If Yeti AA = Not Working/B-mode
at least...
Cloud Effect = WORKING
Station Steam = Working
Waterfall A = Working
Waterfall B = Working
Cave Mist = Working :worship:
Projection = Working

Did you send that list to Santa? Because that's probably the only way to get it... ;)

We were there Saturday. Yeti was definitely not moving. Just the strobes. I still like the ride though.

The ride has three foundations... each independent of the other. One for the yeti, one for the track, and one for the mountain. They were built inter-twined and simultaneously. The Yeti was built in. I think any fix would be pretty tough.

Well, I spoke to a friend of mine who works at EE. She tells me that Betti (the name the CMs there have whimsically given it: Betti the Yeti) can be repaired -- but the estimated price tag is in the seven figure range. The problem isn't that Disney doesn't want to spend the money -- it's that the repair work would essentially close the attraction for up to six months. EE is a major draw for DAK, so doing so would result in a massive loss of revenue -- and for what is, at best, a four-second glimpse at the creature.

We were in the world this past week and were in AK on both 6/16 (Tues) and 6/19 (Fri). Rode EE both days and on one day (6/16) the Yeti was in full swing operation--no strobe effect and seemed to be in full motion. On 6/19 however, the stobe effect was back, on both our early morning and mid afternoon rides. :confused3

All things aside with the Yeti, is this ride really safe? I mean if the Yeti messed with the structural stability of the ride, and they still use it, is this making it unsafe for riders in the future? :confused:

I would hate to think that the bottom line would be more important to Disney than guest safety, but nothing surprises me anymore with any business in this economy.

Should we all be concerned?

EE is built with three separate structural elements, the ride track, the mountain shell, and the Yeti. Each is structurally independent of each other to prevent damage from the motion of the tracks or damage from the motion of the Yeti to propogate to other elements of the attraction. So yes, the ride should be safe.
