I understtand that the moderates don't have private balconies, my question is this, can you sit out in the walkway at night for a bit? We just wnat the kids to be able to go to sleep while we're unwinding as well.

Thanks!

In my view, not really suited for that. The Delux resorts would be ideal for that type of thing.

There really is not much room on the walkways to sit out. The chairs that are in the room would be kind of big to put there to sit on. You would have no privacy, and I would think you would be in the way of people trying to get to their rooms.

The CBR had chairs outside the rooms and I sat outside our room every evening or in the morning waiting for the teens to get dressed. We were on the first floor, not sure if chairs were only on ground floor level. :D

At POR AB we had first floor corner and no one would walk pass our room. It was like our own little porch and we sat outside. I think I remember some benches on Mansion side, but wouldn't be right in front of your room.

At CSR we were in Casitas water view and there were benches by the water we could sit on just in front of our room.

CBR does have some sitting available if you have a beach side room. But we also had water view corner room, no one walked past our room.

Chairs would be the biggest issue. We drive down so could actually bring our pop up chairs..................

we had 2nd floor rooms at cbr and there were white plastic chairs on the walkway/balcony... dh and i sat on them many a night after the kids were in bed... we were able to see illuminations from afar... made it kinda magical... anyone that walked by had space and were usually quite cordial (i think we might have even shared one of dh's beers w/another guest... or maybe that was at ASSp... after awhile one trip runs into the next! LOL!)

As for PO (I believe both FQ and RS) has various places to sit outside of the rooms depending on where your placed same goes with CBR and CS. For instance, the mansions at PORS have courtyards with benches in the gardens. If your placed in a courtyard facing room on the first floor, then a garden bench may only be 10/12 feet in front of the room and I can tell you, there were plenty of people sitting out in the gardens at night/during early morning just enjoying the peach and quiet. FQ also has benches around in the courtyard areas so it would depend on where your room is located.

Now it is a bit different if your on the 2nd or 3rd floor of these resorts as some walkways are large enough to place a chair and have people pass you and others aren't as big (you would be blocking the way). In those cases, it may be better to get a corner room where you wouldn't have as many people passing your room as if you were placed someplace in the middle. Another thought would be to ask for a room on the first floor facing a quiet pool area as you could sit closer to your room using the pool chairs.

Otherwise, I would tell you to see if you could find a code for a deluxe stay (most have balconies) or you may want to rent points for a stay at a DVC from an owner. OKW is a nice place to stay that has balconies to all rooms and in the offseason cost $80.00 per night for Sun through Thursday stays. Check out DVC board.
