We were able to reserve the Grand 1 for a Wishes cruise on May 24. :teeth:

Janet2k was a big help in securing this reservation. The WL Concierge was also trying today for us but Janet told me to call at midnight exactly 90 days out. That's what I did and I was the first in line so we got it.

Thanks Janet!

Congrats!! We were on it last night--it was incredible!

I'll get the photo's up as soon as I can :)

Anne

I should have thanked you too, Anne. You provided the correct phone number to call on the same day that Janet did. The one I was calling was not the correct one.

The CM at the GF-Julia-who is an absolute doll-said that 4 people were calling for May 23. The first person to call after midnight 90 days out gets it.

I think it will be the perfect way to end our trip. Everyone will ge to relax and watch Wishes.

I can't wait to see your pictures :sunny:

It is the yacht that is docked at the GF resort. You can reserve it by the hour for cruises. It is booked 90 days out much like any other cruise.

We are going to WDW in May so DH can do a triathlon and we are also celebrating our anniversary that week. I wanted to do something special and relaxing (and I wanted to see Wishes.)

The Grand 1 was the perfect fit.

ducklite,

Are you still at WDW?

If you are, enjoy!

If you're home, hope you had a good trip.

Midnight?

I thought you had to call at 7am. Where did you call at midnight?

This must be different from when you book the regular illuminations cruises right?

A tad off-topic, but how many times have you been to WDW? You seem to be very lucky and go very often.

Yup! I'm here at WDW--today was a bit of a washout due to torrential rain, but we were all pooped after the cruise last night and then an early princess breakfast this morning, so it worked out well to get chased back to the room.

They go by first come, first served. So if they get mutliple requests for the same day on the machine, the first one will get the booking.

How was the Cinderella slipper Dessert?:sunny:

Thanks!

The dessert was simply to die for! We had it with champagne for the adults, juice boxes for the kids , yummy!

Ducklite,

This sounds like a great way to help celebrate our parents 50th anniversary this November. Could you please give more details (phone #, cost, where we travel to, etc) or point me in the right direction. There will be 27 people going but I would like to do something special for the 2 of them.

Thanks

The Yacht holds up to 12 people, the number you call is 407.824.2682, and it's $350 per hour. There is no food/beverage included, that will run you extra, and it's generally common to tip the crew.

Anne

The number ducklite posted is the # you call.

At first, I was calling the Marina directly-only to be told I was calling the wrong number.

I took the following from an email Janet2k was nice enough to share with me.

Exactly 90-days out, at midnight, you are to call the
following voice-mailbox and leave a message:
(407)-824-2682. A woman by the name of “Julia” checks
that voice-mailbox daily.

Julia books the boat according to who
called first. The voice messages are date &
time-stamped, so you can’t call at 11:59 PM the night
before, she will ignore that message and take the
first one starting at 12:00 AM on the proper booking
day.

The boat is $350 per hour. A minimum of one hour must
be booked. If you want to go over an hour, they can
break it down in 30-minute increments.

ducklite, I can't wait to see your pictures.:sunny:

The first time we went (last year) we only did it for one hour. It just wasn't enough, so DH booked for two hours for the other night. That was perfect!

They had the movie Toy Story on board, and my neice and nephew (4 & 7)watched that for part of the cruise.

Anne

Anne did you order any food? When we go to WDW this August we will be celebrating our 10th anniversary and I thought this might be nice. Did your neice and nephew have fun? Our three kids will more than likely be with us.

Not dinner persay (we ended up having to have dinner wrapped and brought onboard from Narcooses so we could eat it there--long story that will be told on the dining board) but DH had ordered a birthday cake for me. We also had Cinderella's Slippers, champagne, beer, soda, and juice boxes.

My neice is seven and says the best part of her trip with "the boat". My four year old nephew says the best part was the "sofa that's a bed." LOL--go figure!

The kids truly enjoyed it, and I'm glad that they had the movie, because it kept them so occupied that they weren't bored at all. The baby had a great time as well, we were able to close the bridge up and let her crawl around there to her hearts content.

If you let them know in advance, they are more than happy to have life jackets in the right sizes for the kids onboard. My sister didn't put them on the kids, but wanted them handy, just in case.

When we took the Grand One last year, we had wine, beer and a cheese plate that was VERY good and a great appetizer.
