This August, my friend and I and our two kids (my DS6 and her DD10) will be making our first trip to WDW

Having good dining experiences is important to us, so we made our ADR's 90 days in advance. Because of that we had to decide in advance which parks to visit on which days before park hours were available. We factored a lot of different things into our decision, but not EMHs. Now that August hours are available I realize that we probably made the decision to visit lots of the parks on EMH days, and I'm wondering if we'll regret it. Specifically we're planning on being at MGM (evening only, it's our arrival day) on a Tuesday, MK on a Wednesday, Epcot on a Thursday, and AK on a Tuesday.

We are staying onsite and so would be able to take advantage of the EMH's, but I'm still worried about the crowds. We weren't planning on park hopping (although we could buy that there if it's really awful, I guess) but will have the plusses so we can "hop" to the water parks.

I don't know how feasible changing the days is -- especially since we have Princess Storybook reservations for the Thursday.

Also, does anyone have a comparison between crowds at AK and FW during EMH evenings vs. first thing in the a.m.? DS isn't going to have the stamina to make it both arrival and evening extra EMH (even with a break in the middle) -- so I'm not sure which to plan on -- letting him sleep in, or leaving the park kind of early.

Thanks,

Sorry but I don't have an answer to your question. I was wondering the same thing. We are also going in August (24-31) and with the new EMH I am unsure whether to schedule my PS utilizing the EMH schedule or avoid the EMH parks altogether. We have park hopper MYW tix and have always visited morning EMH parks till lunch then hopped to another park. Now with evening EMH I am totally confused :confused3 !!! Any WDW experts out there, could you give us your opinions please. Utilize EMH or Avoid EMH??? Thanks :flower:

The EMH parks are almost always busier than on a non-EMH day. Also, evening EMH seems to be much more popular and crowded than morning EMH. If you have the hopping options on your tickets-- then I'd enjoy EMH-- but spend the bulk of your day at a non-EMH park.

If you decide not to add hopping on your tickets--- then I'd seriously consider mixing it up a bit. Do some EMH parks and some non. This will help fan out your run in's w/ large crowds.

I just began making my ADR's last week for my early August trip. No problems getting everything I wanted. So, I would think if you need to change a few around-- you won't have any troubles. You may need to keep that breakfast one the way it is, but I'm sure there'll be a few you can switch up.

I would seriously consider the hopper option. That way you can spend the day at a non-emh park, then do the evening hours at the park that is open late.

Hi,
Here's a copy of my post from another thread. Let me add that pm EMH are more crowded than am. In the pm, guests are already awake and ready to go. It's easier for a lot of people to "keep going" than to "get started".

When I first heard the theory of avoiding early entry, my reaction was :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2: . After another year of taking guests to the Magic Kingdom my opinion of the theory is :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: . 99 people out of 100 will tell you that when they got to the park at rope drop, they were able to do a ton before everyone else gets there--and that's even on a regular 9am opening! If guests sleep in for a 9am open, then what are the chances of them showing up for the 8am EMH? Uh...how about 0. The guests who avoid EMH are making an assumption that every guest on property will be taking advantage of EMH. Take advantage of the one hour that you will have in the parks without an outside guest--or sleep in...the early risers thank you :teeth: .

Oh, and I agree with the park hopper option. Personally, I'd rather have that than the water parks.

My advise is th get the hopper option. I was pondering this also. I made my PS 60 days early accourding to EMH...they are subject to change. June 29 was a EMH night 2 weeks ago now it has changed to EMH morning. We fly in that day. I decided why worry about it just get the hopper incase anything else changes. You should do the EMH morning than leave later in the day if its to much for you. We always do EMH Morning stay until the masses arrive than go back to the hotel & swim, nap & back out to a park. ::MickeyMo
