Yet another question on resorts at Christmas

I know everyone is tired of comparing WL to AKL, so please forgive.........
Currently have a ressie at Dolphin (balcony, water view)- booked what I could afford due to govt rate.
But assuming there are any discounts for 12/6-12/13, would love to switch to a split stay with either CR/AKL or CR/WL. It will be me, DH, DD (7), and DS (13 months). We usually spend maybe 40% of our time at MK.
Really leaning towards AKL (really love the dark, African ambience), but feel like I would be missing out on the Christmas decorations at WL. OTOH, I like the fact that AKL does not share busses with other resorts, since approximately 60% of the time we would be at a different park than MK and I'm afraid this would be a hassle at WL.
My main concerns are theme, Christmas decorations, and transportation.

I've stayed at AKL at the tail end of the Xmas decorations - they are great - very in theme with the hotel and yet still show great holiday spirit. If you've never stayed at AKL - it's worth it - a fabulous hotel.

We stayed at both resorts last December 7 nights at each. You really won't go wrong no matter which one you choose they pretty much have the same amount of decoration. Each has a Huge tree in the middle of the Lobby. Pretty much all the resorts have Huge trees in the Lobby. The GF not only had a huge tree, but a real gingerbread house a real huge gingerbread house in the lobby, on the side, they were selling cookies from the inside of the house. It was very cool.

The AKL decorations are beautiful.... but so are those at the WL. We had a bad bus experience at AKL when we stayed there....but I'm rather sure its the exception rather than the rule.

If you concentrate your MK time during your stay at the CR...then I'd probably go for AKL. If you've never stayed there its a very unique experience.

We love all the resorts so much we often make dining ps's at resorts we want to spend some time visiting....we just can't stay at all the resorts we love every trip!
