Yet another WCC "advice" question.

I made my trip plans back in April, made all my ADR's at the same time. Since then, I have continually struggled with second guessing my choices.

The one I struggle with the most is Whispering Canyon. I thought the skillet looked awesome but the antics don't appeal to me. I am fairly quiet, don't like attention and don't really care for loud noises. I have eaten at Chef Mickey's and although I didn't wave the napkin myself, I wasn't bothered in the least by the others having fun with it. I also don't recall the "noise" being too bad, but maybe we hit an off day.

That being said, how does WCC compare? Is it noisier than CMs? Is it possible to observe the antics and not participate.

I am really leaning towards changing the ADR to somewhere else (Marakesh or Spoodles, assuming I can get in either of them), but would like to get a more experienced perspective. The only real appeal of WCC to me is the skillet (although I don't hurt for BBQ here at home so I'm not really sure what the appeal is with it) and the fact that I can see the inside of the WL. I'll probably never afford to be able to stay there, but when we ate at AP a few years ago (when they had a character breakfast) I absolutely loved the inside of WL.

Also, AP is not really an option, we are trying to stick to places we haven't been to yet, so we can check more places off our list.

Thanks!!!

We enjoyed eating at WCC without all of the antics. It was just me and my dd, so I think they knew to keep it calm. I think the servers are pretty good about knowing who they should really ham it up with and who they should tone it down for. I enjoyed the dinner very much and enjoyed the antics as long as they were with others!

I think CM's was more noisy, except for when the stick horse races are going on at WCC, then it gets pretty rowdy.

i agree w/tjmouse. the waitstaff is pretty good on picking up whether or not to be "rowdy" w/you. also, at dinner there is a quieter area you could always request. go and enjoy your meal; and, you are right--the lodge is beautiful. it is among our favorites!

We've eaten there twice and had no antics despite a 4/5 yr old who was DYING for them. :confused3 I wouldn't worry about it. It is somewhat loud but I think CM's is louder because of the huge open room, KWIM? OTOH, the food at WCC isn't very good, IMO. I'd much prefer to go to Spoodles, personally.

If you want a quieter dinner, request a table in the fire place room, away from all the hoopla.

Agreed! We eat there every trip because we love the lodge. Sometimes we're in the mood for antics, sometimes not. The waitstaff can tell. The fireplace room is very nice - not always open, but definitely more quiet. Just expect a few napkins and straws to be thrown around right off the bat - how you respond to that seems to set the tone.
