I deligently read in the beginning of my planning all the threads, looked at all the pictures, and chose POFQ for busses, and the Dragon Slide! I liked the idea of the smaller resort...

Then Free Dining... and POFQ was sold out for Free dining.... so the CM booked me at POR... and I called and called to change it (since its 2 rooms on free dining, its a tad tricky changing)

So I researched POR (thanks all Dis members posting pics, and rooms, and opinions on Mansions and AB - extremely helpful) So I made a choice, the mansion closest to POFQ (I know we'll have to walk dd over to that Dragon slide!)

Now dilemma, more openings for free dining... do I switch again?????

Is the pool at POR with their slide a fun slide? Is the Dragon slide at POFQ really small and not as adventurous??? How long does it take to walk from POR to POFQ????

having stayed at both I would have to say either one is great!! the walk to POFQ is only a leisurely 10 minute walk... you can also use the boat for a trip to POFQ but it is really quicker to walk. you can use the pools at both resorts as they are both PO. The kids really loved the "dragon" slide. Both have good food courts. Cannot think of any downers connected with either resort. Hope this helps.

Both are great, depending on the ages of any children traveling, they would like the pool at POR, it's bigger(so is the slide).

I was wondering how adding Dining Plan makes resort rooms sold-out......I am in the middle of planning our wonderful vacation and was also going to do a PO with the Dining add-on Plan. Was curious, any feedback or comments on that please...Thanks So Much ! :flower:

From what I understand each resort is given XX amount of rooms for "discounts/codes/or free dining" when that number is reserved, then it shows as "booked up" for that particular promotion, and then you are given a list of other resorts that still have room in your category (ie moderate, or deluxe, or value resorts) I do not believe they (disney) publicise the number of rooms at each resort deligated to each promotion (AP rates, etc)

So QPOF

Hope this helps

any more comments on pool and resort size is still welcomed!! :flower:

Just so you know you have just as much chance of ending up in building 37 of the AB section or the Acadian House of the Mansion section then you do of ending up in Parterre Place, which is the closest mansion to POFQ. If you really want POFQ then I would suggest you switch over, even if it will cost more money. If you cannot swin the additional money or if you choose not to want to spend the additional money then you need to be prepared for a long walk over to POFQ to use the main pool on that side of Port Orleans.
