Yet another reason not to ride MS

Disney cannot follow everyone around the park and make adults read the signs.

Didnt someone die on Body Wars many years ago? And it's just now closing.
I didn't die on Body Wars, but I sure was wishing I had when I got off........whiplash and a mild concussion that left me with migraine headaches for a week. But not once did I blame WDW for my stupidity. I chose to ignore the warnings posted at the entrance to the ride. It's my own darned fault that my neck has never been right since riding this ride. I should NEVER have gotten on Body Wars to begin with, but it was my choice and I've had to learn to live with the consequences.

Folks, you know better than anyone else how healthy or unhealthy you are, so in the end it's YOUR responsibility to make an informed choice about which rides to ride and which ones to skip. Until Disney starts requiring medical releases, or better still medical histories, for every guest to enter the park, they cannot place anything other than height restrictions on rides. If you have persistent, extreme high blood-pressure, don't blame Disney if you stroke out on a stressful ride. The warnings are posted for you to read. It's up to you to make an informed decision, not the CM's manning the rides.

My husband and I will be traveling to WDW in Sept. with his brother, who does suffer from some severe medical issues.. Before we ever get to the parks, we will make sure BIL is aware of the risks for each and every ride he's considering riding. That way he can make his own informed decision on which rides he may want to skip..........at least I'll have company while waiting for DH to finish riding Mission Space and ToT.

They have signage. Warnings are available in different languages. Do the warnings have to be in electric neon... or just printed twice in the same places??? If people CHOOSE not to read the warnings, why is that Disney's fault? I have a back problem and a small kid and you betya... I read EVERY sign for warnings before we ride amusement rides.

Yes I am well aware of the signs, however according to a few articles and news reports the signs do not state anything about having high blood pressure. Unless they changed it since those reports I am sticking to what I wrote.

I will also have to say that even though I started this thread, I am going to have to agree with pamouselover and also say this is the last time I am posting on this thread. Before I go I want to say a few things:

1. I in no way ever intended for this thread to get this long, but I am so proud because this is the longest thread I have ever started! :Pinkbounc

2. Please do not think of me as an MS hater. I just think that rides should be enjoyable and exciting for everyone. Of course if you have a known problem and the signs say you shouldn't ride due to that problem then it is probably wise not to ride, however does everyone need to get a full body physical before going on a ride?

3. I hope that those of you that simply love this ride continue to enjoy it the way Disney meant for you to enjoy it. No hard feelings, ehh? :thumbsup2

Have a wonderful vacation everyone :wizard:
