The timing couldn't have been worse... :(

I move to my dream home next week. A good friend of mine is moving to California so he leased me his townhome, which is right around the corner from my sister's home. She lives in the nicest subdivision and since I've been unemployed and now working only part time, my dream to buy there was not to be... :(

Well, David called me and told me he would not offer it to ANYONE but me so I get it at the end of my lease next week! :bounce: YAY!

Ouch!

I tripped over my vacuum cleaner and hit my elbow. It hurt but it was okay. I get the keys tomorrow so I'm moving a bunch of stuff in before the movers come next week. I sit down at my desk and realize I cannot put my arm on the desk. I look and my ELBOW IS THE SIZE OF A BASEBALL!

:earseek:

Anyone have any experience with this? I don't really have time to baby this thing, it just has to GO!

Help!

Sorry I don't have any advice Robin, but I hope it gets all better soon. Hope you and Michael enjoy your new home.

Doc.. pain medicine.. keep on going.

This is the way I do it. I hope you feel better soon.

After doing a search on on swollen elbows and getting nothing but creepy answers I did a search on "elbow swelling"... it's all in the semantics, I see... and got what I needed.

RICE! Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation! Worked wonders.

My elbow is much smaller now after one night of RICE and not frightening small children.. :p

Sending you lots of PD for a speedy recovery, Robin. Enjoy your new house!:D

My husband had something similar happen, he hit his elbow at work & it swelled quite significantly. The Dr. diagnosed him with "Traumatic Bursitis". He took NSAID's, kept it iced & elevated, and kept a ace wrap on for awhile. Here's some info I found:Bursitis and Tendon Injury

Bursitis

A bursa is a small sac of fluid that cushions and lubricates the area between one bone and another bone, a tendon, or the skin. Bursae are located in and on joints throughout the body. Bursitis is inflammation of a bursa, typically causing it to fill with fluid. Traumatic bursitis is bleeding in a bursa caused by a direct blow to the bursa. Septic bursitis is an infection of a bursa, which sometimes results from traumatic bursitis.

Bursitis can be caused by prolonged or repeated pressure on a bursa or by activities that require repeated twisting or rapid joint movement. These activities may lead to irritation or inflammation within the bursa. Symptoms of bursitis may include:

Pain, especially with motion or pressure on the involved bursa.
Swelling caused by increased fluid within the bursa.
Redness and warmth.
Bursitis can often be treated at home by resting, applying ice or cold packs to the affected area, and avoiding the activities that irritate the area or cause pain. If the area is warm and red, an infection may also be present, which may require medical care.

Yes, Ann, that's what my problem was after all!

After the swelling went down a big UGLY purple bruise showed but and the pain is quite bearable with ibuprofen... I think I'll live! :p
