Well, sorta!! Last night around 9, we heard what sounded like someone shooting fireworks off outside our window. Wasn't fireworks, though! We have an electric pole directly in front of our house.....about 15 feet from our front porch. Turns out it was the transformer on that pole.........ON FIRE!!! And the grass under the pole was also ON FIRE!!! Scared the beejeebers out of me!
So, we call 911 and got the kids out of the house. Crazy......Olivia only had a diaper on.....Desi and Selena just had undies and a robe on. Destiny and Selena were upset thinking our house was going to burn down.
The firemen went into our house to cut our breakers. Kids thought that was cool. Liquid from the transformer was all over the road and the our front lawn. Apparetly toxic (?freon), so the hazmat team was supposed to come out and clean it up. Finally, after an hour, they let us go back into get stuff for the kids and keys to our car and we ended up going to my mom's for the night.
When we left, they had just taken down the old transformer. Wonder how long it was before they got the new trnaformer up and the chemical cleaned up? All I know is we are back home, we have power, and I have a ton of stuff to do to get ready for a birthday party for Brittany (who claims she is never using power again because she doesn't want our house to burn down!)
