Yet one more UY question

I currently own points at AKV with a December use year. If I buy points at another resort (let's say BCV) also with a December use year, will that contract be added under my existing membership number?

I realize if I buy a contract with a different UY, then I will have a 2nd membership number. Was just wondering if they both had the same UY but were at different resorts.

if it's a resale with the same UY month AND it's titled the same, it can and should be added under the same membership number. (it's best to let DVC know it's coming so they get it right.)

naturally, if you add-on a different resort directly through DVC, it would have to be the same UY month.

So, if I purchase a resale contract with a different use year and I want to use those points, along with my existing AKV points on a split stay trip, I will need to make two separate reservations and have them linked. Right?

Right. And each night must be entirely from one contract or the other -- you can't combine points to make one night without transferring.

Yes, you have to book whole nights from each. I originally had two different UY's--one for my VWL contract and one for my BLT contracts. My VWL contract was small (50 points) and I realized that it wasn't really big enough to make my trips work the way I needed them to so I could book at 11 months.

When looking at that 2nd contract, if it is going to be a different UY, just be sure you have looked at your trips and how many points would be needed to make it work for you.

I have since sold the VWL contract as I just wanted BLT points as well as didn't like having the two memberships.

You can transfer the points from one contract to the other contract and use your once a year transfer in/out for both. Then you can combine those points for a single reservation.
