Universal will now be closing Twister until at least spring. Saw it on WESH. They must either be really hurting or trying to prevent big losses. Sorry if this is already posted, but didn't see it on a quick look.

pretty sure Jaws and Jurassic Park is opening soon so its not like those attractions will all be closed at once.

No big deal to me. We do that ride once every several trips. It probably also will help them do the construction for Rip Ride Rockit that goes through the twister area.

Although it nice to hear about crowd reports like the 2/10 thread on crowds & nice to hear about discounts on tickets, rooms and vacation packages - unfortunately it results in cutbacks at the parks.

By spring are they referring to Spring break peek as in March? I really would hate to have so many rides closed for our first trip to USO. We go at the end of April will these attractions be open by then?

I was told to avoid this ride anyways. Somone told me it was the lamest in the park.

i don't think it is that bad.
i enjoy seeing it once on every trip.

i always find something new to see on that attraction.

everyone has an opinion on attractions.
not all will like the same things others do.

i never considered Twister a ride.
think of it as an attraction.

I know the closure of some of the attractions are going to be a disappointment but remember...I would much rather have Universal close some of these attractions than to lay people off.

It was just stated on my local news WFTV that Universal will be closing Twister for a couple months until the spring due to costs and attendance.

does it really surprise anyone? the only time people ride it is when it's peak season and it's a short wait compaired to the other rides.

I only do Twister if I can get in the front row! I love it there! I agree, its not the best, but I do it at least once a trip.

I'm glad it will be open when we go in june
Sorry guess its the country boy in me cause I love the flying cow :lmao: and like metro I would rather see them shut down some rides for a couple months than to lay off people :thumbsup2

I love that friggin cow!! :rotfl2:

Well that kind of sucks. :sad1: dh & i will be there 3/1 to 3/6...our first time at UO and we are looking forward to experiencing everything. But of course it is a trade off when you travel off season. And, I agree with Metro...I would rather miss a couple of attractions during my vacation than think that folks have lost their jobs. :)

At least it looks like it will be open this weekend while we are there.
This is our first trip to Universal since IOA has been open so we would like to see as much as possible.

The weather is supposed to be beautiful this weekend...low 80's on Saturday and upper 70's on Sunday. I'll be playing at Disney and Universal this weekend. :thumbsup2

Your right Metro, this is what Florida wheather should be!!:thumbsup2
I had my fun yesterday at US,couldnt ask for better temps!!!
