Please be patient with me. I'm new to this. To set my mind at ease I just called and made my reservations for our trip next June at rack rate. (I'll call back later to get AAA.) Now that I've done it, I see what everyone means about it taking a while to gather everyone's names, ages, when their last time at Disney was, etc.

I've been told that when AP rates are announced, I should call and ask for a new reservation (if the rates are available), then cancel my exisitng reservations. Is there any way to move through the process quickly (avoiding all the preliminary questions) just to see if rates are available for my dates? Does it not work if you give them your existing reservation code so they have all your info, then ask if AP rates are available?

Advice from veterans, please!:)

I'm not 100% sure. But here's how I got AP rates.

I had an existing reservation through CRO for Pop Dec 1-6. When AP rates came out, I just called, got a CM and said I'd like to apply the AP rate if I could. They checked availability and I got my discount. I did not have to cancel my existing ressie at all.

I had codes applied to existing reserv. also (not new ones-also not ap-just codes).
