We are taking a 3 1/2 yr. old this trip (my boyfriend's daughter). It's been a while since I've taken a child this young! The only stroller he has is a basic umbrella stroller with no sun shield or basket in the back....VERY BASIC. Should I suggest that he get one with a few more features? I've seen some for about $30 - 40 that I think would work better, but what have you found with a 3 1/2 year old? Does it really matter?? :confused3

Thanks!

how heavy is she? many of the cheap umbrella strollers only hold up to 30-35 lbs.

but yes, it appears you are going in july, by all means spend the money and get the girl a stroller with at least a bit of sun shade!

you can get an umbrella type stroller with shade, reclined some and basket at Wal- mart for under $20. I used one myself last year the week we were at Disney. Easy to get on and off the bus (saw lots of people struggle with the large ones all week. :scared1: nightmare on buses). Was also comfy enough (as comfy as one can be I suppose) for the baby to nap in. Worked out well and was so cheap I didn't even try to bring it back home. Just went and bought a new one for this year.

We have annual passes and go quite a bit. When our 4 year old falls asleep his neck would flop onto his chest, looking so uncomfortable, while he slept in the umbrella stroller. So we've resigned back to his big old clunky baby stroller.

I need to get one that reclines. I'm looking at this one, but it only goes up to 40 lbs.

Try a MacLaren. You won't regret it. :) 55 pounds, and they even recline. The hood is detachable and movable as well.

check the weight limit!!! That was my mistake with my Chicco, I love the stroller and we did get 2 wdw and 1 busch gardents trip out of it, but had I researched a little more I would have gotten one with a higher weight limit, ours is only up to 35 lbs. HTH.

You will definitely want to get an umbrella stroller with a sunshade and storage basket for your trip. I'd also suggest getting one that reclines so they can take a little nap. You may have to spend a little more money to get one with the right weight limits (we use Maclaren Quest that holds up to 55 pounds) but it is so worth it. I'd rather push a stroller than have to carry a 3 yr old around.

The Walmart Cosco one that is like an umbrella stroller should be around $20 or less in the US( I got it up here for $20 on sale). I bought it last year for my niece for DL. It is good to at least 40lbs might even be 45lbs. It has storage underneath and mesh cup holders and storage by the handle. It was good for her last year when she was only 41" but now she has out grown it. It appears to have a slightly taller handle (it helps if you just push one handed if your really tall) then regular umbrella strollers.

If you think you might go back to WDW again in a year or two then buy something bigger.

I have been looking at getting the Combi Flare which is good to 55lbs. My niece is 43" tall now and the sunshade isn't touching her head. It's a tri fold so it packs up about the size of an umbrella and has a carrying strap. It's $100 up here.

I haven't been able to compare it to a Maclaren as I don't know where I might find one up here in Canada. I know lots of people have recommended them.

Hi! I know its an extra cost, but I suggest a jogger stroller with storage in the bottom and cup holders for you and the 3yo. Its worth the extra money. I love mine!!!
