OK...We're going on our first cruise for our 5th anniversary. I have not ever had any problems on any whale watching day cruises as a child and am not sure if DH has had any seasickness problems. We're going in Nov. so I don't know how choppy the water will be. I'm trying to decide what stuff I should buy "just in case" The big problem is that we're hoping to bring back "a little souvenir" so I'm scared to take Bonine or Meclizine. Any suggestions out there?

Hi.. my friend Sue last year took w/us these wrist bands that are suppose to put pressure on the inside of your wrist .. and she said it helped..

really it would depend on the season that you are traveling in. in the spring the seas should be fairly calm.. and should be no need of any sea sickness esp if you have been on whale wacthes.. those things always get me... if you are going during hurricane season. then you are in for some potentially rougher seas..

another tip i was told is to eat breads... and to be in fresh air and to focus on the horizon.. should help w/the equilibrium..

good luck on bringing home your Souviner.. I love that commercial!

The bands Garnet is talking about are called SEA BANDS and are available at most drug stores.

Talk to your doctor. The antihistamine based drugs like Bonine are "pregnancy category B" and are usually considered safe at nomal doses. It would be nice to know if you need something more than Sea Bands.

I easily get motion sickness. Last year I purchased a bottle of Ginger capsules. I forgot to take one in all of the excitement and started feeling ill on the first night. I took one at bed time and felt fine the next day. I felt okay for the rest of the trip. I already have my supply for my upcoming trip.
