this year...this is JUST the meds I am on ALL the time: $1020. And that's less than what I spent the year before since I got off two medications. This doesn't include what I spent on things like antibiotics, cough meds, etc. This is just from the mail order pharmacy. May I ask what others on daily/weekly meds spend?
My copayment tier is $10, $25, $40....for a month's supply at pharmacy. For three months worth of meds from mail order it's $20, $50, $80.

we pay $65 a month on dh's meds - and that's just the copays - thankfully we have the plan at work where I can take out $500 (amount was my choice) to avoid taxes.

My mom was paying $800 a month for meds up until last month. With the new prescription add on plan with medicare she now only pays $35 a month! She is thrilled!

Okay, just added it up. For two people, my son and me, we spent $1273.15 on our maintenance medications. He has asthma and I take Synthroid and Prilosec.

My new migraine medication, without insurance, would be $123 for SIX PILLS!! Are they made of diamonds?? :furious:

I get the little purple pill (Nexium). 3 month supply is $100 x 4 times a year $400 just for me alone. If I add up the rest of the family I bet we are close to $1000 too.

Depends.

Whilst getting the meds off the NHS National Health Service, our socialised health care system) the total sticks at £60 per annum (about US$110). When claiming privately the bill just for me shoots up to an upper level of £3,600 per annum (about US$7,000 - $7,100).

US$7,100! And that's without all the MRI/ECG scans!

Needless to say, I now claim off the NHS :thumbsup2

Our co-pays are the same as your luvwinnie... I just looked at the report & our co-pays were 1500.00 last year.... BLECH.... course the insurance paid 13 grand, I shouldn't complain....

There was a time when my late DH's meds would run that much and more a month and all his insurance company would cover is $500 per YEAR.. After we depleted all of our savings, his pension, and his IRA, that's when we were forced to turn his health "care" (and I use that term very lightly) over to the VA.. Contrary to popular belief, he did not receive "free" meds there either.. The "care" was covered, but the prescriptions were running around $380 a month (sometimes more) right up until he passed away..

The cost of healthcare in this country is simply outrageous.. I don't know what people are going to do in the future because the costs are certainly going to go up - not down..
