making sure I get this right. ;)

Does anyone know if any of the monorail or Epcot resorts have switched over to the new mugs yet?

We always counted the mugs as an extra Souvenir we have one from all the hotels we stayed at so far and we were looking forward to adding to our collection :( oh well we are going to have to start collecting something else

I am sorry to say, but I hate the new mugs. They look like the mugs that are sold for coffee and are sooo generic. Is Disney going cheap? I think this is a way for them to save money, probably cheaper to produce. I loved having a mug with some "character" which relected the resort. I am not happy at all about this. Also, the resorts no longer have their own individual bar napkins with their name and logo printed on them, these too have also gone generic. I hope they do not continue to take things away that made each place special, generic is not the way to go in my opinion!

I am sure once YOAMD is over the Resorts will go back to selling their old mugs, with desings that were specific to each of the WDW Resort Hotels.
