Quick question:
Which would you prefer and why? There are 6 of us btw.

2 standard rooms connecting at AKL
The Deluxe Club level suite room at BWI
or... the deluxe club level suite at Wilderness lodge?

The suites are a little more but not much more than the two rooms and you get club level. I don't know how much the club level is worth with the FD promotion? Any one have any idea as to which is the best? Thanks.

If BWI and Wilderness Lodge are only one bathroom, I would totally get 2 rooms at AK. No way would I want to share one bathroom with five other people...club level or not.

Good point. Yes, they are only one bath. (Of course they are all little kids, but an extra br would be nice.)

Depends on how important the "connecting" part is to you. Considering it is not something that can be booked and is ONLY a request, it is possible that you would not get connecting rooms. If that would be a huge deal, then I would go with another option.

We recently had two connecting rooms at AKL and it was great! We left the connecting door open most of the time and it felt like we had a suite as a result.

For our party of six we did the deluxe room at BWI, loved the location of the room, loved the lounge and loved the location of the resort! I was always worried about not getting connecting rooms, which is why we went with the deluxe room.

AKL 2 connecting rooms is by far your best choice. We do it every trip and last time they were only joining room but OK! This next trip we will get 3 together. What family fun!!!!!!!! It really never worked with more then 5 in a room and that is what made us go to 3 rooms this time.

Boardwalk Inn Deluxe Room because of their theme/atmosphere, plus in my opinion their Club Level Cast Members are simply the best set of people you will ever meet and all their Deluxe Rooms come with a guaranteed Boardwalk/Crescent Lake view so you can see all the action going on, people walking around and the Friendship Boats.

Just one word of caution is that they only have a total of 10 Deluxe Rooms and they can sell out very fast no matter if it's under the Rack Rate, Room Only discounts or promotions such as Free Dining.

Thank you. This has been great information. I was told they guarantee the connecting rooms if there are minors involved. Is that not true? It would be horrible if DH had to be in one room with two of the kids and me in another room with two. That just would be a bad family vacation!

Chances are that you would get connecting rooms, but even if it says guaranteed on your reservation, there really is no guarantee. But disney will try their best, if you do not recieve connecting rooms you can always ask if they are available the next day if you are willing to move.

Deluxe Club Level Room at the WL because of the proximity to the MK, &, w/ young kids, you'll probably be going there alot. Plus, you have a boat to the Contemporary which will give you easy access to the other monorail resort restaurants & the TTC for the monorail to EPCOT.

If you're not planning on going to the MK multiple times & don't have plans for the monorail resort restaurants, then I'd go w/ the Boardwalk.

They do not guarantee connecting rooms. We have even had reports on these boards of a single parent with multiple minor children not getting them because they simply were not available. There are only so many room pairs... and a lot of families that are there with minor children.

It is always just a request, even if it says "guaranteed" on the reservation. In truth, the small print says the only thing you are REALLY guaranteed is a room on property. Period.

That said, Disney does its best to meet requests. The issue is, it just sometimes is not physically possible to do so. If you have 5 pairs of connecting rooms open on any single day and 6 families request them... well... someone isn't going to get them. Thus, if it is a make or break situation NOT to get them, then I would look at something besides that option.

Depending on when you are going...there is the Art of Animation Resort that is suites. They fit 6, have 2 bathrooms, and a small kitchenette. The pictures are amazing.

Grr. I wish they didn't say guaranteed then! Guess I will have to go with the suite then.

I am trying to compare AofA and paying for dining with Boardwalk club level suite, and it seems to me that even paying for dining you would still be almost $1000 less at AofA. I plugged in 4 kids-2 over 10 and 2 under 10.

Of course, that is a value and BWI is a deluxe, but for guaranteed space and a brand new room, you may want to check that out.

One potential problem with connecting room at AKL: normally a dresser with three drawers is located at the doorway, when not used as connecting rooms. When used as connecting rooms, you will only have the two drawers under the TV in each room.

Actually, it was the exact same price as the AKL when I just checked it online and that is a Value vs. Deluxe. It came out to $5800 with the DDP for the 6 of us. That just sounds like a crazy price to stay in a value. JMO. DH, DD(10), and DS (8) really want to swim and the pool at AOA doesn't look like it has a slide or much of anything compared to BWI, AKL, or WL.
I don't know what I am going to do, honestly. AKL is the best price to just get the 2 standard rooms, but then I have to worry about being separated. I like the two bathrooms and the larger space it affords but I hate the worry. Sigh.
